I heard local tell that this place was great for gluten free (celiac here). I was not disappointed. One of the bartenders, Mattie greeted us and cheerfully answered our questions. She said that the mac & cheese and the buns are the ONLY things in the restaurant that are NOT gluten free. You order at the counter/bar where the ladies are, and they give you a number for the table, then the food comes out (it was fast). I had a dozen garlic-parm oysters and we also got three of the happy hour taco specials, mullet, shrimp and pork belly. Every taco was delicous. Seafood lightly fried and still juicy inside. Oysters were fresh and well prepared. They also feature the namesake frozen cocktail which we tried, and it had an appreciable kick to it. Their boat dock area is all brand spanking new and has lots of spots in it. If you are gluten sensitive or celiac, you cannot afford to miss Bushwhacker landing. On the way home we were discussing going back again, and other stuff we want to try.

This is a hidden gem in Perdido Key! We went on Cinco de Mayo and ordered from their special Cinco de Mayo menu. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. You order at the bar and the food is delivered to your table. Shortly after we ordered, the food was brought out by a very attentive and polite server. The menu is unique and has some amazing gluten free options. The drinks were great and we especially enjoyed the Palomas we had. There was indoor and outdoor seating, live music and a fantastic atmosphere. In my opinion, this is EXACTLY the type of place Perdido has been missing. We will definitely be back!

Our first time here and we will be back! Great atmosphere and the food was amazing! It was a great little hang spot and is boat accessible!

We decided to come here based on the reviews of other Yelpers and it did not let us down! The atmosphere is really cool, and I loved looking around at all the dollar bills left behind by other diners over the years. We ordered the Hub Sampler so we got to try a little bit of every classic fried item on the menu. It included fried mushrooms, pickles, mozzarella, and then corn fritters. It was great and had something for everyone! Each of us ordered a sandwich and then one chef salad to split. Because we were also eating a sandwich, the salad was big enough for 4 people to share. It was really big for an entree salad! Everything was good and fresh. My husband and I split The Main Street with potato salad. It's a yummy take on a club sandwich. The standout of the entire meal though was the potato salad. It is a must try. I haven't stopped thinking about it since and I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a to go order to bring back home with me! I will be recommending this spot to everyone looking for casual dining in the area. If I ever find myself vacationing in the area again, this will be my first stop for a meal!

I can't say enough about our service. It was just phenomenal. We were seated right away and it was pointed out to us that there were happy hour drinks, which we were thrilled about. This will now become one of our destinations because there's so many great places to eat in the area. So glad we finally stopped in. Thank you to the jellyfish for a phenomenal experience

The biggest surprise was being charged $41 for a 1/2-pound order of basic crab claws as an appetizer. When we politely asked about the price because it seemed unusually high, instead of receiving a simple explanation, we felt we were treated disrespectfully. The response came across as dismissive, with comments that made us feel looked down upon for asking about our bill. Between the average food, unfriendly service, and what we felt were excessive prices, this was a very disappointing dining experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning.

My advice, find a seat, have someone order at the order window, then head to the bar to order drinks. The wait to order food took about a half hour. It was very quick to get our drinks. We were able to snag a couch area on a platform. It was so comfy and we loved the views. A heads up- if you snag a couch like this, kids will get up on the platform and jump off of it. People will step up on the platform and walk extremely close to you. I had to ask a kid to stop throwing sand by us because we were eating our dinner. It was a little chaotic. We were extremely patient and understand, but I could see some people being very upset and annoyed. After ordering, our food came out pretty quick. I started with the coconut grouper bites and they were phenomenal. Light breading, lightly sweat, and flaky. I had the Gulf Grilled Cobia and it was phenomenal. The fish was tender, flaky, and light. No fishiness at all. The sauce on the fish was also delightful. My husband and son had the fajita skewers and both enjoyed them. My husband also had the peel and eat shrimp and said they were amazing at The Gulf. Our drinks were okay. We had better drinks at other places during the week, but they weren't bad. We would return, but try to come on an off-time that wasn't so busy.
