Really disappointing guitar center experience. My boyfriend and I are frequent GC shoppers and recently moved to TN so this was our first and last time at this store. The first thing you see when you walk in the doors is the gift card display with at least 40 cards on the ground surrounding it. Unlike every other GC store, no one greeted us when we walked in, not a single associate interacted with us the entire half hour we were in the store. We were looking for several things and the selection was dismal. There was only one studio subwoofer option new and is priced well over what competitors sell it for and over $150 more than what JBL sells it for directly. We then looked for a USB interface and the one we were hoping to purchase was only available for the windows compatibility, once again no associate to help obtain the Mac version. We then went to look for vinyl cartridges, the selection was also extremely poor. We were going to settle for one of the Numark options but there was only one in the case and we have two matching turntables, yet again no associate to help obtain two matching or the item we actually wanted. After failing to find what we were looking for on our own and having no associate help us, we contemplated driving a half hour to another GC store without knowing if they had what we were looking for since there was not an associate to help us see nearby store inventory, we went across the street to Sam Ash and had incredible customer service but unfortunately they did not have all the items we were hoping to purchase in stock either. It's a shame to be heading somewhere planning on purchasing over $1,000 in equipment and leave empty handed due to poor customer service. For the first time in about 20 years GC is no longer my go to for music equipment, I'm even considering canceling my GC credit card after this. read more

It's good to have competition for Sam Ash. I like Sam Ash, but having competition helps consumers so I'm happy we have Guitar Center for that. What I don't like about this new location is the selection in the drum department is next to nothing. Not a single Paiste cymbal in sight!?! I didn't pay much attention to anything else cuz I'm a drummer and that's what I care about. If you're looking for something basic or maybe just some small accessories it's probably okay, but for me I'll stick with musiciansfriend.com or Sam Ash if their price is right. read more

Thanks for proving my point and still being the worst music equipment store. They have nearly no good gear, it is either super cheap terrible quality or in the thousands. They have very very few models of anything. Sound wise if you buy a guitar there you are an idiot because you more than likely can't hear how good or bad anything sounds. Also, they thankfully stole the terrible acoustic guitar guy from the great shop next door. He is not interested in you if you take time from my experience to pick out gear or aren't buying a couple thousand dollar guitar. The place across the street has better people, way more selection (at better prices) and the ability to actually listen to what you may buy instead of struggling over some deaf idiot turned up to 11. read more

My drummer stopped into this store today 12-26-2018. He recently moved to the area and wanted to buy some high hats. He asked to try 3 or 4 sets so he could decide what to spend his money on. The employee told him they would be willing to let him try out 2 sets. Bad move. He walked out of the store and spent nothing there. He wont go back. Do we really need to wonder why box stores like Guitar Center are closing their doors due to customers moving toward internet purchasing of musical equipment??? If I can't try out the equipment I want to buy, why go to GC when the internet is so much less of a hassle. My drummer is a 50 yr old guy. Has a great job. Dresses well and is well spoken. He builds drums as a hobby. He has many drum sets and often sells them after constructing them. He knows the lingo and can play quite well. So why in Gods name would any employee with at least an average IQ chase this guy out of the store? I have been in a band with him for 6 months and he has spent at least 5 grand on music and light accessories. He doesn't know I left this review and he most likely never will. I just had to say something as I personally know how much cash this guy spends on equipment. What a mistake the guys at GC made this time. My drummer is exactly the type of customer GC needs to keep the doors open. There is no hope for GC. It will soon be gone. read more

Steven, I'm the store manager at this new location. First off, I'd like to thank you for reviewing my store. Any feedback is good feedback. I will take any feedback I see or hear and use it to better the experience for any customer that walks through our doors. I will be checking Yelp, Google and other review places on my own time to make sure I stay up to date on what people are saying about my store. Secondly, I'm sorry you didn't get that great of an impression of our store on your visit. I saw that you posted this 20 days ago which was right during our Grand Opening weekend and it was really crazy in here. I just wanted to let you know that we are more than happy to take care of you with pricing. If our prices aren't the cheapest, I'll beat any price you can find. Even if our friends across the street are offering something lower, I will beat it. As far as being able to hear, we do try and make a fun and inviting atmosphere for everyone. Unfortunately, it can get loud at times. However, if you are trying to hear a specific sound totally in any instrument you are trying and you can't hear it, I'd be happy to take you or anyone else to our rehearsal room. It's a quiet, sound proof space you can test what you'd like to buy. As far as our inventory goes, we are actually about to start getting a lot of really cool guitars and keyboards. We got our newest batch of guitars in yesterday. As the weeks progress prior to our Grand Opening, we will continue to get more higher end equipment. Next time your around, come see me. I'd be happy to make your next visit a better one. I work Tuesday- Saturday until 5pm. I also welcome anyone that has any feedback regarding my store to review us. This store literally just opened, but from what I can tell, the staff here is AWESOME! They had every chance during the grand opening to act unprofessional or to ignore me as a customer, but they made sure to help me and show me the attention I needed while juggling so many things at once! The entire store is about the size of my house. The staff couldn't care less about my purchase and the customer services is practically non existent. I'm greeted and taken care of better at my local Walmart. I would absolutely recommend going to the Sam Ash Music Center across the street. The location is massive and the staff are incredibly helpful. read more
