My son had a seam open up on his wrapped furniture and called Mike at Lukens. Mike told him he was out of town for a family wedding but would come by the following week to address the issue. He never came to resolve the issue. Today I opened up our patio furniture and there was easily 3" of water pooled on the bottom of the shrink wrap packaging and there were decayed leaves in the shrink wrapping as well. Clearly the shrink wrap wasn't properly sealed at the time it was applied. There was rusty water running out of the legs of the patio table and bench. My deck has visible signs of rust stains from where the water accumulated and came in contact with the furniture frames. Covering the pieces with furniture covers in prior years wasn't a good solution. The covers would blow off and water would penetrate. I expected a more professional outcome by choosing to shrink wrap the pieces. Clearly that was not the outcome we received. I won't use or recommend Lukens Marine Services for shrink wrapping in the future.

Coincidentally, unknown to me a friend told me he also uses Kehls for winter storage and couldn't be happier. Anyways, throughout the process I came to know his 2 brothers Mike and Joe as well as Joe's wife Anne whom handled the closing. From 2020 on, I have had only an excellent experience with the ENTIRE Kehl family. They sell family boats as well as fishing boats. While he was trying to access the carb (it's a pretty old but cool boat), I was already on Yelp looking for help. The fellas at Kehl's were as cool as a cucumber and as nice as my uncles. We tried a few more things but to no avail. We simply cracked a couple colds ones and waited a short while for them to arrive and tow us back to their marina. While I didn't ask him how much they charged for their work, I do know they were able to get her fired up the next day and he was pretty pleased with it all. I don't own my own boat yet (aside from canoes/kayaks), but when I do, I'm surely glad I now know of a friendly, reliable and honest boat mechanic/ marina nearby!

That is normal. I do not know what engine you have but I can tell you that 6 Yamaha 225hp injectors new are $650 each. It does cost to rebuild them and expensive, check with other certified marinas no a mobile marine Guy that is telling you he rebuilds them himself. That is not something he can do. I would love to see the invoice. Looks like he took labor off. I am retired but in the business for over 45 years and paid my Marine Engineering degree, rebuilding marine engines and drives. I Teach Marine Engine Maintenance for the United States Power Squadron 10 weeks for FREE to any member. I am not partial to any marina or seller of marine items.

Both installations involved wiring and drilling holes for the transducer and the antenna and he carefully installed them and made sure he didn't leave any chance for leaks or corrosion. I talked to Roger about the boat and the outboard and he immediately was able to suggest the areas we should focus on based on his knowledge of the brand and year of the boat and motor. On the day of the survey, Roger showed up early and was ready to get to work. He did a great job going through each part of the boat, asking the owner a number of questions to understand how the boat was used which gave him a better idea of things he should look at. Roger completed a comprehensive review of all the major parts of the boat, asked me what me intentions were with the boat, and the price I was going to pay. He picked up in a few items that needed to be addressed and was immediately able to tell me what the cost would be to repair them. I have used a number of marine mechanics in my years of boating, and Roger is one of the best. Very responsive, and very reasonable with his prices. I would highly recommend him for marine repair!
