My husband is a diabetic senior citizen who went to see Dr. Wodka today for a painful, ingrown toenail. This podiatrist insisted that my husband pay him $70 for the visit. My husband protested, stating that Medicare would pay and that our federally funded employee health insurance would pick up anything that Medicare didn't pay. Dr. Wodka grew angry and stated, "I'm not going to argue with you. No insurance is going to pay me for taking care of your feet, diabetic or not! You go find someone else to break the law and incorrectly charge the insurance company, but I won't do it! Furthermore, I'm not going to treat you! Good-bye! You can leave now!" Like a spoiled, unhappy child, Dr. Wodka stormed out of the treatment room. My husband and I were stunned. We had previously felt his wrath when Dr. Wodka examined my feet and was belligerent and belittling in his tone when he chastised me for the condition of my feet. I cried in the hallway afterwards and told the staff that he was cruel and nasty to me. One of his staff smiled weakly, and stated, "He gets that way because he's passionate about feet." The only reason that I referred my diabetic husband to Dr. Wodka despite the verbal abuse I received from him is because he did diagnose my foot condition and he did provide proper treatment. We gave him a second, and third chance. Alas, his motto is money or no treatment! He sent my husband away in pain. For this reason, if I could give him less than 1 star, that's what he deserves. Shame on Dr. Wodka!
