I will never buy from this store. I spend a lot of money in gear every year and, unfortunately, this sorry excuse for a music store is the closest to my home. Their sales associates have zero interest in actually helping you; most of them seem to have been given some type of lobotomy or would rather play Pokemon Go then be attentive. Dorks! I bought a used guitar over the phone with a guy named "Izzy". This guy had me repeat my address three times, but still screwed it up. Then when he sent me the confirmation, my address was still screwed up. So, I called the Guitar Center to make sure that my correct address was on the package so that when it shipped, it went to my house. They assured me they would change the address. Just to double check, I called the next day when I received the tracking number to make sure they had the right address on the package. They assured me that they did. Guess what, the guitar didn't come to my house because there was "no such address". So, I call, and low and behold they didn't change the address like they assured me that they did. So, my guitar is now floating around some UPS warehouse and lost and hot in this crazy summer heat. P.S. No offer for a partial refund, discount, anything. Great customer service. This review is regarding the guitar "tech", Bill. I purchased a used guitar back in March, Bill said he would fix the bridge up for me - did an OK job at it. Came back to pick up my guitar and was told he lost my guitar case and tremolo arm. Alex replaced the case for me, him being most generous throughout this tedious situation. After numerous times of reminding him, he finally picked it up from his warehouse... 7 fucking months later. Not only was it the wrong arm but he was a dick about it too. "I SPENT 60 DOLLARS ON THAT". Good job caring about the customer, you dick. I give up, I will NOT be taking my guitar back to Bill, ever. If he can't order in the proper tremolo arm, then what makes me think he can actually fix a guitar? It's not exactly rocket surgery to order in the correct tremolo arm. Save yourself some trouble and go to a real guitar tech. read more

Let me start by saying that I hate big chain music stores. I always feels like a harsh experience. They never know anything and are just giving you a sales pitch. OK, so I went in there a few months ago to get a new drum kit. I had a horrible experience in there before so I was very tentative. Walking in I see this guy covered in tattoos hanging out in there. So I tell him I need a new kit, and he asked me a whole bunch of questions and actually listened to what I was saying. His name is Steve and he said he was the department manager. He had me do a blind sound test between kick drums and toms. Needless to say this guy knows more about drums and cymbals than any person I have ever met in my life. He hooked me up with a sweet DW collectors kit. It was exactly what I needed and wanted. He was the nicest guy ever (looks like he can be mean, but really is nice as hell) He explained to me about all the different woods and what they did. He asked me a few questions and I gave him a budget and he got me exactly what I needed. Steve is AMAZING. I would recommend him to anyone who is looking to buy anything instrument related. He really surprised me though with his knowledge about guitars and PA equipment. Since then we have bought all new stuff for out band from him. I cant say enough about him, I have never had anyone cater to exactly what I needed and nailed it perfectly first try. He told me "my goal is to get you out of here with the right stuff the first time" When he said that I though it was just a cheesy sales pitch, but he really went the extra miles to get me what I needed. What's all this negativity about Guitar Center in Cherry Hill!? My husband & I are full time working musicians & have been dealing with GC for at least 20 yrs & the Cherry Hill store from the day it opened! Through the years we've dealt with all of the staff there whether I bought something or not!!! They have always been extremely courteous, helpful, respectful, and never gave us a hard time about anything!! They are all knowledgeable musicians & they've never gave us grief or hassled us in any way when we brought stuff back. They always solved any problem or issue we've had. The managers there go way beyond the call of duty to satisfy their customers & are concerned when they see someone is unhappy with something, especially Jesse, Phil, and all the other staff there. No store is 100% problem free, but these guys really go the extra mile for their customers! I'll admit GC used to be a good place to get your gear. Recently, they've been struggling. It seems all of the knowledgeable staff has gone on to better places and the folks who have been there forever exemplify why they've been there as long as they have, b/c it's a job and they can't get hired anywhere else. Whenever you ask about an item, they throw something at you that's nowhere within logic to get you immediately lose interest or they just don't know. However, if you're 16 yrs old and you can play power chords and have no clue about tone, technique and really don't understand music, then GC is the place for you. read more

The gear is awesome there, but go in with knowing what you want. The employees just stand around and talk nonsense with each other. Don't even try working for them either. They pay horrible and its like they run a circus with how they treat the employment process. Tell you that you are hired and turn around and give the job to someone else. It's almost they like to play games with people who actually need jobs! This used the place I would always go to for stuff, but after the mess I put up with I will be taking my business to another Guitar Center location again. read more

Lousy customer service. Brought in my amp for repair, was told two weeks, asked for call before repair done so I could decide to repair or put the money towards new amp. Two weeks go by - no call. Call the store to ask status of my amp - get shunted from person to person, all are brusque and totally uninterested and last one says I'll have to call the repair company in northern NJ myself to find out what's up. I call Triple S -- finally I get to speak to someone who's helpful, unlike anyone at Guitar Center (five stars to Triple S!). Tell me I was misinformed by Guitar Center about getting a pre-repair call and about how long repair would take. Turns out repair is not worth it so they'll send am back to store in two days. Few days later I call Triple S and they say yep, the amp was shipped back to store two days ago. That was 4/2/09, on 4/4/09 in the morning I call store to find out when I can get amp, they tell me amp's not there, I tell them Triple S shipped it, they say they'll call me back, and today's 4/5/09 and I'm still waiting for the call and still have no amp. read more

meredith(macio)bell. i have had GREAT service at Guitar Center Cherry Hill nj. they hook me up ALOT!!! they get great guitars all of the time. of course i may have had moments with them,but the bottom line is the GUITARS, the $$$ you have to spend and not the personality of workers. they have always been great with me and i SUCK as a guitar player,(i'm really a drummer). keep rollin' in the great guitars GC,i'll always be back!!! peace...... read more
