It's super cool because their place is a 14th century watchtower. One of the few places that actually still sells and serves boar per Tuscany traditions. I tried the polenta and boar and not really a fan of polenta, but that's my fault. The bore was tender and delicious and savory. We also tried the Panzanella, which is a staple Italian breakfast. Definitely a good appetizer. Vibes are nice and the waiter was nice for Italian service. They even make their own wine.

Tiny little place but great ambiance - very not tourist forward. I generally am not a medium steak person (I am well done) but risked a medium seared with a sauce and potatoes and it was amazing - not going to change other steak orders but for them yep I'll do medium. Service was great - very friendly and super efficient. That being said DO make a reservation- for those who know it's very popular.

Beautiful inside, about of twists and turns and we were in the patio , at the back of the restaurant. Amazing experience ! I highly recommend this restaurant as a stop in Florence . As recommended by Stanley Tucci , we had to stop here and enjoy their amazing delicious dishes. Reservations are highly required! The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have the opportunity to enjoy your meal in Florence . Everything was delicious from the veal lombatina to the pappardelle cing, to the onion flan , to the filetto Chianti ....just delicious . Of all of Florence this was my favorite restaurant.

Literally the best meal we had in Florence! First time trying wild boar and it was amazing. The hospitality felt warm and everything seemed so family oriented. Will definitely be recommending this place to anyone who goes to Florence!

We went here for dinner while in Florence and had an amazing dinner! We had the Ragu, the florentine steak, and the grilled vegetables for our dinner. Everything was absolutely delicious and amazing! The steak was amazing and a must try if you are in Florence!! Both panna cottas we had were delicious as well! We both loved everything we ate here and would highly recommend this restaurant!

Believe the hype. And trust me, I was incredibly doubtful at first, afraid it would be overrated given the absolute fandom around this being one of Stanley Tucci's go-to. On top of the pain of securing a reservation (they only take these over the phone; no online system), the only slot I could secure even as a solo diner was as soon as they opened, at 6pm, and via a bar seat. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by several of the staff, all warm/kind. One of them offered me a table, even though I humbly mentioned I'd be fine with whatever was convenient to them. I looked around and saw what seemed to be majority American tourists so I had very standard expectations. Well, what commenced...my god. I'm getting chills now thinking about the entire experience. Just the absolute perfect dinner my first night in Florence. Everything on the menu looked fantastic and I was even tempted to order 2 Primi (pastas) but my server discouraged it, said they were quite large. Instead she guided towards the "must" appetizer, the "onion flan with pecorino cheese and truffle" followed by their signature pasta, "pappardelle with wild boar ragù" The appetizer literally brought me to tears as soon as I took a bite. I didn't think I liked truffle but this was life-changing. And the pasta was served piping hot and also to die for. I complemented the meal with a delicious glass of white and red and ended with the utterly divine tiramisu. I will be dreaming about this meal for years to come. So epic.

The Renaissance continues in Florence and their canvas includes fantastic food, professional, entertaining and informative service and the ambiance is pure steeped in history and still creating very special meals. We had been looking at art and visiting churches and museums all day and you can arrive hungry. It is well known for its meat. The desert cart makes it past you during your time to tempt you with even more. We were given aprons to cover our unbuckled belts.

I had heard about this restaurant from various online Italy forums so made a reservation via email (though they normally like phone calls). They asked that I reconfirm closer to the date so I did and all worked out. After viewing a beautiful sunset over the Arno River, we arrived to a long line to get in, but we quickly got a nice table in the back room with the resie. The interior was cute with several boar carvings on the walls. Husband ordered osso bucco, which he devoured. I had the wild boar parpadelle, which was delicious, probably my best meal in Italy. We ordered a nice bottle of Chianti and had a delicious pannacotta with berries for dessert. Husband also had a grappa. Total bill was $115 USD. Service was pleasant, we chatted with the granddaughter of the owner who was working part time while attending university. They didn't rush us out and it was a perfect ending to our last meal in Florence.

It's almost impossible to choose only 3 dinner spots in Florence with so many good options available but I am SO glad this is one of the places we decided on. Between Reddit, Stanley Tucci and personal recommendations from friends this one felt like a no brainer. We had a 7:30 reservation for Wednesday evening and upon arrival and check in there were two lines. One for people waiting for a table with no reservation and one for people waiting for their table with a reservation. We arrived on time and were seated after about a 15 minute wait. The ambiance of the restaurant is super warm and cozy and the service was attentive. For dinner we ordered 3 different pastas to share. I really appreciated that they split each pasta for us before bringing them out. I know that they are know for their cinghiale pappardelle but our favorite pasta was the Chitarra Pomodoro with burrata. It was simple and perfect and I wish I was eating it right now. Tiramisu was great as well if you are a dessert person but I honestly could have also just gone for a fourth pasta. For sure make a reservation in advance and definitely prioritize this restaurant if you are visiting from out of town.

It's been about 10 years since our first visit and though I wondered if we should try different in new places, I'm so glad that we decided to come back. It's an intimate restaurant, but with such cozy and comforting food and surprisingly reasonably priced. The suckling pig was fantastic in one of the best I've ever had. It really teamed with porky goodness. We loved it. I'm so glad we came back and look forward to our next visit.

Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco located near the Ponte Vecchio. I had to try this since Stanley Tucci revealed this was one of his favorites in Florence. You need to make reservations, I tried calling and gave up and went to the restaurant to make reservations in person. Ordered the boar ragu ( a little too salty for me), bistecca, onion tart, truffle pasta. All of the entrees were delicious. Ended the meal with the tiramisu - absolutely one of the highlights of the meal. Service was very prompt - the restaurant was very crowded and I met some lovely people at the tables next to mine. A great dining experience- I look forward to returning!

Man this place was something else and If I could eat here every date night I would but unfortunately over 6,00 miles is stopping me. The steak was out of this world delicious and probably one of the best steaks I've had. Be open minded and go with the recommendation of having it rare. The pappardelle was also very good and enjoyed every bite of it. The service was top notch with no complaints, our server was very helpful. The space is small but that's the whole experience of being in such a beautiful old city.

This was our first meal in Florence during a 3-night stay, and sadly, was our least favorite. Perhaps it is the traditional menu that it was known for, as we are more into the modern flair. Or it could be the fact that we were here after having visited the best restaurant in San Mario and arguably the best Italian restaurant during our week-long road trip in central Italy! We asked several servers for the recommendation, and everyone suggested the pappardelle with wild boar and roast suckling pig....the pappardelle was delicious, but certainly not the best we had (I guess it gets tough after having been to 100 countries). The roast suckling pig was a different story...the meat was chewy and not tasty at all. We could barely finish our food and left the restaurant unsatisfied. The service was hit and miss. The bartender warmed up to us after seeing us struggle to stay cool. But the server took a while to take our orders after we were seated at the table. The restaurant was buzzing though, even at late hours. I am sure there must be reasons that drew people here, we just didn't get to taste the food that we enjoyed.

We ordered the 2.6 lb dry aged Florentine steak and gnocchi. The Florentine steak is a must try steak here. It was very juicy, tender, and it was bursting with flavor. The meat was nice and chewy. The steak was gigantic and it is bigger than my head. They first bring out the raw steak and weight it in front of you. The steak is enough to share for three people. The gnocchi was also very delicious. It was cheesy and rich. It was also in a way creamy and the cheese just melted in your mouth. One of the best things I've ever put in my mouth and eaten. Creamy and spicy, only if you mix in the hot parts. They come to table and weigh the meat in front of you so you know what you're paying for. It is cooked rare or medium rare. This is NOT like steakhouses in NYC. In its own category. It was presented with melting bone marrow, sea salt and cut off the bone. Extremely flavorful and tender. My only issue is that the fat doesn't render and there was silverskin in some pieces making it inedible, plus you've paid for this by weight. Great attentive service by Nick

Not many places actually have yelp reviews, but this one had so many with great feedback. The food looked amazing. When we arrived we thought they were closed, but that is because they moved to a bigger restaurant a few doors down. When we arrived at the front, the gentleman asked if we had reservations, which we didn't. He directed us to the line with no reservations. The line was a bit long, but doubled in size almost immediately. It also started pouring rain during this time and we were ALL getting drenched even with an umbrella. The non reservation line was not really moving unless people left the line. We waited a good hour. As we inched closer and closer, the lines were now both outrageous and getting seated seemed like a distant memory. The staff came out and gave out Sangria and Bread bites to help those in line feel welcome. We did finally get seated and we were so glad we waited, it was worth it! We ordered the Spaghetti Carbonara, the lobster spaghettini and the chicken breast with roasted potatoes. We also ordered sangria. Everything was so good and our total was 83 €. Prices were unbelievable! We were amazed at the quality, the service and how large the restaurant they relocated to was. It was like a well oiled machine. The food coming out quickly and efficiently. I will 100% be back if I return to Florence!

Am I the only one that thought steak florentine was supposed to be served this way? Maybe that's was my mistake but I thought that's how it was prepared in Florence. Anyways, I was immediately suspicious when our waitress asked how we would like our steak cooked and her suggestions were medium or medium well. Uhhhh what? That goes against everything I believe in! The steak came out on a hot stone slab on top of a wooden box. The slab obviously continued to cook the steak so I immediately took off a few pieces to prevent this. The steak was thick and tender with chunks of large salt grains. It looked nice all sliced up but that's where the compliments end. It lacked flavor and ended up cooking to be more medium rare when I grabbed my pieces and then even medium by the time my dad grabbed his second slice. Our waitress seemed annoyed when we asked for the truffle sauce to accompany our steak (my dad forgot to ask for it when we placed our original order) and walked away with a huff to go grab it. The fries came out cold and limp with flavorless truffle shavings on top. I'm not sure why this place has such great reviews. Maybe it got too big for its britches and the quality has declined? The one saving grace was the crema bruciata! And the very understanding hostess who gladly pushed our reservation from 7:30 to 8:00pm due to travel difficulties. Whatever the reason, this place definitely missed the mark. You can't walk three steps without seeing a steakhouse here in Florence. My recommendation? Try one of those.
