I have given up on ever getting my amp or $60 "deposit" back since about a year ago. I took a broken amp to Danny's about around October 2023. He requested, and I gave him, a $60 "deposit". I gave him my phone number and he said something along the lines of "If you don't hear from me in a week, call me and say 'where the hell is my amp' ". I didn't hear from him, so I called and visited his "shop" within about 2 weeks and over the next ELEVEN months or so - up to the present. - He was unreachable during the stated business hours (and now his business phone is OUT OF SERVICE!!) or - he didn't get to it yet or - he needed to order capacitors or - he told me his father was dying - probably in April or May of 2024 or so. True or not? I gave him the benefit of the doubt and gave him more time. or - he indicated that the amp was on his workbench in the basement taken apart and he needed to order additional capacitors for it etc. etc... As mentioned his business phone number, (856) 662-2979, is now out of service. He is never in his shop when I visit during his business hours. For the sake of others, I hope that he is now out of business and can never rip off anyone else. He is either incompetent or a criminal, or both. I was dumb and didn't look at the existing Yelp reviews and thought I was doing a local business a favor by bringing him my amp. Lesson learned. read more

I have not forgotten what this business did to me!!! They STOLE my Korg Polysix & calzone roadcase! I had used them many times, this was not the first time my keyboard was there for repair! This time Dammy told me he was having trouble finding parts! He said to leave it & that he would call me when he found the parts! I would call every couple of months to see if there was any update. A few months go by and i decide to call to see if there's any news.... at which point i was informed that "we got rid of all equipment that was left over 30 days! Then I find out that old analogue synthesizers have shot up in value!!! Thieves!!! I haven't used them since & tell everyone what they did to me!!!! read more

This is the worst repair person ever. I took my GK bass amp there to get repair and git it back in worst condition. Now its not working at all. While they had my amp they tried to charge my credit card 3 times for various amounts and never contactec me or given me and invoice. I called and made an appointment to meet this person about taking a look at a Peavey Amp. Upon showing up at the store location at the exact time we agreed upon meeting they had the outside door locked even though it was within the hours posted. I called multiple times, rang the door bell and knocked but no one answered. I had to go across a bridge and pay tolls from Philly. They obviously don't value their customer's time or effort and that should say a lot about their terrible customer service. DO NOT GO HERE. I truly can not understand how this place have any good reviews! This place is HORRIBLE! Worst experience ever! I wish I would have listened to the negative reviews because they are spot on! The other reviews must be from friends and family. The church I attend we used a Behringer Mixer which stopped working after less than two years (did not purchase from here). I took it to another repair shop and they told me that it is extremely difficult to impossible to get parts for this brand. I then checked yelp to see if there was any other repair shops who could fix it. I called a few and they stated the same thing that the first place told me or that they simple do not work on this brand. BUT not when I called Danny, he said he worked on this brand and could get parts! So my Pastor dropped it off to him about a month before Easter 2023. He stated he would have it fixed for our Easter Service, which he did not! In fact he stopped answering my calls. It takes a blessing to be able to reach him at the shop because the hours posted are not the hours! He opens whenever he wants and answer the phone whenever he wants too!! After a few months my Pastor went there after no positive communication (basically always getting a non definitive answer or no answer) . He had to knock on the door and finally Danny came to the door. Danny basically refused to give mixer back stating it was apart and he was working on it. My Pastor had to call the police! AND Danny knew that the police weren't going to be able to do much legally because he welcomed it and stated they are just going to tell you to take me to court! The police arrived and exactly what they stated, they also stated the have been called to this shop on multiple occasions! Fast forward to today FIVE months later still have not heard anything about the mixer. In fact the last contact I had with him was in June, the week of father's day. I told him that he did not have to fix it, we just want our mixer back! He stated his children were taking him out and he would call me back when I could come. He also stated it was taken apart still! At that point I told him I would take it the way it is! Yes, you guessed it, no call back! It is now August and I have not heard from him and we still do not have our mixer. This place NEEDS to be shut down! I will definitely be looking into the next steps to take to have this fraudulent place shut down!! I will also report to Better Business Bureau! read more

I sent my amp here because they were the closet place to me that is authorized to repair my amp, which is kind of a boutique item. It was returned to me with evidence that some work had been done on it, but the main problem had not been addressed and the amp was still not in working condition. I emailed them a couple times requesting a refund, along with detailed photo and video evidence that the amp was still broken, this was months ago and I never heard back. Its not worth the hassle to file in small claims court to get my $250 back. I have a feeling thats a big part of their business model. read more

