Asked for blackened fish that was offered on the menu. Fish was burnt on the grill with no seasoning on the fish. Blackened fish and burnt fish are not the same. Was very disappointed and the only saving grace was the waitress. read more

First time trying this place after the fire remodeling. Looking at the menu, I thought the prices were too high, but my wife still wanted to eat here. We placed an order online, which was convenient. I ordered a three fried combo because I wanted to sample different items. I selected the fried grouper, fried shrimp, and crab cake. My side was the friend okra and steamed veggies. First, I received large portions of grouper, three big pieces, the shrimp were jumbo sized, and one crab cake. Everything was fried well but I didn't really care for the fried okra. The steamed veggies were really good. Overall, I think for how much I got, it lines up with the cost. This easily makes 2 meals. They do have a grilled or blackened option for the fish, so I will try that next and update my review. The menu was a little confusing when trying to figure out the combos. While waiting in line to pick up my order, I could see that others trying to order were also confused. For fried seafood, this is a good option. read more

Check your order in all details at least three times, before paying. As we discovered, once you pay your chances of correcting an order is low. We immediately went to the register after we saw an error on our ticket, and the restaurant refused to change our order. The shrimp and catfish are just OK, nothing special, and the coleslaw is too creamy. Gumbo is average. Will not return. read more

This review is for the MARKET, not the restaurant that has a separate entrance & hours. (Hopefully after notification, Yelp will remove all the restaurant reviews & pics from this page.) This seafood market is a SMALL OPERATION, but the seafood is FRESH. While we visited New Year's Eve day at 10 AM, the following was available for purchase: Shucked Oyster Dip (13 containers); Smoked Tuna Dip (6 containers); Lump Crab (5 containers); three varieties of raw shrimp (normally four); & four varieties of fresh fish (but a very limited number of planks). There appeared to be eight or so other types of fish that were @ one time available-- slim pickings today, but that may be due to the Christmas & New Year's holidays. PRICING: Tuna Dip was $10.20 (definitely higher in price than @ local Greater Tampa Bay markets). Raw, de-veined shrimp was $10.20 per lb. Raw shrimp that was not de-veined was $9.99 per lb. Royal Reds (shell-on) sold @ $9.99 per lb. The Lump Crab was $27.99. Catfish was $5 for a .5 lb plank while a one lb of Snapper was approx $22.38. None of the dips; the Lump Crap; nor any of the fish was marked w/ prices. Only the shrimp was marked. For me, that's a big negative & easily remedied by management. The owner of this seafood market is the brother of Joe Patti who owns the huge market across town; @ one time they were in business together. Unlike Joe Patti's market, this one has an attached restaurant. (The restaurant was closed while we were @ the market.) Will I return to this market? I was visiting from Tampa & wanted to grab fresh seafood before leaving town. While I'm thankful I was able to find something, the limited quantities & lack of pricing don't give me great cause to rush back here. But I may check the place out again; I air fried my piece of Catfish & it was very fresh & excellent. I ended up here because Joe Patti's was packed (wall-to-wall people) the night before & the wait would have been over an hour. read more

Don't get excited if you want fancy with a view because this is not it. This is for those who just want some darn good seafood- mostly fried. The portion sizes are plenty. Order and grab a cup and fill your own (no alcohol served here FYI). The gumbo is really good, if you lucky you might get the special crawfish étouffée- wow is that some good stuff. A very casual place with excellent food. This place gets pretty busy around dinner time, and the line to order food at the counter can get long, but it moves pretty fast. Order and pay at the counter, take your number and find a table, and a server will bring your food to you. The portions are generous and the seafood is delicious and cooked perfectly. We've eaten there only twice so far but will definitely be eating there again soon. I've ordered the grilled grouper and mahi mahi with fries and other sides and they've all been fresh, served hot, and nicely prepared. The prices are very reasonable for seafood, and they have a few other items on the menu, like burgers, for non-seafood eaters. Attached to the restaurant is a seafood market with lots of fresh fish and other sea-swimming creatures for sale. Come and enjoy! read more
