I have seen Gwenn for 2 issues and both times she was immensely helpful. At first I was wary of going to a hypnotherapist because I thought that meant I would be hypnotized. And for me, hypnotism was more of a carnival act than a tool to deal with life's problems. I don't even know where to start. I found Gwenn 3 months ago, during a very very low point in my life. I'm not going to go into too much detail, but my marriage was in the toilet, my relationship with my kids was suffering and most importantly, my relationship with myself was also not going well. She responded very quickly and fit me in, so I could see her the next day. When I met with her for the first time, I felt heard, seen, understood and not judged. Being in her presence brings such a peace, the best way I can explain it is, it is as though you are being hugged by someone who loves you deeply, where you can find peace and strength to do what needs to be done. I was a bit apprehensive about it at first, not because of Gwenn, but because I was afraid my daughter would not respond well to or be able to do the exercises (mainly because of her age). Gwenn is really easy to open up to and is a great communicator. I booked the package of six sessions with her, and while I didn't overcome the issue I sought her expertise for, it was not for a lack of effort on her part. Hypnotherapy does not guarantee a successful treatment for every patient in an identical manner, and even though it was not an absolute smashing success for me in particular, I am 100% better off now than before I saw Gwenn because of what I learned during our sessions and how they've helped me restructure how I view my issue and how I understand and maneuver it. I'm in a much better mindset now than I've been in a very long time. I first met Gwenn over 8 years ago, and initially saw her to get over my extreme phobia of dogs. Fast forward to the present, I've actually adopted an adorable senior dog about a year ago, and this total transformation would not have been possible had I not given hypnotherapy a chance. I was a life-long nail biter. For 30 years I wore acrylic nails to hide my habit. I wanted to stop wearing the fake nails, but my uncontrolled biting was a huge embarrassment. To be clear...it wasn't a little nibble. I bit my nails uncontrollably until they hurt. I tried gloves and sitting on my hands...nothing worked. I was out of control. I've had appointments with Gwenn every 1 to 2 weeks for the past 4 months and plan to continue regular appointments with her for the foreseeable future. Through hypnosis and energy healing, she is helping me heal from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I feel so fantastic after every session with her. I would have sessions with her daily if it was practical. Around the first of the year, I dropped a dumbbell on my foot which crushed some bones in my foot. After 6 months of not healing, I finally asked Gwenn to focus on my foot during our energy healing sessions. I came to consult with Gwenn when I was suffering from unremitting pain and muscular weakness stemming from a rare autoimmune disorder. While I was receiving treatment for the weakness, over a period of months I had exhausted conventional therapeutic approaches for the pain - including a variety of prescription medicines, massage, acupuncture, frequent showers. The pain (neuropathic burning of the skin) was most intense during the evening sleeping hours and was keeping me from sleeping more than 2-3 hours per night. The lack of sleep had profound impacts on my quality of life at home and at work. I sought out Gwenn for hypnotherapy, to assist my being able to sleep - though I had no prior experience of hypnotherapy and was largely ignorant of the benefits I could expect. Gwenn agreed to take my case and gave me some useful background of hypnotherapy. She took me through the first session of induction in her office, and handed me a CD at the end with the audio portion of the induction narrative - with her request I begin playing this audio at the times when I would want to sleep. At a second visit she gave me a second induction CD. She also applied reiki healing to my body during our sessions, and her hypnotherapy induction and reiki left me vastly improved in my level of pain. Over a period of weeks, listening to her induction recordings during sleep time was helping me achieve increased sleep hours. On a personal level, I found Gwenn to be a warm caring compassionate person - with a background in western medicine along with hypnotherapy and reiki. I thoroughly enjoyed partnering with her in learning and developing an understanding of how hypnotherapy would benefit me over time. This actually works. I went to Gwenn almost 2 years ago to quit smoking. I had been a dedicated, deeply addicted smoker (and closeted to many friends and family members) for over 30 years. I didn't really want to quit, but I told by wife I would, and I knew I should. I powered down my last three cigarettes chain-smoke style before I went upstairs for my session. Gwen, is in two words, a Miracle Worker! As a non-believer I was skeptical, but as we (both my daughter and I) had tried everything on our own to get her to break a bad habit she's had since birth, I was willing to try this too. In all fairness, my daughter brought hypnotherapy to my attention, so between her own determination and Gwen's magic sessions, she is cured (fingers crossed as it's only been a couple of weeks, but as it was a daily habit, this is HUGE progress!).
