Went to buy some gym equipment. The gentlemen there told me it would be ready in 2 weeks, and that he would call to update. He wasn't very helpful and you could tell he just wanted to sell the most expensive equipment. 2 weeks after I bought the out-of-stock equipment and no call. Called after 3 weeks and he told me that it would be another 2 weeks. Absolutely ridiculous customer service. Avoid at all costs. read more

He was very knowledgeable and was able to recommend not only the right equipment, but also exercises and other things that might help. You could tell he loves what he does. I have had a horrendous experience purchasing a $3,200 dollar bike. My credit card was charged the day of purchase and I have been waiting for over 6 months to get the bicycle delivered. Have a treadmill from them I purchased a long time ago with a lifetime warranty. Called for repair and they said parts were no longer available from the manufacturer. I asked for a service call anyway - willing to pay the $250 to see if it could be fixed without parts. They said they weren't sure management would let them do it. I called the manufacturer who said that parts ARE still available and that GS lied because they don't like to service old equipment. I can understand why they wouldn't want to service it but just say so. If you lie why should you be trusted with any business? Time for a new treadmill, but not from Gym Source... read more

Gym Source was recommended to us as a store with great quality equipment. We visited the store and got the sales pitch. One point they were very proud of is that they have their own service department that would take care of any problems, unlike national brand stores that have poor customer service. So we buy a very expensive treadmill. So far so good. We were away for a weekend when we had huge rainfall in Boston and for the first time ever our basement flooded. There was about a foot of water down there and sure enough thats where the treadmill was. Once we got ourselves sorted out I called Gym Source to service the treadmill. This was within days of the flooding. I explained exactly what had happened. They were hesitant to even look at the treadmill saying it would now be no good. I explained that all I wanted was for aservice technician to come out, open up the treadmill, inspect it for any damage, and advise what parts should be replaced (at our expense). They eventually sent out a technician who went through the motions, but simply said we are not interested in doing any servicing to the treadmill. Keep in mind the treadmill was working. I was just worried about corrosion building up later and wanted to make sure parts were replaced ahead of time as required. No luck. So much for quality customer service. So much for having a service department in house. These guys simply weren't interested in us once they had made the sale. I would not recommend this business to anyone. The equipment is over-priced and I mistakenly thought that might lead to quality servicing and customer care but I was wrong. Don't be fooled like I was. read more

I bought a stationary bike in newton on mon was told it would be in the next mon.I called the day it was to arrive Iwas told the truck just left he checked the paperwork and was told it wasn't on the truck.Iasked to speak to the salesman I dealt with,he was going to call the wharehouse and get right back to me.Afew hours later I called him back.he told me the bike was there.I went back and there was the bike all together,but the floor model was missing.he insisted this wasn't the floor model and the reason he didn't see it in the truck was because the driver was in the back of the truck behind the load putting it together.It wouldn't fit in my car so I insisted a new one in the box.after I didn't hear from him the next day I went back and insisted a refund.I've never been lied to so much.never do business with these liars. read more

What happened to my husbands review. We looked at and bought a stationary bike which was going to be delivered to the store a week later. We were told it would be $124.00 for assembly and opted to pick it up and put it together. Week later called and were told it wasn't on the truck, salesman was going to check with warehouse and get right back to us. Two hours later husband called and was told the bike was there. Went to pick it up and was clearly the floor model (as we suspected). Salesman said the driver was assembling it in the back of the truck. They definitely tried to sell us the floor model as new. If we were told hey not on the truck can sell you the floor model take off some money we would have gone for it. Salesman insisted it was brand new and proceeded to take it apart for us to take home, he didn't know how to do that. We cancelled the next day when they didn't have a clue when the bike we ordered would come in. read more

All I can say is if you are looking for gym equipment go to gym source and ask for Matt he is amazing to work with. I needed a new elliptical for my new home and I decide to go to gym source not knowing exactly what I wanted and Matt took over 3 hours of his time to go over the equipment with me. Matt helped me find the right machine for me and my girlfriend as well as he helped me download a app for my ipad because the machine has a blue tooth connection directly to my ipad so we can track our work outs separately through the work out program the manufacturer provided. They also do financing and 0 interest over a 12 month span. There is no better feeling than to know that the service provided was knowledgeable and professional with no pressure of a sale all Matt wanted to do was be helpful and help us find what we might want weather we were going to make a purchase or not. we moved and had the company come and disassemble our treadmill for our movers. after moving we tried multiple times to call and have someone come to reassemble it with no reply. this was not a courtesy but cost $150 to disassemble and then we can't get anyone to contact us after multiple calls to come to reassemble it for another charge. they are oh so happy to sell you something no matter what your needs are, but won't service what they sell. wouldn't shop there again. read more
