Service was great, very attentive, maybe a little bit hurried. We're older and slower, so we took longer to peruse the menu and decide. The food was prepared with care and I appreciated the classier touches--hand torn romaine lettuce, and hand cut tomatoes in the green salad. We arrived before the restaurant got filled with customers, which made the ambience less observable, but it was quiet, after a few more customers came in, Italian music started playing. So, I have been to this place a couple of just for convenience sake because is next to the nail shop I frequent. Whelp, a friend and I went as we do after our nail appointments. I decided to try something differnt getting the lobster ravioli instead of my go to the chicken alfredo (TERRIBLE DECISION). It arrived smother to high heavens in sauce. After saving the ravioli from the pool of sauce, I took a bite. It tasted like can salmon and very fishy. I called waiter (such a sweetheart) explain the issue, she took the plate and I ask if it could be replaced with the Chicken Alfredo. I think it was the Manger that came out and told me they don't return or replace and I would still have to pay for the meal. Ordered the mussels with linguini tonight and it was a big mistake. Just 8 mussels for $18, plus linguini and tomato sauce. But even worse, the mussels were almost too tough to eat. Either they were very overcooked or had been frozen. I tried a second and then a third to make sure it wasn't just a bad first bite, but they were all that way and essentially inedible. I told the waiter, who came back to say that the owner wouldn't make any compensation because I ate more than one. I didn't expect the dish for free, but I've never had a restaurant that wouldn't adjust the bill, punishing me for trying a second bite. At checkout I told the manager about the problem with my dinner. He didn't care and said they prepare it the same every day. So I'm left to assume the food is just bad deliberately. Stay away!!! We had eggplant parmigiana, the eggplant was so tough it could not be eaten. The waiter took the food back but just apologized and said they had a new supplier. I just love this place, the food is awesome in my opinion, not that I am an expert on Italian food, but I have really liked everything we have gotten there. I always get the Spaghetti and Meatballs, just love the meatballs and don't know why. A bite, nice size, good texture, and the flavor: okay(?)- don't know what it is about them, but I absolutely love em. And with the meal, it's the tops, man. Have had several of the other dishes as well, loved them all. Again with the Great Flavor and Large Portions, but it's true. Haven't had a bad meal yet, all really good, and we have had several. I arrived to pick up my call in order, called them to let them know I'm here, and the kid says they don't do curbside anymore. I hesitated, thinking what I was going to do. I don't have a mask in the car, I'm type 1 diabetic, and I care for the elderly. So I quickly made a decision and said okay well thank you anyway. I couldn't tell if he was going to make an offer to allow me to do curbside, so I said, "are you just going to cancel my order?" And he says, "well I mean can you not walk?" I was stunned that this person was actually working in a customer-facing business so while I sat there, trying to figure out how to respond to that, he must have realized how inappropriate that was because he fumbled over himself, saying he could bring it out if I really needed him to, but at this point it was very clear that he was being a smart-ass and thought he was going to get away with it. So he brings my ticket, takes my card and runs it, and comes back out with my food and says and by the way we're not doing curbside. I started to put him in his place, but he ssssh'd me. He sssh'd me! This kid, who looks like he's in his mid-20s and mad at his parents for passing down the poor body shape and crazy hair ssshh'd me. I mean, I guess I get it. He probably wanted to be somewhere where people think he's precious but instead he got me. So, there you go. Service is always less than stellar here, but this time it warranted review. read more
