Guns Unlimited customer service is garbage. I went in recently looking for a small part for my shotgun. I entered the store with an unloaded shotgun since they are listed in Google as a gun repair shop. I was approached at the door in a very flipped manner. When I inquired about a gunsmith to repair the firearm I was met in a very hostile manner telling me that we don't have those parts here and we don't service guns. Not really sure if it had anything to do with the color of my skin but I'm not ruining it out. I will never step foot in that story again. read more

I love the store looks and layout. There is always a great selection to choose from. When you ask for help, you get good help. These folks have been around a while.. The big "corporate box stores" that I won't name, are pretty much worthless unless you want to buy some expensive candy, look at an aquarium, or at a bunch of dead animals. read more

Amazing store JohnL and myself just visited. He shopping and me tagging along. I'm not a gun nut anymore but was involved more in distant past. Was all fun during those days. I have not distanced myself from that world and still have some interest and retained some knowledge and understanding. This store has a nice variety of expensive guns down to air rifles. Watch out!! Guns Unlimited will not refund at all. They do not support any products they pawn off on you. Bought a holster that the sales rep claimed to be what I needed. Got home and realized that this was the incorrect product. Returned and exchanged for the proper size. Upon returning home, again tried new product. Still does not function as sales representative described. When I called to return the product, they only offered a store credit. Will never return. Suggest you go elsewhere. Cabela's will support the sale and product. So will about any other store. The value was even a little more over priced.. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Went to trade in my gun, I was offered $75...asked about ordering a handgun and was quoted $200 more than Bear Arms in Council Bluffs for the exact same gun. Also Bear Arms gave me much more towards trade in. Luckily, with all the great online choices and Bear Arms locally there is no need for me to every go back here again. I am from central Nebraska where reloading components can be hard to find. Every time I travel to Omaha I stop to resupply, which in the past 1 1/2 years can be questionable. In the past three months I have stopped in Guns Unlimited and every time had a associate quickly ask if they can help. As products start reappearing they have them on the shelf for all customers, not the local favorites like some shops. This little shop always has amazing prices on ammo. I have purchased various "accessory" type items such as an AR padded case, scopes, range bags, shell pouches for trap shooting, etc. the store had a surprising variety considering they are smaller than the big box guys. They also have quite a few items that are priced considerably lower than even online competitors. read more

This store has pretty high prices. On top of that, Joe, one of their sales people, will actively tell customers not to buy certain products and it's really offputting. If you try to trade in guns they will refuse to buy them, only offer store credit, and then low ball you. I made 15% more money going down to the pawn shop down the street five minutes after I left, and they actually pay cash. read more

I have been a long time customer at GU. I have always been treated with respect and have got some pretty good deals there. This is a brick and mortar, local business run by and manned by knowledgeable people. Sure you may not get the best trade-in deal on your particular firearm, but realize they have to make a profit and certain used guns don't sell as fast to their clientele. They may have to "sit" on possibly unwanted inventory and that costs a small business. Business 101 - you need cash flow to survive. read more

I agree with the other gentleman's post in that if there was a zero star option, that is what I would select. I was in line waiting to check out and there was one employee verbally abusing another, who by the way the employee on the receiving end was the only individual that offered to help me while I was shopping. Totally unprofessional to conduct yourself in this way in front of customers. If that wasn't bad enough, the only person checking out was a friendly older woman who requested an additional cashier due to the amount of customers in line. Another employee arrived and helped check one customer and upon completing the transaction, needed the woman's cash register drawer opened and continue to ask that she open the drawer, even though she was in the process of checking me out. She did the right thing and continued my transaction and then asked what the other employee needed. He said that "some time today, I need you to open your drawer". I was in the store for 15 mins max and cannot believe the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism two different employees demonstrated. I was so upset that I told them before leaving that I would never be back, why I felt this way and I will tell everyone I can about my experience and I promise to never spend another cent with Guns Unlimited. read more

Folks, I have a long history with GU going back to my earlier days living in Omaha and most recently after my family's return to Omaha in 2010 to live after my military retirement. Here's the bottom line up front: if you want a more custom, hands-on approach to serving your sporting and home defense firearms needs, go to GU. Sure, Cabelas has a boatload of guns and some pleasant, well-intended outfitters, but product knowledge across the board can be spotty. If you like the possibility of finding more collectible, vintage guns, Bass Pro is out of the question and their prices are ridiculously high anyway. Scheels has a few solid brands like Cooper and Wilson Combat that GU may not have, but I can't stand the arrogance of the Scheels staff that seems so palpable most days. And I don't like the way Scheels backs out of negotiated gun deals in the middle of the day after a manager's shift change. Yes, I had that happen. What you'll find at GU is a very knowledgeable staff and the chance to score on some prized guns you'll be happy to add to your collection. Over time, you'll enjoy being on a first-name basis with their people and sharing a few stories and a warm handshake with owner Tom Nichols himself. It's a homey place to shop, with great discounted deals on sporting clothes from Browning, Beretta, Russell, and others. If you need a Browning firearm, case, or safe, go no further. Perhaps an occasional Benelli, Beretta, Krieghoff, or Blaser? Look no further. GU will have guns others will never have, and always be willing to slice a few dollars off the price of used guns to close a deal. I like that, and also their willingness to throw things on layaway for folks like me with three kids in college. And you should know that GU is a great supporter of local youth shooting programs. For me, this counts for a lot. I can't say enough positives about GU. Give them a try. They'll do the job for you. My only suggestion for Tom? Maybe serve fresh coffee. If you reload this is the best place for many miles. Reasonably priced powder and primers and a large selection of Hodgdon, IMR, and Alliant powders. Selection of reloading equipment is OK, but not great. Lots of Hornady bullets to choose from, but not a lot of others, some Winchester handgun bullets IIRC. read more

