This is a great place to buy a boat trailer. I was looking for a 4 kayak trailer, and they had several in stock. Their main competitor (in Largo) isn't even open on the weekends. While Lecanto is a bit of a drive from Tampa, it was worth it. The service provided was outstanding, friendly, and fast. They made sure all the paperwork was in order, offered a beverage while they processed it, and made sure every trailer connection was checked out before I left. This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. Purchased a new Pontoon boat here in June 2016. 3 months later called and wanted to have a rail fixed since all the decal on 1 side of the boat started turning black & bumps in the paint. Then problems with a lot more things, too much to mention. They made us bring it in & didn't do anything. We just went and picked it up because nothing was being done. We kept calling for over 2yrs and kept getting the run around. They don't tell the truth and after you purchase a boat from them, they no longer care what happens to the boat and will not get it fixed. I would NOT recommend buying a boat from here. This is a very DISHONEST place of business!!!! They will not allow you to watch them do the repairs to your boat or even inform you of why they are needing your boat for so many days, when the repairs shouldn't even take but a day. All this business does is give you the run around & doesn't want to fix the problems on your boat. To me, just because they received your brand-new boat from a manufacturer, this business will not make the repairs on anything, even if you tell them three months after you purchased it from them. It looks like once that new boat leaves their grounds, it no longer has any kind of warranty. read more

Avoid, I drove 2 hours to get there for a sea trial after cutting a deal with Ian the Sales Manager. When I got there the boat looked like crap, it obviously have been sitting in the open for months after the photos were taken. They made no attempt to clean up anything. There were a lot of things not working that were not disclosed. We went to take the boat out, got it in the water and it wouldn't start. When we went back Ian never even acknowledged any problem and didn't apologize. It was quite evident they didn't care about a potential customers time. read more

A couple months ago my husband and I went to try to buy a boat, the boat was $12,700. The credit union who we use would only finance the boat up to $11,000 and it would be 115% loan to value. The credit union also told us that the boat was only worth around $9000. We were going to be putting down $1270 we were only $500 away. My husband called Gulf to Lake Marine back to see if they would would come down at least $300 and we would come to $200, but the manager was rude to my husband and said it would sell for the price they had it at. We ended up going into the store and the manger proceed to getting a screaming match with my husband and said he didnt need our business because they had 2 other telephone offers on the boat. The only good thing I can say about this whole experience is the salesperson we dealt with Johnny was amazing he tried to help us out anyway, even after the manager was rude to my husband and I. read more

They have your standard run of the mill trailers, low quality in my opinion. During inspection of the trailer I was purchasing, the only one they had at the time that fit my needs, had damaged weather stripping at the bottom of the large back door. Not only that, but in less than a year of owning it, the entire left side of the electrical for the lighting has failed, from the tag to the running light to the brake light. Upon inspecting the wiring, there are only 4 thinly insulted unbound wires that dangle under the trailer that run its entire distance, so low that it matches the axle at some points. Furthermore, and this is the best part that I have to thank gulf to lake for, AFTER BREAKING DOWN AND NEEDING TO CHANGE MY SPARE TIRE, I USED THE ONE THEY GAVE ME THE DAY I BOUGHT IT AND IT WAS A WHOLE ONE INCH SMALLER THAN THE ORIGINAL TIRE SET. We went to look at buying a boat and where treated like nothing important to them. We looked at boats at least 45 minutes and no body would speak with us about them. My wife went in to use the rest room and the gentlemen behind the counter was rude in telling where they were located. This place seems to not care about customers and selling their items. Thomas Donovan, I have spent over 30,000 dollars at this business, new boat purchase and batteries for trolling motor and labor, I had one of the trolling motor batteries go bad would not take a full charge, 119.00 dollar battery less than a year old, I call about having it replaced under warranty they tell me they only warranty the deep cycle batteries for six months. That is a line of crap they buy the batteries from Interstate and interstate will replace the battery at no charge up to 12 months. They have lost my business over the lack of integrity it is not the money but the principal. When you have a customer that spends the money I have you don't screw them over something that petty, I will find another dealer to take care of my boat and motor if I can't trust them with a battery how do I know I can trust them with anything else. I will be trading this boat soon and up grading Gulf to lake will not be getting that business. read more

I had been in the search of a Sea Ray Amberjack when I came across the one at Gulf to Lake Marine and Trailer. I was pleased to have found it, even was able to step foot on it during a recent trip to FL. The advertisement sounded great " She is ready to set sail powered by twin Mercruiser 5.0 EFI's with 424 hours." I then spoke with Ian the Sales Manager and asked if everything worked on the boat. He stated "We have rebuilt the generator all systems work." I then told Ian that I would be having the boat surveyed, Ian stated "We don't shy away from surveyors here at Gulf to Lake Marine." So I placed a deposit on the boat and I hired an independent surveyor at $600.00 to come inspect the boat. What the surveyor found out was a total different story than what Ian had told me and advertisement stated. 1. The motor hour meters were not operational. ( how do you know how many hours are on the motors if meter is not operating?) 2. The port motor was flooded by water during launch and would not start for two hours. ( surveyor charges $90 an hour for down time.) 3. Generator would shut down during motor start up. 4. RPM gauges do not work. (you cannot tell how hard the motors are working during load.) 5. Chips in gelcoat 6. A/C not working in cabin, etc. read more
