When you first walk in the restaurant is bright and vibrant, open and inviting. The staff work to keep it nice and clean as well as stocked. The waitresses were quick to seat us and friendly, yet attentive. Checking if we needed anything and if the food was good. Now on to the pizza, it was delicious! The flavor of the sauce was perfect, it was flavorful yet not overwhelming. The definitely don't short you in the toppings either. My only disappointment was the price. I got a salad and it was basically just lettuce for $7. Way over priced for how small it was. I felt the pizza was a little on the high end, $30 for a "12. My family loves everything on the menu--salad, hand tossed pizza, deep dish pizza, and hot sub sandwiches. I personally get the 9" deep dish Chicago style pizza with the tomato sauce on top. A lot of people frequent this site although from my perspective, I'm not entirely sure why. It's not bad food. It's just that it's not significantly good enough to make it worthwhile to pay the price that is asked for the pizza, in my opinion. I've never had an issue with service there and folks have always been friendly - although I don't know that I would call it a place that you would get food fast. Server Tonight's server is MacKenzie. She's delightful and has plenty of patience for new comers. She made lots of suggestions. Very nice separation for this area. She even remembered to renew the citrus in my water. She's a real asset to this or any company she's with. Ambiance Kinda sports bar meets modern pizza factory. There are big TV screens everywhere. Today there are several different sports programs and the food Network. It's loud but not overly, and we were able to talk comfortable with out yelling. Food The pizza arrived fully engaged in an aroma cacophony of interesting aromas. The taste is very good. On the other hand the meatball sandwich was prepared very good as well. I'm from the Chicagoland area--this is not representative of any Chicago pizza--not the deep dish nor the tavern style thin crust. Sauce was acidic (Chicago sauce is sweeter), crust was flat and tasteless (Chicago crust has a buttery deliciousness to it and it is crisp, almost cracker like). Italian sausage was absolutely nothing like you would get in Chicago. If you like this pizza, that's fine, just know it is not real Chicago pizza. read more

I would give Gusano's 5 stars, except I think they're thin crust pizza is just okay. Where Gusano's shines is their "Chicago Style" deep dish pizza. In Fort Smith again my wife and I wanted to try another Pizza Restaurant! Actually more me than her.. Have tried the competition further down Phoenix Ave. Sorry but I would have to say the waitresses are a tad more helpful down the road and a little more friendlier. So we ordered the chicken wings a an appetizer and to say they were a little dried out would be an understatement. Then we order the BBQ chicken pizza! Not bad actually.. Good firm crust and the toppings were generous. Beer was cold and the food was hot. I mean really hot.. Usually you get to most restaurants and it's warm so that was a nice change. I finally asked a server where to check in . There were 4 families waiting to check in. The server was nice and courteous but when her friends were finished eating it was time to sit and visit with them. And neglect the tables. But the food was very good. We ordered the delux and the Didka. A cheese pizza for the youngest. The pie was very tasty. For the area the Chicago style is a little of a grasp. Let me start by saying, I love Chicago style pizza and if you have never had authentic Chicago style pizza then you're missing out! I went yesterday to check it out for the first time and was really underwhelmed. It's very large and has an open concept to the whole pizzeria. The bar seems to bee a full bar, they had 3 dollar house wine and some beers on tap. The 3 dollar wine is what you'd expect from a wine. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. (It's three bucks lol) we ordered the taco cheese dip thing. Really enjoyed it! It wasn't your typical white queso and had some different textures and flavors wonderful! The pizza on the other hand wasn't really anything to fall in love with. Truth be told I could have gone anywhere else and had pizza. I was excited for something flavorful and PACKED. But when the pizza was brought to the table it was a thin pizza with little to no toppings. We ordered the chicken mushroom and bacon pizza, I can't remember the name, and honestly I wasn't impressed. There was so much hype for such a long time and then to kind of drop the ball? The Greek salad and spicy spinach dip were very good. The 10" regular crust Hawaiian pizza had good quality ingredients but was a little bland and the cracker-like crust definitely contributed to the blandness. Also, and I'm not sure if this is a Grub Hub issue or a restaurant issue, our notes about including utensils, plates & napkins was completely ignored. Not one person who saw my order read it closely enough to see that we are in a hotel!! This is a pet peeve of mine seeing as how there is no way to eat a salad without utensils. The pizza is as good as expected. And the long cook time is as expected, too. But bad service isn't expected or acceptable. I have gone here for a late lunch twice, now. My first visit was mid-afternoon. I thought it might be a good idea to go during the off hours since the restaurant was still quite new. The place was half-full. The hostess sat me in a corner for some reason. I waited for 10 minutes for a server to greet me. Hey, maybe she doesn't see me stuck here under the TV set? I went to the reception desk and asked for an ice tea with lemon. After another 5 minutes or so, my server finally appears with a plain tea. I order a salad and pizza and honker in for the long wait. After 15 minutes, I was in need of a refill, but never saw my server again, that is until she brought my food. She appeared once more later with my bill, which was merely dropped onto my table without a word. I had a couple, "Could I get a refill, please?" My server eventually returned with a full glass -- of sweet tea. Never saw her again to get that fixed. I waited and waited to finally just pay up and get out of there. I had to finally go back to the reception desk. They couldn't find my server anywhere, either, and I had to wait as they figured out how to use the register to cash me out. Back again today. Surely that server is long gone. The same hostess seated me - this time in the rather empty bar area. It's another 10 minute wait with no greeting. I watch some table service taking place, and a gaggle of servers chatting it up at the service window, but not a single glance was made in my direction. It was apparent I was going to have the same experience, and so I abruptly left. I guess they don't like single tables there. I would suggest the hostess finds some way to indicate to the servers when they have a new table. Better yet, I suggest take out. read more

