The waitstaff were knowledgeable about the food and wine. The wines are all from the owner's brother vineyard. We had the red and the Prosecco. The red was full bodied. The Prosecco was not too sweet Both were very good! The food was delicious! I didn't know what to expect with the artichoke flan. It was an amazing artichoke and cheese concoction with a shredded artichoke salad on the side. The pastas were all very good. The bolognese had tender meat with a tasty sauce. The tortellini in beef broth is also a local winter dish. The tortellini were filled with a nice mixture of beef and cheese with a full bodied beef broth. A simple but delicious dish! I'm usually not a truffle fan but the spaghetti with black truffles had a good balance of truffle flavor without being overpowering. The scalloping with cheese and Parma ham was tasty. The meat was tender, the cheese side decadent and the ham added a bit of salty flavor. We were too full for dessert!

It's made from bread crumbs, eggs and lots of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. There are two preparations on the menu: alla Romagnola (with butter and some tasty type of cured meat) and in Brodo (in broth). Both are divine! Also, the Tigelle (small pancake shaped breads) are epic when sliced open and filled with the "pesto" made of lardo (pork fat) and fresh herbs. It's downright delicious made only more tasty if you decide to add mortadella to the mix. And, they have a Lambrusco (sparkling red wine with gold top) on the list that should not be missed! #JustSaying

The staff spoke excellent English and made us feel right at ease. The menu is not extensive but but it is excellent. We started with the vegetarian soufflé antipasto. Such a delicate flavor! Each of us then had a pasta course. All were delightful. (Of course we had wine which was delicious). For dessert we split the torta al riso (which turns out to be a regional favorite) and the crema inglese. Yum. Yum. Yum. Not only was the food delicious but the staff so kind and helpful. Definitely if ever back in the area would go again and recommended it to our guide to spread the word for other hungry but weary travelers. Grazie Mille!

Started with the mortadella mouse/potato souffle, which were a few interesting bites. We didn't think either of the pastas were standouts: gramigna & tortellini in brodo. The latter was particularly disappointing because it's one of the main dishes to try in the area, but it's just a bit boring (but maybe this is just what this dish is). We got a side of spinach that we probably didn't need but it was nicely done. Ended with the lamb chop, which was well cooked and the potato it was served with was perfectly lightly seared.

Can be noisy but not distractingly so. Have never had gramignone pasta, particularly double fresh prepared. Add into that the sausage ragú and you have an amazing winner. Wifey had the signature Tortellini in Brodo, which exceeded expectations. A 100% Super Tuscan rounded out the meal--Blueberry, earth, black currant with ripe tannins. Nice acidity that presents cranberry with bread products. Lorenzo was outstanding in service with a great attitude and sense of humor as well as confirming my wine choice as his wine choice for the value. He also had great support on the floor with others who also had excellent senses of humor.

The vegetable flan with fondue was bland, osso bucco good, and penne with meat sauce was also good (a little too salty for me). Cheesecake was also bland but recommended by the waiter. DINNER REVIEW I'm…read moregenerally no fan of traditional local restaurants since my mum is a pro in making Tuscan food, but I was brought here by a few friends coming from Piemonte and I was extremely glad they opened my eyes on this little corner. The restaurant is outside the center, in a more "industrial area" and this is why it is probably the one you want to go if you're on a business trip and would like to have some serious cooking before heading to bed. They also have an interesting new deal, since you can buy the products you eat, directly in the restaurant. The selection is wide: cured meats, the famous steak, home made jams, Tuscan cheese, jellies, durum wheat pasta, tomatoes, pickled veggies, olives, paté and of course wines and liquors. You can make your purchase online as well. As for my dinner, it was simply special: Appetizers of pickled onions, artichokes, eggplant, dried tomatoes, olives, olives paté on bread, selection of cheese with two different jams, the incredibly tasty vegetarian little tart, drowned in melted cheese Main course: tagliatelle with Porcini mushrooms, divine Second course: Florentine steak, fried mushrooms and fried vegetables All to be appreciated with different kinds of Dosio wines. It's enough to feel happy at the end of such a meal!

Wow, what a special place…read more Set inside a 14th-century tower near the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable dining experience from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere alone is worth a visit, but the food is what truly makes it exceptional. We ordered the ravioli, pappardelle with wild boar ragù, the Florentine steak, a mixed salad, affogato, and fresh strawberries with mascarpone cream. To drink, we shared a small carafe of red wine and a Pinot Grigio. Everything was spectacular. The Florentine steak was easily the best--and largest--I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and remarkably tender, it was the highlight of an already outstanding meal. The pappardelle with boar ragù was rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying, while the ravioli was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Every dish felt authentic, carefully executed, and memorable. The wine was another pleasant surprise. Both selections were excellent and very reasonably priced, making the meal feel like an even better value. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. He patiently answered questions, explained the menu, and guided us toward some fantastic choices. Although we thought we were too full for dessert, we're very glad we changed our minds. The affogato was fantastic, and the strawberries with mascarpone cream were absolutely delicious. One of the highlights of the evening was watching our four-year-old happily clutching two spoons and enthusiastically scooping fresh strawberries and mascarpone into his mouth. It was one of those memorable family travel moments that you don't forget. A terrific meal, a unique historic setting, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. This was one of our favorite dining experiences in Florence, and I highly recommend it.

Were ordered a bottle of Chianti Classico to start, as well as a few pastas plus the steak and cod. I can safely say the spaghetti pomodoro with burrata was the best pasta dish I've had in Italy - the pasta was perfectly cooked and the cherry tomatoes was so sweet, the kind of thing that reminds you why you came to Italy in the first place. Overall: great service, great atmosphere, and fantastic food. Just be sure to make a reservation!!

We ordered the 2.6 lb dry aged Florentine steak and gnocchi. The Florentine steak is a must try steak here. It was very juicy, tender, and it was bursting with flavor. The meat was nice and chewy. The steak was gigantic and it is bigger than my head. They first bring out the raw steak and weight it in front of you. The steak is enough to share for three people. The gnocchi was also very delicious. It was cheesy and rich. It was also in a way creamy and the cheese just melted in your mouth. One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth and eaten. The cheesecake is very famous in this restaurant. We tried it and understand why. The cheesecake was super creamy and soft. I had a great time and experience here. He was awesome and had us laughing the entire night. We peppered him with a lot of questions about the menu, he answered everything and also accommodated my father-in-law, who is GF. He had his own GF bread basket and was able to order almost anything on the menu. We ordered a nice bottle of Montepulciano red for the table that was $48. Others had the Hugo spritz. For app I had the anchovies with roasted red pepper, sea salt and oil over grilled crostini, very good. I skipped first course and ordered the ribeye steak for my main course. Bone in, medium rare, sprinkled with sea salt and a side of onion marmalade. The steak was very good and had way less fat than I expected. The waiter suggested a huge steak for the table, but I was the only one ordering steak that night. Maybe next time. Others ordered the fillet and it was cooked perfectly, the angels and demons gnocchi, and the veal scallopini. Everybody was pleased Really cool spot with a very good wine selection, drinks, excellent food and a fun atmosphere that you don't find at many places. Nugo was an A+ server.
