This is an absolutely fabulous small zoo! The grounds were clean and it was not over crowded so we could actually see all of the animals without getting elbowed by strangers. The animal enclosures were grade A with animals kept in areas as closely resembling their natural habitats as possible. We took the train through several open areas where the animals were separated by waterways and cattle panels. Most of them had free reign to travel from one area to another. There were also several opportunities to interact with the animals both by meeting them within their enclosures with a keeper or by feeding some of the more docile animals. That said, it was the zoo keepers who made this experience all that it was. We met Newt near the Tamarin enclosures. She spent several minutes telling us about the primates and birds. She loves what she does and her enthusiasm is contageous! We also spent a chunk of time talking to the sloth keeper - sadly, I cannot recall his name. He was very interesting to talk to and gave us a whole new appreciation for the different types of sloths. We highly recommend this zoo! read more

New year's re-zoo-lution? More family time at the Gulf Breeze Zoo! The zoo is impressively clean. The animals & their habitats are all very well-cared for. My 1 and 2 year old toddlers enjoyed the train ride (about 15-minutes long), the "feeding zone" (they fed the camels, giraffes, goats, and pigs). I was also thankful for the two playgrounds within the zoo. One playground is for the younger toddlers while the other is much taller for the older kiddos. The zoo also offers animal encounters for the giraffes, indian rhinos, hippo, sloth, alligator, and galapagos tortoise. I'm hoping to try the sloth encounter during our next visit. We had such a great time at the Gulf Breeze Zoo & look forward to returning! read more

A really fun zoo experience. We found so many animals that are fun to interact with and see. We were really sad to miss the ginormous bull. But we found a giant Koi on this trip and the new, reimagined bird area where you get to interact with so many birds is great! Bring a hat, wear your sunscreen, neck fans, and maybe even a SPF umbrella, but there is ample shade! read more

Gulf Breeze Zoo is one of the better zoos I've visited recently. It seems more hands on and better for small children. Most animal enclosures are closer and lower, for toddlers to get a good look at things. It's a clean zoo and it's a decent size. Good selection of animals and they all seem happy and taken care of. Some of the monkeys got close up to the glass and entertained us a lot. Train ride was short and not many good views. There was a driver of the train but they didn't speak or show any excitement or even talk to anyone. There was a narration on the speaker. The zoo could definitely be bigger, and elephants are missing so those are the downsides. Also the staff seems disinterested especially in the gift shop. Overall, it's a great zoo but the staff could be a little more excited and interactive with visitors. read more

Really great zoo! Check it out when they first open- beat the crowds and the heat, and you'll probably get to see some feedings. The train that lets you see the guerrillas was totally worth it. Highly recommend a visit when you're down on the gulf. read more

Absolutely one of my favorite places to go in Gulf Breeze and one of the best activities to do with kids. The animals are beautiful, the spaces are well kept and always being updated or worked on to be better. The caretakers are kind and knowledgeable :) We come here at least once every two weeks and have a year round pass. My only complaints are that the entrance doors and the exit doors need the handicap buttons--the entrance to the Zoo and both entrance and exit of the gift shop. There are times when we have a wagon or a stroller and it is a struggle to get in and out someone has to help us. And the last complaint is that there is nowhere to fill up a water bottle except in the gift shop water fountain and it does not taste very good. The family and I visited the Zoo today and we had a fantastic time. The bird sanctuary is where it's at! My daughter was fascinated. We could barely pry her away, but she quickly found her way to the goats and giraffes where she was able to feed and pet them. The animals appeared well cared for and the personnel was friendly. I highly recommend taking your little ones here or if you're an animal lover this place is for you. read more

Quaint little 50 acre zoo with a good selection of animals and fun experiences. It can get pricey quickly if including the animal experiences, awesome experiences feeding animals and bird feeding. Worth a couple hours out of your day to see some animals on the gulf. read more

