Who knew a treasure trove of a store popped up in San Mateo two years ago (ON El Camino, no less)?! I'm so excited to have found the Mystic Flora Apothecary! They have AMAZING staff, range of products, events, services, and evolving decor. I found my place of retail worship! I had reiki/chakra/energy work done and my healer had suggested getting palo santo, sage, and specific crystals to help me clear blockages. I've been meaning to check out this shop and it was meant to be. I found the palo santo, and discovered an alluring oil and incense that I cannot stop smelling... Aromatherapy and energy work have been weak points in my healing arts education, but I'm now ready to learn! They also have cards, jewelry, customizable bath salts, teas, tinctures, sun catchers, ... whatever you may be looking for. There are books and various resources, particularly the staff like Lina! I'll be back to attend an event and get a reading. Being that it's on El Camino, the parking is not the easiest but I've gotten lucky getting street parking in the area. Love Love Love this place! My cousin recommended me this place. She got a Tarot reading here and I've always wanted to get a reading from someone else. I would do readings on myself, but I'm still learning. I wanted a real in depth reading. I came in on Saturday, almost closing time and was informed that the reader has gone home for the day and to come back the next day. I had no problem with that. I was told to book an appointment online (which I did) to make sure I had a spot secured. They do take walk ins. I spent some time though before leaving that Saturday night to take a look around and the vibe was emmaculate. They have crystals, herbs, tarot cards, books, and much more. I ended up buying another oracle deck and a book after my reading. I will def be coming back here again. If you're into metaphysics and spirituality I would def come check this place out. read more

Great little shop has lots of New Age crystals, candles and tons of herbs. Not a lot of people come here, there are candles lit on the table with sofas and two personable ladies who guide you around the shop and sell the dried herbs. Selection is moderate in size but the items are good quality. The owner has placed several huge silver candlesticks and Victorian-esque sofas in the front of the store which make it unique. The ladies said they host meet ups on subjects like Tarot, pendulum reading, and other things metaphysical a few times a week. They are only open in the evenings, and do not open on Mondays and Tuesdays. I like it. read more