Can't say enough great things about this place! In addition to being an outdoor enthusiast who likes to hunt and fish, I also enjoy the occasional skeet shooting session at the range. I do my own reloading, but as a college student, this can get expensive. However, GU has a fantastic selection of powders at prices found no where else. I also have my eye on a few guns every now and then, and the prices are astonishingly affordable. I disagree with Timothy when it comes to customer service. I have had a unsatisfactory purchases, and was able to work it out with management no problem. The staff s friendly and reasonable when it comes to this. Moreover, I am friends with many of the staff members, and love to walk in and share stories every now and then. I've also never met so many knowledgable employees, especially the manager Dan, a competent guy who definitely knows his stuff. Have nothing but positive experiences at GU. Definitely recommended for anyone looking for guns, knives, sporting clothes, or even a friendly conversation with staff! read more

It's a little bothersome when I got into guns unlimited and I'm looking for a particular item and I find it. I'm standing there waiting for 20 minutes while a store clerk is standing 20 feet away from me bull ccrapping about the heat - spurs game. Finally someone had the actual knowledge to say "hey this guy looks like he needs help." I ask to look at the gun and notice it's 90 bucks more then I've seen it. So i mention it and the clerk has the nerve to down talk me and say I'm in the wrong and that they are cheapest in town and he paid only a 100 bucks more then what they are asking. Now, I don't like bashing places but I'm done going to guns unlimited. They may have knowledge but every time I go in there its always like that. condescending, rude, and just don't plain don't care. I have found GU to have very competitive prices, good products and very knowledgeable staff. One employee name Joe has always given me good advice on what to buy and what to avoid. I've never regretted doing as he suggested. The return policy is not the best but it is posted and makes it worthwhile to do research and be sure you've made a good choice instead of buying willy nilly and then playing the return game. If you reload their prices are outstanding. I just purchased a used handgun and Joe helped me make a decision I could afford and live with. Guns Unlimited is a very nice store with a great selection, but I still prefer Cabela's. I like supporting local stores (I consider Cabela's local, it's from Nebraska) but sometimes I just can't justify spending so much more on the same products. I like the staff here, they're pretty helpful and knowledgable. They have a nice selection of used firearms as well. Firearms and ammo prices are significantly more than anywhere else in Omaha unfortunately. No AR-15 accessories, or parts that I have seen. They have a nice selection of holsters and handgun magazines, more than anywhere else. Anything they don't have you can special order. I think the only knives they have are Browning labeled ones. No idea who makes them but no SOG, Kershaw, Benchmade, other reputable knives/tools. TONS of Browning apparel and stuff if you're into that. Lots of hunting/shotgun/trap shooting clothing and accessories. I usually check here every now and then but think I'll stick to other stores on purchasing the expensive stuff. read more

Worst experience ever. Knew exactly what I wanted when I went in to the store. Went to buy $1000 rifle for my wife's birthday. The first salesmen was great. It was all downhill after I paid for the rifle. I went in 2 more times to pick up the rifle, after I called them checking in on it. Both times they were extremely rude, waited 45 min and never got the rifle after 2 weeks of waiting. Finally decided to return it and buy online through buds gun shop. $700 for the exact same rifle, brand new, shipped and transfer fee paid. Delivered and picked up within 3 days. Still didnt make it for her birthday but I'm glad I gave my business to the better company. read more

So my husband went in to check this place out today and see what kind of selection they had, while he was browsing an employee walked over to him and asked if he needed any help, as to which he relied " just looking at the moment, wanting to get the wife in to see if there is something she would like " and the employee said while walking away " yeah gotta make sure to bring in the check book" ..... I am appalled at the type of customer service this place allows. First off it would be my husband purchasing the item/items for me, not that it should make a bit of difference in the matter, but to be so rude to someone is just un called for! We will certainly be taking our business elsewhere! FYI Guns Unlimited we are in the market for hand guns and hunting riffles for both of us, so its safe to say that is a bit of money lost on your part due to a simple curtesy you should be extending to each and every one of your potential customers! read more
