The plug end of the solar panel charge cable seperated causing the camera to not work/charge, no physical damage what so ever. I still had my receipt and all of the original packaging. I simply went in the store to swap the camera with the same model. I didn't want a refund, just wanted the same camera. I was only able to speak to a cashier about it who then went and spoke to a "gun manager". What I was told was "since the camera had been used they would not replace or refund"(camera is only 2 weeks old and still new condition) and that I would have to contact the manufacturer to see if they would send me a new solar panel with charge cable. I am so sick an tired of businesses like this selling products and if/when you have any problem with it "oh well you're SOL because you used the product that you paid money for, go figure it out yourself". P.S.- I won't put a name but the cashier I spoke to and who I have been through her register line a few times has that attitude that every customer who walks through the door just ruins her day, having to put her phone down or stop gossiping with the other cashier and actually do a little work is a inconvenience to her.

We started to fill out the liability waiver and I asked about ammo. I purposefully didn't bring ammo because I wanted to support the business by purchasing their ammo. I was told they were completely out of ammo and that I could find some at Marks outdoors down the road. Then I was told that the pistol range was closed so we would be using our pistols next to all of the rifles. The folks behind us were two young kids with an AK. I wasn't too happy to be sharing the range with these young kids and their AK. I wanted to brush up on some things with my wife so she would still be comfortable with the pistol we bought for her. So without ammo we left and headed to marks outdoors. As I was in the ammo section of marks explaining to the ammo attendant our situation, a random person next to me said that he always gets a mini draco inadvertently waved at him by some untrained young kids. So this would be 0 stars but u give it 1 because the folks at the front counter were very nice and they did tell me where to find ammo. I recently made a significant purchase with Academy Sports online. The product was showing 1 in…read morestock and only available for store pickup. First, I applied for their credit card to save a few bucks. I was accepted, but $100 less than the purchase. The site would not allow me to pay part of it with my debit card, so I just paid the whole amount. Later, I got a text saying that it wasn't available to pick up in Tuscaloosa. It gave other options, but only within 50 miles, and it wasn't available there either. So I went to the store in Tuscaloosa after work so I could talk to a human. I get there, and there's only 2 girls at the registers. When I get through the line, as usual, one walks off never to return. The girl that finally helps me doesn't have a clue. The store pick-up counter has been abandoned, and she scrambles to find a manager or equivalent. She finally gets someone, and she's not very bright either. But finally, she just says that they must have realized that they were out after my purchase. I will be promptly closing my account as soon as my card arrives in the mail. Incompetent asses do not deserve my business. I will do my best not to ever visit their establishment in the future. Well, maybe except to use the bathroom, only because the Lowe's in the area is horrible.

One poor girl ran through the store crying and they continued to mock her after she was gone. They carried on a loud conversation about gossip and other people and acted like customer questions were interruptions. They have items marked clearance on the website but you can't order them for pick up and they won't honor the price in store. So you actually cannot buy it. This was such a bad experience I will definitely NEVER shop this specific location and probably will never shop again at any Academy. This location has been going down hill for a while. The state law clearly says no permit is needed to carry concealed anymore, but this place is sticking to the old requirement just to be extra gate keepey about 2A. It's their private property, so they can set their own rules I understand that. But the part that really stands out is how they deny ACTIVE DUTY SERVICE members if they don't have a CCW. Let get real these are the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to protect and defend the Constitution, including the Second Amendment. And yet they're being told they need a government issued permission slip just to shoot at this range BWAHAHAHA. That feels completely backwards and disrespectful to those who serve. Most folks aren't going to go through the extra steps classes, fees, paperwork, fingerprints, photos, and waiting periods when the state already says you're good to go without any of it. If you want a background check just run every member though any of the 1000 background check sites. It ends up just being straight gatekeeping, limiting access to only those who already got the government's approval. CCW permits have ALWAYS been unconstitutional because the Second Amendment protects the right to bear arms without needing government permission slips it's a fundamental right, not a privilege granted by the state. Big miss for this range It's disappointing to see a place that's supposed to be pro-gun still doing this in 2026 Alabama, especially when it affects active duty members who just want to go enjoy their rights. Safety is their first and most important requirement, and if you intend to shoot there you're required to take the safety course. You may think you don't need it but a refresher is always in order. An attitude such as I've noted in a couple of posts here doesn't recommend you no matter how experienced you may think you are. All the years I've been a member at FOP Pleasant Grove I've never had a bad experience with any of the staff. My grandson learned to shoot there because I trusted the quality and safety of his instructors, The only times that left a sour note -- and they've been very, very few through the years -- it's been because some member or visitor thought the rules were for someone else. All he did was grind off & ruin a new Wilson Beavertail grip safety. Additionally, he said the slide stop was broken & returned the broken pieces when I picked it up....damn sure wasn't broken when I assembled it before taking it to him. If you're in the market for an AR, he might be the one to see, but obviously knows little to nothing about 1911s. 1 star is too good based on my experience.
