Four Stars because... Fish! I love to fish and I've NEVER been deep sea fishing! I was hoping to catch The Big One but... we caught 17 Spanish Mackerel and although I've never cooked or eaten this type of fish, "we gon' Werk' it out!" The guys, Brad and Craig I think was his name were great. We didn't have to touch a single fish we caught. I would have liked to take a picture with my catch but it was definitely not a deal breaker. Brad was engaging and made sure that everyone enjoyed the experience, so Kudos to Gulfstream Charters for an amazing time. We'll definitely be doing it again, I think I'll take the little girl with us the next time, she loves to fish too and it will be an awesome experience for her. Great. Professional. Good time. Captain pays attention to the driving of the boat and safety of people on board and the crew member made it enjoyable and was helpful. They cleaned our fish for us too. We brought three kids with us. Bring water, sunblock, Sunday, light loose clothing Please if you are not going to consume the creatures of the sea, let them go. Took a group of 10 of us out on the Gulfstream for a 4 hour trip. We had a great time and caught a bunch of fish including a giant barracuda on literally the last attempt of the trip. Captain Alex and First Mate Pete made sure we had a blast and these guys definitely know what it means to take care of your customers. They were funny, knowledgeable and Pete had some great stories to share as well. Definitely recommend anyone looking to go out on a fishing trip especially if you're not too familiar with fishing esp offshore fishing (these guys took care of everything) to go with the folks at Gulfstream. Brought home 1 spinner shark and 6 barracuda - caught an additional bull shark, 4 other barracudas, 2 tuna, countless mackerel. They are a great crew to go out with and just an overall great company! Just came back from a weekend in Clearwater. Saturday afternoon was spent with Captain Tucker and First Mate Mike on the Gulfstream. A First Class team, that put us onto biting fish in 60 degree water. I will definitely be fishing with these guys again! Bring your own beer, they'll have the cooler and ice. Captain will filet and bag the fish, have your own cooler for transport. Gear was solid and boat was everything you needed, included covered area in case of rain. read more

We had a great 1/2 day charter. There were 5 of us and our price was half what other boats quoted us. 6 hours of professional help. We caught a grouper plus a dozen gray snappers and just as many we did release just under size. The captain filleted and washed our catch. A real fun day. The next party after us was 1 1/2 hours later plenty of time to clean the boat. Thanks for a great memory! read more

Not a great day. Boat was supposed to have AC but it broke day before. I'm betting it crapped out long ago. w GPS went out during trip back. Capn and mate tried hard but were experimenting with new spots....on our coin. Drifted all day and when we caught fish we moved to another spot and drifted again. Should have anchored. Too many people fishing to drift which resulted in many tangled lines. Came back with 6 fish...one per person. Meanwhile, sister boat limited on snapper/grouper at a another spot. Several reels were old and in need of repair. Long day, paid for 10 hours but they kept us out for 12. read more

While it's never good to get shut out it's better when you feel the crew did everything to try including keeping the lines in the water. We recently took our my wife's entire family (6Adults, 8kids) with the Gulfstream II crew on August 7,2013, We had an absolut blast. We caught enough Grouper to feed everyone several times over and were lucky enough to bring it back to Austin to share with friends. Capt Brad and First Mate Johnny were awesome. Our group was a half-day afternoon charter, and we had a GREAT time! Capt Brad and his crew mate were absolutely fantastic! They definitely knew all the fishing spots. We decided on bottom fishing, and the catch that day just happened to be light. It didn't matter. Capt Brad would get us to the next spot if we weren't getting any bites and sure enough, we'd catch something. Everyone got to catch a few fish and had a lot of fun! We have taken clients out with Capt. Brad on two separate occasions and have really enjoyed our trips. Yesterday we went on an all day Grouper trip with Capt Brad and First Mate Johnny with several out of town clients. Within the first minute of having my line in the water I got small bump. I dropped back down and by the time I hit bottom, two others were pulling in fish. Within seconds I was as well pulling one in. For about 30 minutes, we pulled in 16 Red Grouper between six men fishing. Our seventh man wasn't feeling it so they had put him in the Air Conditioned room so that he could get used to being on a boat. Johnny and Captain Brad were busy taking off fish and measuring to make sure we were compliant with regulations. After about 30 minutes, Capt Brad wanted us to go hit another spot so that we would not overfish any area. Every spot he took us we landed fish. After lunch, he even put us on so Cobia for a nice change in action. 26 Reds, 1 Cobia, and several grunts later, we called it a day and headed back to shore. We will always use Capt Brad and Johnny on our trips with out of town guest. They are both great guys and very respectful of everyone of board. If you have kids, they will make sure they have a great time and you will not be embarrassed with any bad language. Both men are very respectful and polite. read more

I was with a group of 8 that went out on the Gulfstream II May 17th with Captain Brad and Jonny. We all had a great time! Our lines were always baited and ready. We caught multiple fish that Brad and Jonny cut and cleaned for us. All in all, a wonderful experience, which I would definitely recommend. I will be returning! read more

I had a truly horrible experience. When I booked the charter for my family I told them some of my family members had problems with the heat and needed an air conditioned space. They assured me the cabin was air conditioned. Problem is they said they couldn't close the cabin door because they said Coast Guard regulations required that there was a breezeway between the from hatch and the cabin door. Not exactly air conditioning. My wife spent the half day on her back in the cabin with a headache. We caught seven small fish (pier sized) which the mate kept in a 5 gallon pail for close to 4 hours. No ice. He offered to filet them at the end and I told him I don't eat food that hasn't been handled properly. On the way back to port the engine stopped. Fuel problems the captain said. Yeah, he let us off at the fuel dock because he ran out of fuel. We were an hour late because we had to be towed. We sat for close to 40 minutes rocking back and forth in the hot sun. Six of the nine people in my party felt sick. I refused to give them my credit card, but they had the number from the deposit and put through a charge for the full amount. I've filed a complaint with the state and contested the credit card charge. Can you imagine a professional captain running out of gas? read more

WOW!!! Despite rough seas (at least for us rookies!), Captain Tucker and First-Mate Jim did everything to make the eight of us comfortable as possible. The two gentlemen got us to the "right" spot, were very accommodating, patient and eagerly provided tips for the best catch...which happened...19 snapper in a little over than an hour (had multiple groupers...but just inches short...darn it!)...which was perfect since we had to cut the voyage short due to a few not having "sea legs"...ugh. Once we hit the docks...Capt Tucker immediately fillet'd the fish for transport...which apparently was the "center of attention" (by humans and fowl alike) since other charters returned with "minimal" fish!!! Less than six hours later...our "fresh" snappers were seasoned, breaded, and fried (based on the Captain's recommendation) to perfection!! Outstanding...THANK YOU TUCKER AND JIM!!...will definitely be back again and our recommendation will stand!!!
