I can honestly not reccomend this place enough. My MIL and I came in on Sunday and had just the best experience. My mil has limited mobility but let me tell you that did not stop Ms.Sally for one second. Sally took her time with us, showed us multiple shoes, gave her honest opinion, and even got down on the floor to make sure the shoes were on correct. I've always had a very high instep and a wide toe box making it difficult to find comfortable shoes. I'm now in my senior years and dealing with one foot larger than the other. I went online and found an Ortho shoe that seemed to meet my criteria. That online site led me to Gulf Soles so I emailed the owner. I was quite impressed with the prompt personalized reply from Micheal, the owner of Gulf Soles, but due to unexpected health issues it was 10 months before I could come to his store for a personalized fitting. Unfortunately, the shoe I had inquired about was not available. I could tell right off how much he cares about his customers. He apologized and explained about his ortho shoe line and well trained staff I don't recall her name, but the lady who helped me did an excellent job. We went to the foot machine and I was not only scanned but the report was emailed to me, entirely free. It confirmed my larger left foot, higher instep and wider toe box. The first shoe she pulled from the shelf was the exact style and color I had hoped for. The sole was flexible and it safely gripped the floor. She assessed how it fit and then determined the size I needed for that particular shoe. I walked around the store and, oh my, was it ever comfortable!!! For nearly an hour she helped my daughter and I with fitting various sandal styles, offering to reach out to the Venice store or ordering online if they didn't have our size on hand. I left the store wearing my new comfortable Ortho walking shoes and headed for the garden center. I got home 2 hours later after walking about quite a bit. The tieless sneaker style slipped of comfortably and when I stepped on the tile I missed the wonderful cushioned support of that shoe. I will be returning to Gulf Soles for all my future shoe purchases and bringing my husband. It am delighted to have discovered such knowledgeable, pleasant and helpful staff and to know I can buy well fitting shoes in Englewood, FL, just minutes from my home. read more

Gulf Soles is the only place I want to buy my shoes. All of their footwear is so comfortable. I love their Oofos flip flops and I also have their closed toe shoes that I wear for work. You can't ask for more comfortable shoes. Mike and Susan are very helpful in explaining the differences in the various brands. Once you buy a pair, that's the only place to shop.
