The produce is okay. The bread is okay. The service is okay. Everything was just okay. The staff was not openly rude but they were not nice and definitely not welcoming. From the moment we parked and walked up to the lady that was handing out the baskets she was incredibly rude. We bring our baskets back every year to get our discount, and I always bring a larger woven basket so that I can put two of their plastic baskets in there and it's easier for me to carry I don't try to get more than I can handle. I don't overfill the baskets, but she was adamant that I could not use it despite my handicap of not being able to carry two baskets at one time without help. She kept smarting off and saying rude comments to me as I walked off after leaving the basket at the station. I had a nice gentleman that worked there. He didn't speak very good English, but he was happy to help me and collecting which strawberries we collect as we make preserves for the Children's Hospital here in Augusta and the nurses and doctors. So need to say we buy an abundance of these every year. We go to the counter and realized we did not have enough cash and asked her to hold them and she gave us an explanation of where we could go ways from here to find an ATM to get cash and she has never accepted cash and we should've known that by now. We went less than a mile down the road to a gas station and were able to get the cash for the berries, came back, paid for the berries and continued to get a lecture about how we should've done things differently and been more prepared. Afterwards, she sat a box on top of my iPhone and busted it Without saying sorry I can't believe she did that. Not apologize or nothing but she told me I needed to get my phone off the table. Had a great time this morning. Although it was chilly, we picked a couple of good baskets of strawberries. They allowed sampling, so I tried a couple.... DELICIOUS! Picking season just opened. They are closed on Sun & Mondays. I think the hours are 8a-6p! You can also feed the fish in their pond across the street. 3 bags of food for $1. read more

While the strawberries and other produce were delicious, we found our experience was quickly soured by how rude and aggressive one of the employees behaved. Upon arriving we walked up to a table, were given our baskets and told "Just take that dirt road." That was it. No other details or directions. So this is exactly what we did. As we walked on to the field we noticed a large group congregated toward the front. We decided to avoid the crowd because SOCIALLY DISTANCING and made our way to a row toward the back. Again, following the ONLY directions we were given. Within a few minutes, a woman started screaming at us, in a sharp and aggressive tone, and so loudly that the entire group of people stopped to watch. She yelled: "Stop right there! You don't go back there! You pick where I tell you to pick!" We were embarrassed and humiliated. When we walked toward her we asked to not be placed near a large group of people. She answered: "Well if you are going you be difficult, you need to leave the field." I then responded that our request to remain away from the group was not unreasonable. I kept my voice low and calm the entire time but inside I was shaking. She stepped about 2 ft away from us and spit while shouting "We are socially distancing!" We were finally saved by a young lady who walked us over a few rows and apologized for the interaction. Needless to say, we did not enjoy the experience because we were embarrassed and angry. There is absolutely no reason to talk to people this way. All of it could have been avoided with: 1. Clear directions. Example: Take the dirt road and one of our employees will tell you where to pick. 2. Having employees wear uniforms or at least a t shirt that helps them stand out. All we saw when we approached was what looked like a large family group. We will think twice before returning and will be sharing this experience with others. read more

I get my berries from Gurosik's every year. I usually get 4 buckets, put them in the freezer, then go back later and get another 4 or 5, and freeze those also. Don't make the mistake of buying too many at once and then get too tired to process them before they go bad. Better to go twice, if you can...or get some family help for the washing, capping, slicing and bagging for the freezer. Yummmmm read more

Lately, I've been missing my sunny days of California, so one weekend when it was 85 degrees weather and the clouds were white and fluffy looking, my friend who has his kid staying with him invited me to go Strawberry picking. I am a city girl, grew up in San Diego, CA. The last time I went to a farm was in India, saw lots of cows and mango trees. I am a bit of girly girl, so I wear a lots of sandals and dresses. I had to google what to wear at a farm!! - so ended up wearing a pair of capris and a loose blouse with my Toms. Gurusiks Farm was a treat indeed! It's about an hour's drive from Augusta, very scenic drive. Lots of twists and turns, and not a whole lot of directions to get there. Dirt road leads to a nice little cottage house, driving further in, one sees the store and can park anywhere, not a whole lot of crowd. In the store was a chap who guided us to a row of Strawberry mound. A little old lady (later found out she was the farmer's wife) in a golf cart handed a small flag to my friend. I don't know why! On the right of the land were flowers growing such as Gladioli and Zinnias! Very pretty. And on the right were the blue berries, cabbages and the strawberries. Very interesting how those were planted. And picking rules were: if the fruit is green, orange and small - leave it! If it's big, red, and looks juicy- pick it! If it's rotten or dented or half eaten by an animal, pick it and fling it afar. Oh! And one can only pick one side or one half of the row, not the whole mound. Kids love it! Back breaking for the adults. and alas must carry cash! I don't carry cash but glad I had $15 and lots of coins on me to buy myself a pint of blueberries($3), half a gallon basket of Strawberries($6), and a bottle of honey($6). You will never find this deal in any store.. One learns lots of tidbits from the Mexican farmhands. I sure enjoyed myself! A must go!! read more

Beautiful place to pick strawberries. They are so sweet to the kids and even have a catfish pond to feed fish at, which is a delight for the kids. The strawberries are absolutely delicious. Will definitely be going back as soon as possible! read more