I came here while in town since there was double red flags and we were unable to get into the water. Parking is spacious here and you will never have trouble finding a parking space. I was even able to back my van under a tree for shaded parking. Admission here is $27.50 for adults, $25.94 for seniors 65+, $20.95 for children 2 and over, and free for children under 2. They also give 15% off for Law Enforcement and Military. I will just say that this is a cute little Zoo if you have children. It's not crowded and you can go by your pace. There isn't many animals here but a few are definitely worthwhile the price alone. I really enjoyed the interaction with the giraffes. For a small zoo, they got a ton of giraffes. I counted 7+. I got to feed the giraffe and also pet them. It was amazing as they are such sweet animals. There was no line so I got all the time in the world. It was very hot when I was here (felt like 104F) One thing I didn't like was there was not many restrooms throughout the zoo. There also was no concession stands for drinks. There were drunk machines around the park but they didn't work. I lost 25 cents on one of the machine affer I put in $1.00. I saw the tiger and lion as they both were sleeping in the tree. Alligators were pretty cool. The train was the best part as it took you through the African animals which Includef the rhino and hippopotamus . There is restaurant inside that serves fast food. They have refillable soft drinks but don't give you lids or straws because the safety of the animals. The gift shop is decent and has a ton of stuffed animals for kids. All in all, I would definitely recommend this zoo if your in town and looking for something to do other than the beach. And if you little ones, it's a must! They will love it! read more

Really enjoyed all the animals and there habitats. Learning things about the different animals along the way, as well as getting to feed several of animals. I like this zoo a lot, I was a member before but ended up not renewing anymore after few times ladies from the front thinking I'm lying that my 1 yr old is 2. I usually go with my 12yr old son and my 1 yr old toddler. Really fun zoo, basically a petting zoo with all the animals you get to pet and feed! So fun you can feed ducks and there's an enclosure with birds that you can feed and they land on your arm, there is also goats you can feed and giraffes. Just a great experience altogether. read more

We purchased a membership here last year and we've gone multiple times since then. Definitely worth buying a membership if you live near (we live 25mins away) The animals are well taken care of and aren't forced to "entertain" the staff is great about the property upkeep and this zoo has a great playground and train ride as well. I was going to come here regardless, but the advertised zoo size and animal variety were extra appealing. Before I even entered, I was very disappointed seeing that I was not allowed to bring my outside water in on the hot day. They use the Florida weather and their rules to make money by forcing people to buy their expensive drinks. I was forced to purchase a drink from the vending machine for $3. Upon entering, it didn't feel like there were as many animals as advertised. They are all pretty well spread out over the 50 acres. We spent a long time at each animal and still were there for only two hours. With all of that being said, I love how interactive the zoo is with all of the feeding and petting opportunities for a premium price you can have an encounter with premium animals. I recommend buying one of each of the food items offered because it makes the experience so fun. Do not waste all of the food on the alligators at the start because there are more animals to feed along the way. This was a great way to do something other than the beach. read more

Really enjoyed this zoo experience with my kids. I think they provided a great variety of things to do on our visit. It helped keep us somewhat cool on a really hot summer day! We fed the goats, giraffes (absolutely the best part) and alligators. The giraffes were close up, friendly, gentle and beautiful giants. The look of amazement on my kids faces as the giraffes wrapped their long tongues around the lettuce in their hands was priceless! My oldest tossed food to the gators, who were feeling pretty lazy, but watching them snap at the food was a reminder of why you stay far away from them!! There were so many animals to check out and watching my youngest, who was seeing many of them for the first time, was unforgettable! The train ride through and around the island habitat was very educational, plus you get to see all of the animals in that area of the zoo on ground level. The boardwalk provides a great over head view of most of the same area. The most active animals on this hot day were the various monkey's, anteaters, Scottish highland cows and the two young tigers Toby & Indra, who were really playful and vocal with each other. The gift shop was air conditioned and had a lot soft stuffed animals. My youngest has a cute stuffed giraffe as a keepsake of his favorite part of our visit. Do NOT skip a visit here if you're in the area. It was worth the price of admission and gave us unforgettable family memories! read more

