I would no come back to this place, and I wouldn't let my parents go here either. My experience is…read more1) They overcharge and Don't Credit 2) Long Waits 3) Pain. 4) Don't educate you (the patient) Thing I noticed that may be helpful to you: 1) They advertise it's Dr Powers' office, but I asked for him, and was not allowed to see him, it's someone else 2) They pay for positive reviews. After your appointment, you get a text & email offering a $20 gift card for a positive review by clicking the link. The software only posts the positive reviews Context: I'm a diabetic and have been getting regular shots in my eyes in Virginia. I was visiting Florida and went to this office to continue getting my same treatment just during my visit to Florida. 1) Overcharge They require you to pay what they deem your "copay" is up front before your visit. I visited in February. Office insisted they collect from me: $426.10 Patient responsibility on my EOB: $207.25 As of August, I still do not have my $200+ credit back. Up until June they said my insurance was still processing, now they've acknowledged they owe me but their response is now "oh they haven't fixed it in the system yet". 2) Long Waits In Virginia, my appointments took 45 mins to 1 hour. At this office, my appointments lasted 2.5-3.5 hours. 3) Painful: -In Virginia, they use Betadine as an antibacterial to clean my eye prior to my shot. No irritation or issues -At this office, they use some other solution which was irritating for 3 days. All their pateints experience this so they also provide you with a prescription to treat the irritation it causes. 4) Don't Educate You None of the staff explains the tests they are performing or why. When I asked, they said "oh we have to". A simple intro of Who-What-Why (I'm ----, we're going to do ---- test, and that will tell the doctor ----) would be nice. This has dragged on so long now that I've been keeping a record. Since my appointment: --I've received 3 wrong bills asking for more money. When I call to inquire they say something along the lines of "oh you shouldn't have received that, I'll let them know, your bill is still pending." --I've called 8 times --I've emailed 6 times This started in February and is still ongoing. I'll keep this updated since this continues to drag on. 8/18/23 - Only way I was able to get this resolved was to call the office and ask for the manager's name, then google that name and find their work email address, and email them directly. This is finally resolved, 6 months after my appointment.

I went to this establishment expecting top treatment from a specialist, but I was sadly…read more disappointed by almost every aspect! First, my intake was ignored, as I had written down all of my allergies to not only medications, but food coloring as well! The drops used to dilate my sensitivity eyes were loaded with yellow dye #5! I noticed a white clouded effect in my vision for many hours past my 2:15 p.m. visit, well past 11 p.m. along with swelling and itching and redness that lasted into the following day! I looked up the drops used for dilation and found out they contain the dye. The woman who did my intake put the drops in minutes later! That was the beginning of my nightmare. The doctor questioned why I was using two eye drops for glaucoma when I don't have it. My previous eye specialist had me on them for years for a Condition in my right eye, after my retina tore, to keep the pressure down. This doctor wanted me to go off them for several weeks to see if the pressure went high, indicating glaucoma? No. I know my last doctor was treating me for something different. Then it came time to discuss eyeglasses. My insurance allow me one pair of glasses per year at ZERO CO-PAY! With anti scratch, tinted lenses and even progressives for nothing extra! The woman at the desk insisted that I was wrong, saying, "your insurance never gives you a free pair!" Well, yes they do and I got a pair last year for free, all the bells and whistles! Even a trip focal is covered, zero co-pay! So, I just called my insurance provider and requested a printable copy of my vision benefit and it's in black and white, FREE! BEWARE! They gave me a list of only eyeglass/ opticians they use and told me I had to pick one of them! My insurance company said, "you pick a good place you're comfortable with and takes our vision plan (most local places do!) and we'll cover the glasses 100%!" Yay me, yay to my insurance company! Thank God I knew better! Find another reputable eye specialist!
