Dr. Daniel Monsivais was my neurosurgeon. I was in pain that began about 2 1/2 years before I went…read moreto see Dr. Monsivais. Little by little I kept hunching over more and more. I tried Chiropractic, steroid shots, Arosti. Nothing worked. I actually went to an alternative pain clinic several times. One morning after the session I could not get off the table. They had to help me sit on a couch. Some mornings, I could not walk at all. My wife would have to give me pain killers, gabapentin and muscle relaxers before I could move again. I had to stop working August 2025 because I had to drive to work across town and sit at a desk all day. I could not drive if I took the meds and the owner would not let me work from home. I finally sought medical help. I had CT scans, x-rays and MRIs. After a VA Dr. diagnosed me, I was able to choose the Dr. of my choice for the treatment. I found Dr. Monsivais at the recommendation of a friend that works for neurosurgeons in the operating room. She told me that he was very well respected and had a great reputation. It has been 3 months since my operation. I feel like a new person. I do not have any pain, I walk upright and I go to the gym 4-5 times a week. Dr. Monsivais changed my life. He explained what needed to be done and took very good care of me. My spine was pretty much squeezing my nerves shut not allowing me to walk. Again, I feel great now.

Dr McDermott recently did a major 4 level fusion on my lumbar spine including repairing my scoliosis. Great doctors but their billing department needs help. I got the same procedure done on my back…read morethat I have had done before and they completely bungled the billing code so naturally they bill me. I have tried to call - no answer, busy, we will call you back (but don't). I even provided them with the correct code - sent it to them in the mail - and still no correction. It's been a month. Is there anyone in their billing department who is competent or even caring? Please - get it straightened out. Again - the docs are great but billing is lost and sadly, I know I can't be the only one having this issue. If so, they'd at least answer the phone.
