The rooms are spacious, with lots of natural light, and includes an indoor gym equipped with whatever the kiddos could want for a dreary day. The ratio is 2 teachers:7 kiddos so they get so much individualized care. The teachers really care. . . my daughter regularly comes home with gifts gifted from the teachers that they did not make/projects for away from school. They are also super flexible - we go once a week to accommodate swim. They have summer programs now. We are so sad the school year is over. Although, what is wrong with this school is the Owners and Management; their lack of communication skills are limited to children only, when it comes to speaking with Adult Parents - they belittle parents like they are are the children, and when confronted with how discontent I was becoming while getting yelled at by the owner Kate over the phone - she threaten me with calling the Police, and to use Video & Audio recording against me....when I did and said nothing wrong. After accepting her threat to call the police, she receded her words.....proceeded to contact to the police herself first, and told them that I am no longer allowed on the property anymore to pick up or drop off my daughter. I will not say this school isn't great, because it really is. but the Front Office does not handle things appropriately. They should remain unbiased and neutral, but they do not.

I honestly cannot believe what our experience has been like with Newtown Friends School. It was…read morerecommended to us by an acquaintance whose children attend there and love it. Small classes, progressive values such as inclusivity and diversity, values that so much seemed to reflect our own. It just so happens that our fourth grader was the victim of a crime over the summer before attending this new school. His behavior was affected by this event and, initially, NFS staff, using their language of partnership and collaboration, provided support that had an immediate positive impact. As they expressed a willingness to collaborate with us so did they decide NOT to actually collaborate. The simple recommendation was to keep the support in place and unchanged for a number of months. For whatever their reason, they chose not to do so. This immediately set our child up for failure as they made changes to the support that was working perfectly. Despite our efforts to collaborate, they simply changed it with no regard to what would work for our son. As a result, he was basically set up for failure. Our bright and motivated 9-year-old boy was never in so much trouble as he was at NFS. He was clearly under their critical microscope and their lack of understanding, empathy and unwillingness to work with him was both shocking and obvious. We decided that this school was definitely not a match for him or for our family. The values that they tout are good on paper but our experience is that none of them were genuine and there was no caring about our child, family or experience. "Teaching the whole child", and all of their "partnership", was chewed up and spit out along with us. But they made a point of keeping our.overpayment. Please know that NFS collects tuition fully in advance of the school year being complete. So if you invest in this place for your child's education and well-being, be prepared to lose your money if your child is deemed not good enough by those on high in administration. A sad reflection of Quaker values equating to a complete and total lack of empathy, enormous hypocrisy and obvious greed.

I let seven years go by, not wanting to learn to drive because I was nervous and scared. I decided to take action and learn to drive and signed up for lessons with Complete Auto Driving School. Sam is super calm, and has excellent tips on not only how to drive, but how to be a defensive driver, so that you will never get into an accident. I only had one lesson so far, but I have at least another two scheduled. Looking forward to my next lesson and eventually obtaining my license, all thanks to Sam!

One of the things that really stands out is how much our grandson has learned. For just 2 1/2 years old, he already knows so much, and it's clear the staff puts real effort into helping the children grow and develop. A special thank you to Miss Shannon--she is truly wonderful. She is caring, patient, and goes above and beyond to make sure the children feel comfortable and supported. It's clear she loves what she does. They also bring in lots of special guests, which keeps things fun and exciting for the kids and gives them new experiences beyond the classroom. Your child may be viciously bitten in the arm by a small boy with an eye patch and buck teeth. My son will be traumatized for LIFE due to this terrible act of violence, and the institution did nothing other than suspend the culprit for three days. NOT ENOUGH. This environment of propagated violence is completely clear from the moment you drop your son or daughter to this creative "learning" center. Children begin their day by singing ridiculous songs about sharing and mutual respect, and are fed terrible snacks conjured up from some liberal health nut's cookbook: something like California Raisins and saltines. My kid may have scurvy for all I know. No gluten or nuts are provided due to other student's allergies. IT IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD. From there, it only gets worse. instead of learning useful skills like mathematics and balancing a personal checkbook, the kids play silly and aggressive games like duck duck goose and "Baby in the Air" whatever the hell that is. It sounds like abortion to me. The instructors, and I use that term loosely, spend at least a half an hour reading to the children instead of trusting in their own abilities to make out the meanings of books by helpful pictorial guides. Then, after lulling the kids into a state of hypnosis with soporific stories and undernourishment, the teachers tell the kids they can just pull out a sleeping bag and take a nap. These are kids, aren't they? They have LOADS of energy and don't need to be treated like hungover teenagers. Besides, I don't want my young boy coming home energized by preschool after I just spent a 9 hour day at work. I want him to feel like he learned something, exhausted by the new and fascinating world set before him, not amped up on games, puzzles, building blocks, and world literature. After my son's dental shanking, ER visit, and five stitches, the school had the NERVE to settle this between us and the little bastard's parents. and when pressed by his "attorney" father and "interior designer" mother, do you know what that wretched boy claimed? He claimed he bit my son after my boy kissed his girlfriend and pushed him off a swing. EWW. The fact that a four year old would even imagine having a girlfriend offends me. The school must be promoting sex or showing one of those subversive Disney movies like Beauty and the Beast and The Little Mermaid: both trashy films about interracial dating and bestiality. So you heard it here first. Ignore the overall five star rankings on Yelp and take it from me. Miss Joan's Little School is garbage and creative learning breeds violence and promiscuity. I'm sure the nearly 40 years of "preschool excellence" are about to run up, and I'll be the first to have seen it coming.
