Wow, what a special place. Set inside a 14th-century tower near the Ponte Vecchio in Florence, this restaurant delivers an unforgettable dining experience from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere alone is worth a visit, but the food is what truly makes it exceptional. We ordered the ravioli, pappardelle with wild boar ragù, the Florentine steak, a mixed salad, affogato, and fresh strawberries with mascarpone cream. To drink, we shared a small carafe of red wine and a Pinot Grigio. Everything was spectacular. The Florentine steak was easily the best--and largest--I have ever had. Perfectly cooked, incredibly flavorful, and remarkably tender, it was the highlight of an already outstanding meal. The pappardelle with boar ragù was rich, hearty, and deeply satisfying, while the ravioli was beautifully prepared and full of flavor. Every dish felt authentic, carefully executed, and memorable. The wine was another pleasant surprise. Both selections were excellent and very reasonably priced, making the meal feel like an even better value. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful. He patiently answered questions, explained the menu, and guided us toward some fantastic choices. Although we thought we were too full for dessert, we're very glad we changed our minds. The affogato was fantastic, and the strawberries with mascarpone cream were absolutely delicious. One of the highlights of the evening was watching our four-year-old happily clutching two spoons and enthusiastically scooping fresh strawberries and mascarpone into his mouth. It was one of those memorable family travel moments that you don't forget. A terrific meal, a unique historic setting, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere. I called day-of and they squeezed us in at 6:15 (which was perfect) but everything before 9:30 was booked up. We were welcomed warmly by the staff (he literally said "ah yes I remember you" ) and guided to our cozy little table in the corner. Were ordered a bottle of Chianti Classico to start, as well as a few pastas plus the steak and cod. Believe the hype. And trust me, I was incredibly doubtful at first, afraid it would be overrated given the absolute fandom around this being one of Stanley Tucci's go-to. On top of the pain of securing a reservation (they only take these over the phone; no online system), the only slot I could secure even as a solo diner was as soon as they opened, at 6pm, and via a bar seat. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by several of the staff, all warm/kind. One of them offered me a table, even though I humbly mentioned I'd be fine with whatever was convenient to them. I looked around and saw what seemed to be majority American tourists so I had very standard expectations. Well, what commenced...my god. I'm getting chills now thinking about the entire experience. Just the absolute perfect dinner my first night in Florence. Everything on the menu looked fantastic and I was even tempted to order 2 Primi (pastas) but my server discouraged it, said they were quite large. Instead she guided towards the "must" appetizer, the "onion flan with pecorino cheese and truffle" followed by their signature pasta, "pappardelle with wild boar ragù" The appetizer literally brought me to tears as soon as I took a bite. I didn't think I liked truffle but this was life-changing. And the pasta was served piping hot and also to die for. I complemented the meal with a delicious glass of white and red and ended with the utterly divine tiramisu. I will be dreaming about this meal for years to come. So epic. read more

Man this place was something else and If I could eat here every date night I would but unfortunately over 6,00 miles is stopping me. The steak was out of this world delicious and probably one of the best steaks I've had. Be open minded and go with the recommendation of having it rare. They asked that I reconfirm closer to the date so I did and all worked out. After viewing a beautiful sunset over the Arno River, we arrived to a long line to get in, but we quickly got a nice table in the back room with the resie. The interior was cute with several boar carvings on the walls. Husband ordered osso bucco, which he devoured. I had the wild boar parpadelle, which was delicious, probably my best meal in Italy. It's almost impossible to choose only 3 dinner spots in Florence with so many good options available but I am SO glad this is one of the places we decided on. Between Reddit, Stanley Tucci and personal recommendations from friends this one felt like a no brainer. We had a 7:30 reservation for Wednesday evening and upon arrival and check in there were two lines. One for people waiting for a table with no reservation and one for people waiting for their table with a reservation. We arrived on time and were seated after about a 15 minute wait. The ambiance of the restaurant is super warm and cozy and the service was attentive. For dinner we ordered 3 different pastas to share. I really appreciated that they split each pasta for us before bringing them out. I know that they are know for their cinghiale pappardelle but our favorite pasta was the Chitarra Pomodoro with burrata. It was simple and perfect and I wish I was eating it right now. Tiramisu was great as well if you are a dessert person but I honestly could have also just gone for a fourth pasta. Just had an amazing meal here. We started with the bruschetta Pomodoro which was very fresh. For entrees, the stuffed rabbit special and the wild boar steaks were both fabulous. We sat outside in the back ally- and while that sounds weird it was an amazing experience and a great atmosphere (quiet and quaint). We moved inside for dessert because it started raining. The meat at Osteria was some of the highest quality I have ever tasted. Coked perfectly and served with simple sides. My wife's beef filet was in a Chianti sauce that was fantastic. Our dinner at Osteria del Pavone was one of the best and truly delightful as I recall. We entered through the charming Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco & got to Osteria del Pavone. Since we didn't have a reservation at Bianco restaurant the staff guided us thru to Pavone restaurant to a cozy spot at the bar counter. That was incredibly kind and accommodating. I guess they both belonged to the same owner as we were given menus from both the restaurants to order food. Both the restaurants had beautiful decor. One carried a traditional charm & the other a modern tone. We kicked off our meal with complimentary bread & olive oil. We ordered a refreshing Aperol Spritz and a glass of Chianti Classico. For starters, we dove into a creamy burrata topped with freshly shaved truffles and olive oil an intriguing combination of grilled crostini with toasted bread, anchovies, and a flavorful green paste & a sprinkle of olive oil. It was a unique and delicious combo to start with! For our main courses, we enjoyed a show-stopping dish, Chicken breast with pecorino and truffle & this dish was, without a doubt, the best and one of the highlight of our entire trip, & wife ordered wild boar ragu was equally satisfying. Both mains were perfectly complemented by two glasses of Bolgheri red wine. A special shout out to our bartender, who was not only knowledgeable about the menus and wine selections but also incredibly friendly and helpful, making our dinner experience even more enjoyable. I had mentioned on the phone that we've been there several times before and it was a favorite of ours in Italy. They didn't disappoint the beef, the pasta, the desserts: it was all terrific.