While the produce was good and they had additional food in the store at a decent rate the overt racism really drags the place down. We overhead her talking to a younger group that they "know what ethnic group to not allow anymore because they do one basket for 12 people" which was just awful. They were polite to us but I can't imagine what the experience might have been If we were people of color. read more

The most delicious and long lasting strawberries! People were super friendly, even insisted on adding more strawberries to our already heaped baskets. The markets are also fantastic. The Blackbean salsa kills and the veggies are cheap, fresh and tasty. Lots of good local produce there. I'm itching for the new season to come around. Can't wait until April. read more

The staff were very rude when we began picking up berries. They talked to us as if the customer is always wrong and they are right. The old lady that own the farm said that if we do not like their service then we should leave. They are very unprofessional and the treatment of customers are subpar. If I could leave ZERO stars, I really would! Today was my daughter's 1st grade field trip and she was so excited to say the least. After a 40 minute trip out there, we come to find out that they booked ANOTHER school on the same morning as our school, even though we have booked ours WELL in advance! The lady that was giving directions where to park was rude! I walk up to the store with my 2 year old and was told that if I wanted to walk out with my daughter I HAD to pay, not only 7 dollars for myself, but I also had to pay ANOTHER 7 dollars for my 2 year old who can not even hold the container!!! I told them I just wanted to walk out there with her and that I didnt want any strawberries, they snapped back at me and said NO, You HAVE to pay for him! They said WHOEVER walks out there needs to PAY and get a container!! Well, thank goodness I had cash on me. After that nonsense, I go outside to the tables and that lady walks out and was yelling out all the rules and told all the 1st graders that they need to "keep their mouths shut"!!! She said that if any parent wants to be with their kid that they need to PAY only cash and check and if they DIDNT have the money then they have to sit under the shelter while their child goes out there without them!!!! She was so rude, so unprofessional, so disrespectful, I couldn't believe what I was hearing from her mouth!! The whole time we were there, we were waiting for the other school to finish picking. Before we picked our strawberries, she specifically told us where to pick and told us no where else!!! The ONLY ROW we were able to pick from had nothing but moldy and mushy strawberries, it was disappointing! The whole trip was a joke! The kids was suppose to see some fish, see the bees and taste some honey, and also sample their strawberry slush, NONE of that ever happened!!!!! There was kids crying, disappointed, SCARED of those mean ladies and the whole trip was ruined! The teachers were trying to keep a smiling face for the kids, but they were so frustrated to say the least! They ended up putting the kids on the bus to eat at the school. This "buisness" is TRASH!! THEY ARE NOTHING BUT GREEDY, MEAN, DISRESPECYFUL "BUISNESS" OWNERS!!! SHAME ON YOU GUROSIK' S BERRY PLANTATION! You will NEVER get our business again, no side trucks around the local area, NOTHING! I have 5 kids who LOVE strawberries and they will never eat from your nasty farm again!! read more

This is the WORST place to pick strawberries specially if you are African American and Asian American. The Mexican brother and sister who work on the field are so RUDE you just want to beat the crap out of them. The Mexicans keep yelling at everyone specially to non-whites for no reason. We were so disappointed at this place that we half filled our basket, pay for it and left. This is an experience I will never forget. I will make sure that all my friends will stay clear from this place. If you want strawberries just go to Costco, or Publix for they have better qualities. This place SUCKS!!! read more

Had a ton of fun picking strawberries here with my boys. Yet, somehow I expected it to be just a bit more wild. They are masterfully efficient & have the growing/picking/directing pickers part down to a science. A little less room to ramble and enjoy while picking... but the berries were delicious. Maybe we picked them a little green, because they weren't great when we ate them on the ride home... but 2 days later, holy sweet deliciousness! They also have a little market with purportedly local veggies/jellies, etc. And they are super nice. No credit cards though... bring cash or check! And have a blast picking your own strawberries. Nothing like knowing where your food comes from! read more

My husband and I love this berry farm. We've gone a few times and love that you can get a whole gallon of fresh-picked strawberries for $10.50 when you pick them yourself. The only time I had a less than perfect experience is when a young girl who worked there went behind us as we picked the whole time and kept saying that we needed to be sure to look below the bush, etc. I realize that if it's red you are supposed to pick it regardless of size and such. So we skipped a few. Big deal. I realize they go behind people and pick berries to sell at stands, but she was on us the whole time. I felt pressured and didn't appreciate it. I'll still return, but please ask employees to back off of people a little while they're trying to pick. Delicious berries and lovely farm! read more

Ever been to Gurosik's berry farm? I'll never go again. It seems like they loath kids. It's a mandatory 1 parent to 2 kids. From the moment we got out the older lady said, "well it looks like you have too many kids per adult" (though she was wrong). Then the young Hispanic girl proceeded to bark the rules at us and even went on to argue with me after I got irritated and asked, "well what would a single mom do with too many kids?" Just overall bad customer service. These folks have no clue how to run a business. You can have the best product in the world but lack proper customer service and your customer won't return. Which we won't. What should have been a sweet experience with my family left a bitter taste in my mouth. Save your time, gas and hard earned money, and I suggest not going to Gurosik's.