It seemed I couldn't find anywhere to repair my PA System. Danny's Ampservice was recommended to me by Guitar Center and seemed like a godsend at the time. Danny seemed very kind and trusting and I got a strong vibe of safety in bringing it in to him. He charged me a $50 deposit and a month goes by with no phone call. I started to call every two days, to which he would reply, give me your name and number and I will call you back before the end of the day. He promised he would call back on at least 10 separate occasions. Finally THREE MONTHS go by and I still had no word from him. I finally get aggressive with calls and with my tone and I get an answer...SIX MONTHS later. They told me they could not fix it and that it had been simply sitting in their shop. NO ONE called to let me know this. I had to track them down. They proclaim to be a professional service and to call yourself a service but leave it as the customer's responsibility to track down their repair update is absurd. They NEVER told me anything throughout the fixing process. I finally was able to pick up my PA System SEVEN MONTHS later and it was badly scratched and unfixed. Took a turntable here and was told it would take a week to fix. I called after a week. nd they said another few days. I called and they said they'd call me back and never did. I started calling them relentlessly until I could get a straight answer but I couldn't get anyone to speak to me about it. I show up in person. They no longer had the turntable there and nobody could give me answers. I was livid. what a hack!! took my amp to him 9 MONTHS AGO and still dont have the amp. he had it for 3 months before saying he needed to send it to the Manufacturer...6 months after that still no amp. He impossible to get a hold of and never calls back . you need to chase him down for any updates and there wont be any. if 0 stars was a selection i would have picked that. i wonder if ill actually ever get my amp back. read more

My experience with Danny's Amp Service echoes the other reviews. He was listed as an official warranty repair location for VOX amplifiers. He had my amp head for nearly a year. I would call about once a week and he'd say he was "waiting on parts." Eventually after 10+ months, I demanded to have it back. I showed up the next day and my amp was fixed (it was apparently a bad input jack - something that could have been fixed in 30 minutes). However, my amp which was in brand new condition when I dropped it off was now all marked up and looked like it had been gigged by someone else. He actually attempted to charge me money for the repair (which for a warranty repair should have been free). I'm hoping that my review will save one person from dealing with the dishonest and terrible service here. After this experience I was able to find another electronics/amp repair person in south jersey who is very quick, honest and knowledgeable. Please - avoid Danny's at all costs. read more

I had brought my Kurzweil keyboard to Danny's Amp Service in for repair a few months ago for boot-up issues and I am extremely impressed with them! Danny Jr. spent a lot of time with with me when I initially brought it in so he could fully understand the issue. He then made the repair in less than a week (since I needed it ASAP for a gig) and then explained how I could help prevent it from happening in the future by placing foam panels on the keyboard controls when transporting it to and from gigs. He even provided me with the foam! My keyboard has been working perfectly ever since and I'm very grateful to Danny's Amp Service! I highly recommend them! read more

Danny is a nice guy who was selling a digital piano at a great discount. If I didn't call and talk to him, I'd think it was too good to be true. But once you talk with him, you'll see he is forthright, knowledgeable and helpful. He's in Pennsauken, which is 20 mins from center city, Philadelphia in a small shop that is crammed with all things audio. The piano he had was missing the bottom half that it sits on when I visited, so he ordered me a new stand set-up from Yamaha. Like I said, you should call him if you need help rather than texting. I don't think I would have visited him for anything else audio related, but he had a piano he needed to sell, and it was the exact model I wanted. All for much less than I would have paid new. read more

I brought in a Roland BA-330 stereo amplifier for warranty repair. I was charged a $25 dollar processing charge and told the amp was fixed. Unfortunately I didn;t go to use the amp until about six months later and learned that it was still malfunctioning and at that point out of warranty. I recently took my Son's Kurtzweil PC88 into Danny's Amp Service for repair. The keyboard would power on but then freeze up. Danny was very friendly, he told us our issue was common in this model keyboard. I left a $60 deposit which he advised would be deducted from the final repair cost. Danny called 2 or 3 days later and said the keyboard was ready to be picked up. When we came to pick the keyboard up Danny took the time to explain to my Son what was wrong with his keyboard and how to take better care of it. We were also looking to purchase a small amp & microphone for my daughter. We ended up buying a great little, affordable Fender amp & Samson Microphone. Danny showed us how to properly use both pieces. Over all I found my experience with Danny's to be pleasant, he was quick with the repair, very friendly & helpful and his prices were very reasonable. I would recommend you visit Danny's Amp Service for all your repair needs and I will always check with Danny before going anywhere else to buy equipment. read more

My husband has used Danny's amp service in the past this was when the business was his father's and it was worth going to. Danny is a crook we took our amps to him back in February for service he told us our parts were on back order after months of waiting for our parts to come in he tells us that the parts are discontinued. He said he will look elsewhere to see if he could find the parts needless to say the parts did arrive he fixed our amp's and sold them and pocketed our money now he claims that are amps were stolen from in his vehicle from in front of his house. He called himself cutting a deal with us trying to sell us the garbage in the back of his shop and asking us for another $369 to cover the cost of his merchandise when in all actuality he is the one that owes us money we will be seeing him in court. Jim Walton is no better. I have a vintage Fender amp he repaired. He claimed work was done, and upon looking at the chassis some of the work ( which I have a receipt for) simply was not done, but charged, and also not done well. He replaced pots when they didnt need to be changed, and used some NON factory resistors on them for what reason I can't fathom. Also saying a filter cap job was done and replacing only 2 of 4 and with cheap china made garbage that in less than a year need replacing. I have heard good things about Jim Walton, but I have NOT seen anything physical to back it up--and he would NOT stand behind the work claiming he couldn't remember working on it.