Having never had Chicago style pizza I have no comparison. The pizzas is good. I like that the cheese (and plenty of it) melted atop the other toppings. We chose the traditional crust for this outing, it is a little dry but the sauce extends almost to the edge. So, in the end it is quite good. The side salads are advertised as iceberg lettuce. That is for sure accurate to the point there is little else found on it except croutons. The ambiance is pretty much college sports bar with a soundtrack overlay. There do seem to be a lot of servers. Everyone's server except ours seem very attentive. Other patrons had an attentive server at the table behind us and in front of us. We had a server that had no other tables in our proximity. Maybe next time we'll confine ourselves to take out. read more

My husband and I went to the Gusano's Pizza in Fort Smith yesterday evening on 8-5-19. The outside area looked nice with big ceiling fans. We got seated. We got our food and drink and we were soon bombarded with a group of young adults smoking, being loud, obnoxious and rude. They were yelling, spitting and cussing. They didn't even order food in fact it wasn't hard to figure out that these people were friends of some of the employees. The waitress knew we were unhappy and she knew what was going on. My first and last experience. Awful service and poor quality food. Young women at the counter were too focused on flirting and talking about H.S. memories than anything resembling service. 20 minutes after my promised time I was told it wasn't her job to check on my pizza. After having to be unpleasant she walked back to find my pizza in a stack waiting. She and the other one then had another employee charge me so they could continue flirting w/a guy she knew from Northside. As packed as this place has been since opening I assumed the food was going to be good, it was not. My pizza loving children begged for oats instead, they wouldn't eat 1/3 of a slice. So I went there today got a deep dish pizza the sauce was OK little runny. It amazes me how when you order a soft drink you have to buy another soft drink they do not offer refills on soft drinks just coffee and tea and water. Our waitress was very very honored to leave the ambience in the place was OK a little bit loud with the music. The white stuff is more cut a more worried about talking to each other than actually waiting on their customers. I doubt I will ever go back the pizzas were overpriced Domino's has a lot better pizza than this place. The owner should be really teaching their white staff to wait on customers instead of gathering around the front or the back where the pizza is served talking. We have patronized the Fayetteville last location for several years, so we were really excited to have a franchise located here at home. We arrived about 4:30 pm--perfect timing to avoid the after work rush. We were greeted by 2 hostesses, neither one of them appearing to know exactly how to select a table for guests. We were seated in a booth next to the bar and our waitress came shortly thereafter. She was very young and it was easy to tell this was her first waitress job, as she was somewhat nervous and anxious to please. She took our order promptly because we knew exactly what we wanted--a Chicago style deluxe with a couple of substitutions on toppings. I seriously doubted if the order was written correctly; but it came to the table exactly the way we ordered it. And it had the very same flavor that we were accustomed to from the Fayetteville location. In fact, the crust was even better because it was crisp on the bottom as well. The tomato sauce on top was not quite as generous, but it held up extremely well to what we were accustomed to. All told, a very good Gusano experience and very happy to have it located here at the Fort. read more
