I've found so many old books that have spoken to my heart and kept me going in Tough Times, such as Soren Kiekegaard's "The Sickness unto Death" This large Black book with it's forbidding title Let me know in a dark time (age 25) that He suffered, and was alone and depressed. This spurred me on to in time regroup and move on . Now I'm 81 and recently purchased This Same Book and several others of his to remind me of my Journey all the way to this Sweet Town of Cedar City and to Marry My Shirley! Such a find! What a cute little book store with a wide variety! They have some really nice selections and even a great shelf of collectible books. The selection is open-minded, which is a refreshing surprise in this town. Just when I thought I was about to lose my mind in this theocracy they call Utah, I ran into this little gem! The first thing I noticed when I walked in the doors of this bookstore was the scent of coffee. I knew immediately that I wasn't going to be going anywhere for awhile. After browsing the shelves for several minutes, I found myself with an armful of books. There is a great variety and they are well organized, not like you'd find in a thrift store. There is an attached coffee shop, which provided the welcoming aroma. I saw plenty of other patrons sitting with books and a cup of their favorite beverage. It's definitely a place people come to hang out. In addition to books, there are other novelty items including things made by local artisans. I appreciate that and picked up a few of those items as well. The Yelp 15% off check-in offer was welcomed, since I did find the price of the books to be a bit higher than I'd expected. But to support local and encourage a business with so much character, I sucked it up and handed over my money. read more

Main Street Books in Cedar City, UT has a fabulous selection of new and used books! I could've spent hours in here and bought half the store. It's well organized by category and has super fun feature tables throughout. There's an adorable gift shop on one side and a delicious coffee shop on the other side. Discovered this place eating lunch next door. I love old school book shops to wonder through and just see what books are available to read. I have discovered travel books I would have never learned about this way. Place is very casual. It is connected directly to the coffee shop next door. I gave seen larger collections of used books but they have a decent selection of different genres available. I picked up a random book by an author I follow. Prices are normal for the used book scene. read more

I enjoy visiting this bookstore every time I come to Cedar City. They made the store more organized and clean. However, I use a wheelchair and due to a bookshelf being in front of the entrance it makes it very difficult to enter. read more

It is nice to have a "non-LDS" book store in Cedar City. They do have a very large section of LDS and Christian books, more so than is given to all other faiths combined- this is one of the reasons for the lower rating (there is a LDS bookstore already in CC). Being a college town with a good number of students of non-LDS and Christian faiths, it would be a smart move to carry more books about other faiths. The last reason for the 3 star is due to the 6pm closing time, and not being open on Sunday. read more

I adore this bookstore. It attaches to Grind Coffee next door and a yoga/acupuncture place in the back. Good size and STUNNING selection...acting, bios, new age, Mormon, romance, self help...frankly worlds beyond Barnes and Noble. Also the prices are unbeatable...most books I've bought her range around $8 which is so great. They'll even order books for you if you ask nicely and its generally cheaper than Amazon (shocking I know). read more

One of my favorite places. It is a used bookstore, so it's affordable and they have a huge selection. The atmosphere is very comfortable and relaxed, there's a small play area for children in the kids book section which is so fun and makes it easy to look for a good book! The staff is always so friendly and helpful as well. Bonus, it's located right next to a great coffee house. Nothing better than coffee and a good book! read more

Braun's books is a great little used books store. I like going there and just relishing in all the different books. Plus, if you ever get any books for christmas or your birthday that you really hate, you can sell them to Braun's and they'll find those books a happy home. read more

I like going into book stores but Main Street Books is a mess of unorganized literature. The staff was unhelpful and cold. I did not get my cashiers name but she came off very uninterested and barely looked at me. When I made a comment about a book she looked at what I was pointing to and disregarded what I said. I have worked as a cashier in a few different places and I usually cut some slack for fellow cashiers, but she was a joke. Poor service and buying books online would be cheaper. read more

I love used book stores, and I'll stop by one anytime I can and spend hours. This store seems to have a descent selection of used books, and is a little quirky. Such as placing books on top of the cases out of reach to customers and having a section of books that are not for sale (why take up much needed space if they're not for sale?). But the reason for the two stars is the prices. I picked up a few books that looked very interesting, and the first one was $15 for a paperback. I started noticing that most of the paperback books start at about $8. I can get new books from Amazon for these prices, plus I can read reviews so I can make a more educated purchase. You can get some paperback books for around $4 (which is closer to the price most used bood stores charge) but those are the less popular and published a long time ago. Didn't spend much time here since I wasn't willing to pay new prices for used books. read more
