The front of the store feels like a craft or hobby shop. There are shelves and displays of jewelry making items. Beads, closures, chains and other things to make your custom jewelry. Then, further back, you're transformed into a big kids' toy store with board games and collectable cards. I saw a door that led to another room where people can sit and play games together. Such a cute little place ! I was actually drawn to it because it WAS a tobacco shop . It is no longer , BUT they do have lots of awesome beads & games you can purchase ! Pokémon & such playing cards ! Staff was super attentive & welcoming! Thanks for the awesome store! read more

I first stopped in this shop out of curiosity the first time I visited my mom and dad's new home after they moved to Cedar City. I was a bit amazed to even find a store like this in small town Utah. I've been back every time I go up there from Las Vegas to visit now. I just love this place! They've got a really good selection of comic books and tabletop gaming stuff for such a small shop in a little town. The owner and staff are very helpful and will take time to visit with you while you shop. Unlike some places, they are even friendly and willing to chat even if you aren't a regular. One of the especially neat things they have is a box of Magic the Gathering cards that you can use to play the game at the store, even if you didn't bring your own deck. You can even keep a few of the cards if you don't have them already. I wish I could come up there more often for the in-store gaming events they have going on. I'm not crazy about incense and its related paraphernalia,but at least the scent of it isn't as strong anymore as it was the first couple of times I was there. As a long-time customer I've tried to keep a good opinion of this shop. I'm all for small business over corporate monsters. However, it's hard when you go into a shop and the owner of the establishment make you feel like you're an inconvenience. Present and past employees do their damnedest to make you feel welcome but that's overshadowed by the toxic cloud coming from the owner. The sad part is I've even tried to address this issue with the owner and he seems like anything anyone had to say was beneath him. Perhaps a post in a public forum like here will give him pause to consider what I and others have to say. Love the comics, game supplies as well as the hookah accessories in the back room. The attitude however has got to change. Take a vacation, go to the spa, go get some weed from Nevada - whatever needs to happen to adjust that attitude. Gaming will keep people coming in, but at what point does one begin to value the other customers that keep you in business? If you can't listen to your customers, especially long-time shoppers maybe you should go into a different line of work. read more

I had such a great experience on my last visit here to Gunjah. So I ask my husband to make a stop there on our way to our family reunion. I really wished I hadn't. We walked in and we were the only customers in the store. I walked to the back door where the "smoke shop" is hidden. My husband noticed the sign asking to check our IDs before we entered. So we walked back over to the two people behind the counter. They both didn't even look up at us. We stood there for at least a minute until one of them acknowledged us and looked at out our IDs. We entered through the "secret" door that keeps all the smoking accessories and other interesting items hidden from the kids. It didn't take long for me to find what I wanted, but I was still waiting for someone to come and help me. Finally, they did and I was instructed to go back out the door to the register. Both people that helped me almost seemed annoyed that we were there. I even had to ask for a bag that the cashier begrudgingly gave to me. This place has great potential and on my previous visit had great customer service. I get that they have very few smoke shops in Cedar City, but still a smile and a bag for my purchase aren't to much to ask for. I definitely will not be stopping in here again. read more

I can honestly say, I'm in this place about every week. The staff is usually very knowledgeable about what I go in there for (games). Some more knowledgeable than others in different areas, but a pretty good balance. I can talk comics and games and even incense and beads if I want. Somebody mentioned that the staff kept talking to someone while they were there...um, that might have been me. I'm sorry. Like I said, I come there for the games. There are store sponsored games several times a week. D&D on Mondays and Wednesdays (check their schedule, since I think the Wednesday games can be sporadic) and Magic: the Gathering on weekends. It's a good safe place for gamers to congregate. There is no "secret" door. It's pretty clearly labeled. Given that they sell products to minors (comics and Pokémon), having a separate area for tobacco and other "adult" items is appreciated by many. Also, Cedar has more smoke shops per capita than just about any place in the state (according to the local health department), so I'm not sure about the comments about this being one of the few. I am sorry to read that some people had bad experiences there and would say that those are not the norm of what I've seen. I enjoy going there immensely. read more

This place is a bead, jewlry, gaming shop. I went in with my kids looking for a fun game to pick up. Immediately we were given a warm welcome. The gentleman benhind the counter was warm and genuine with plenty of ideas, and he knew his stuff. He even kept the attention of a hungry pouty 3-year old. In the end we bought several sets of dice for the kids and left with free dice bags. Rarely do I meet shop owners these days who know their product, walmart is killing expertise for low wage, could-care-less employees. This was a breath of fresh air. Nice place, friendly, knowledgeable, and local. I will definitely be spending more money here in the future. read more

Best place in town for any card, board, figurine game. Always have tournaments n crud, I do horrible but always have a blast laughing the whole time, everyone is super friendly, the owner is hilarious and can tell loves life.. Long live gunjah bead forest, NOW SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!! read more