What a great zoo! We had such a great time at this zoo. We purchased tickets once we arrived and added the feed bundle to feed the goats, birds, and giraffes. It was $12. Adults are a little over $20, my 8 year old was $17 and kids under 2 are free. I must commend the staff with keeping the zoo impeccably clean. It was immaculate. I didn't see any trash and the grounds were beautiful. All of the animal areas were great and the kids loved it. The train is a plus but due to lines and some not wearing masks, we decided not to go on it. The sloths were just adorable and probably my favorite animal at the zoo. The lion was cool and I felt like we were very close to it and not far away like some other zoos. The Cafe was great. We loved out slushies, and the $3 refill is a great deal. The Pavillion by the Cafe was great for cooling off and letting the kids play on the playground. We will definitely come back and visit again. This is a nice, home town zoo. I found it to be clean and laid out pretty well. They had a good cross-section of animals from around the world with great signage to tell you all about them. There's some construction throughout the park, but it didn't interfere too much with the visit. I did think the large cats could have used a little more space, but I'm no expert in what they actually need. I did think it was pretty expensive, but they all seem to be these days. Been to quite a few zoos in my time with kids and this one is a good one. Yes, there are much bigger zoos out there with a larger selection of animals, but this one has its pros. Its smallish, but well laid out and little walking time between enclosures/attractions. The enclosures are well done and the animals seem well cared for. Signage is great also. The petting zoo part and bird feeding enclosure are a hit with kids as it allows them to get up close and personal with the animals. Its not just for kids though. Its a shaded (mostly) and nice walking path for adults and would make a great date location. read more

This zoo is ideal for kiddos with places to feed giraffes, birds, goats, etc. They have most of the usual suspects with exception to no longer having bears. The train is free and a huge hit with the kids as well as the playground to burn off energy. The staff is incredible - my son recently skinned his knee pretty bad and they immediately brought plenty of bandages, ice, and anything we needed. We get season passes every year and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. read more

Our family loves this zoo. We've been many times. It's small but makes for a fun trip. There are so many opportunities to feed the animals. As my kid pointed out, since the animals get fed, they tend to stay right up next to the railings, interacting with the visitors. It makes for a more run visit. The budgies are our favorite, but we also fed the goats, sheep, and giraffe. I wanted to feed the alligators, maybe next time! Even in the intense heat, it was doable. The pathways are shady, and there are misters for the animals that keep them outside rather than hiding in their enclosure. The train ride was pleasant and included with admission. When my kids were little we paid extra to hang out with the baby kangaroos which was so cool. They have a variety of animal experiences for extra $$. read more

This zoo has so much to offer. It is very well shaded also! The train ride had a great presentation about the animals you ride past. I highly recommend. The zoo is kept very clean. Animals are very well taken care of. The staff is very friendly. We had a Keeper Talk with a McCaw and the keeper was very nice, willingly to answer all the kids questions nicely, shared knowledge that I didn't know or haven't heard at other zoos. The Cafe is worth it. You are welcome to bring your own food but not bring it into the zoo. There is a picnic area outside the zoo that is nice. Check and make sure this zoo accepts your other zoo memberships at other zoos. read more

My daughter (23) and I are in Pensacola for the weekend and were looking for something to do not beach related. We stumbled upon this zoo and decided to visit and I'm so glad we did. We had a great day visiting and petting all the animals. The zoo was clean and all the animals were out and about playing and sun bathing. It was a hot, sunny day but luckily they have lots of shady spots and benches throughout the park. We also took the educational train ride around the park (included in entrance fee). We got there around 11:30 and were having such a great time we didn't realize we had been there for 4 hours. I definitely recommend visiting this zoo if you're in the Pensacola area. read more

I'd give 4.5 stars if Yelp would let me! We came midweek in mid-April and there were so many babies out in the exhibits; it was all so adorable! You could buy buckets to feed the different animals including giraffes, highland cows, a variety of goats, and many birds, plus there were plenty of active areas right around 10 when we got there - seems like it was feeding time for all the critters. We saw nearly every animal on display - only ones we missed were the bear, the zebras, and another safari animal I forgot the name of. The train ride took us through more habitats (the train ride is now free too!) but it was VERY hard to hear what the guide was saying. My boyfriend was a bit disappointed too as the reptile and amphibian habitats are so few - there's a couple tortoises on exhibit, but that was about it there. read more
