I was referred by my family dentist here for my root canal. It's my first time in this location and I'm pleasantly surprised at how well this place is being ran. For all you first timers, this office is located inside the big building that has the big sign Texas Bank. I thought I was in the wrong place and called in to verify if GPS took me to the right one. GPS was right and they're on the 2nd floor, right past the pediatric office. I got a call the day before from their office personnel explaining my benefits (how much insurance is paying and how much is my out-of-pocket). I was scheduled for a later time in the afternoon, but since they have an opening at 11 am, the nice lady asked if I would like to take the 11 am spot. Of course, i gladly took it. It didn't take long after I filled out the forms to being ushered inside. The dental assistant, Jodi took very good care of me. She has a cheerful personality that made me feel at ease. I hate dental visits but somehow she made feel like there's nothing to worry about. Dr. Mike did my root canal and he was very thorough and careful. It's an overall great experience for me. I came down with a cold over the weekend. I had an appointment for 10:00am today but called at 8:00am to cancel because the office is not open on the weekend. I was told that I would be charged a $50.00 cancellation fee. I told the receptionist that the office is closed so how was I supposed to call. She stated that was the policy. I will not be paying the cancellation fee because coming down with a cold was not something I could have prevented. read more

Jason Shroyer and his assistant (I wish I recall her name but I had a couple procedures and was distracted by my situation) They were both excellent and Dr J. Shroyer was clear in his explanations of what I had, what would be done, and exactly how it would be done. Before, during, and after they were a comfortable guide and were able to accommodate the need that I needed prompt procedures. He and his assistant were highly efficient. The service was fine (a root canal is a root cbut there charges are ridiculously high. I called to see if they could help with their rate just a little to help out a military disabled veteran. Their solution was to charge my ex wife as they know I'm still responsible for paying her back. Unscrupulous if you ask me. Look for somewhere else if your insurance isn't that great. There are cheaper and just as good endodontist in the area. I will update this review with any resolution or lack thereof. Not a happy customer. (UPDATE) - No resolution to my problem. They must have a helper that responds to people to make it seem like they care. I went in for my first-ever root canal, and Dr. Matthew Haddad and his staff in the Pasadena location did a great job making me feel at ease and explained the procedure as much I as wanted. The facility was clean, the staff was extremely nice and patient with my questions. I left without noticeable pain and while I hope I don't have to go back for another procedure, I won't have any qualms about doing so. My only complaint is that they were showing political commentary on the television in the waiting room - they might have changed the station if I had asked, but the wait was so short that it really wasn't a bother. read more

Even at age 73, I never have had a root canal before. Based on what I THOUGHT it would be like I was dreading the appointment. But every aspect of the visit was positive! From the moment the dental tech first met me and explained the process until the doctor was finished (with a thorough, patient explanation of each step in the process) - well, it was ALMOST a relaxing experience. This was four mornings ago - and there has been no post-process pain at all, not a need to take a single pill of any kind. I recommend them without reservation! read more

After drilling and digging around for half an hour, Dr. Mark said "I can't do this root canal" and left the room. His assistant removed the junk from my mouth and told me the tooth must have "calcified". The dentist eventually returned to say the infection would have to be taken care of from the top, apparently thru the gum(?). Or I could have the tooth pulled. With this in mid, I checked out. Imagine my surprise when hey presented a bill for $700.00 For nothing. It seems to me the patient should be warned of this possibility before doing anything. since I'm 86, I suppose most of me is "calcified". I would have opted for the pulling straight away and saved the $$$$. No apologies from the DR. read more

I was referred to GCE by my regular dentist for an emergency root canal after just having a temporary crown put in. My last recollection of a root canal was not a fond memory. It was easy to recognize that this practice was all about patient care and comfort. It starts with a cheerful greeting at the reception desk. They do have a hidden gem at this practice that doesn't appear on the web site or the Facebook page. That gem is Dr. Meredith Overstreet. Immediately she tries to make a connection with the patient to put them at ease. Her technique and manner reduced my anxiety by 100%. Every action taken by Dr. Overstreet and the staff was about making you comfortable, from the ceiling mounted television and earphones to the tentative dental assistants working with the dentist. I would recommend this practice hands down over anyone else. They deserve 8 stars but I could only give them 5 here. read more

Worst dental experience ever. I am sure the manage to delete the negative reviews. They accused me of coming in at the wrong time for my apt, kept on talking about this for a long time, repeatedly asked about the referral (which turns out they already had, but wanted to know why my dentist want to speak to their dentist). Discriminating front desk staff. I came from about an hour away and waited for FULL ONE HOUR, and they would never offer estimated wait time, or show me where the restroom is. They have you spell your name and date of birth infront of everyone. This is HIPA violation. The doctor is even worse (Dr. Matthew Haddad). He was absolutely careless and asked me the same questions over and over. He forgot the answers because he just wanted to get out of there and go to the next patient. I would not have my dog go their. They treat you like crap unless you are exactly their profile. read more

I was referred to Gulf Coast by my general dentist to have a tooth that I had previously had a root canal 10 yrs ago checked out. Of course I was dreading it and waited until my tooth got worse and ended up getting infected! When I finally went, I was told I would need to have the root canal redone. But I'm happy to say the staff and doctors were all great and it was painless. They even let you put headphones on and watch tv while they do the root canal. That helped ease my nerves.
