An avid runner until I was 50, two hip surgeries necessitated that I change my routine to walking and pool running. For close to 29 years, this worked for me. Approaching 80 has brought about new challenges. Recently I had to go to the foot doctor who took X-rays and told me that I have severe arthritis in my left foot. This explained much about some of the difficulties I have been having with my walking regimen. He explained that more than ever I need to be very careful with my walking shoes and explained the type of support my aging feet would need to get me another 10 years of walking the river. When I went into Marathon Sports, I felt truly welcomed and was lucky to have Nina as my sales person. She is just one of the kindest most patient sales people was ever my good fortune to meet. Employees were super nice from giving recommendations for items based on what you're looking for to checking stock for other sizes or colors options. They do have a pretty solid variety here across their inventory for men, women, and children. If they don't have a particular item that you're looking for, size, or color, they can help you order it to have it be delivered to the store for pick-up. With the Patagonia brand, returns and exchanges are also easy. They want you to be satisfied with what you are getting, which I love about the brand. They are thoughtful/inventive/ aesthetically pleasing and in a class of their own. I rock my red seat shirts to the gym on repeat and sometimes wear them inside out so no one realizes what a scumbag I really am. Printed on American apparel shirts -the cut and fit is flattering ...and so long as its a large -rather forgiving. I don't feel like a chump in my tee shirt b/c I live here. I shed my non conformist angsty ways in high school- and I realize it's much more fun to join 'em. Big in Japan, Green Monster, Sweet Caroline, Battling Evil, and my new ultimate favorite "this is my sox shirt it's red & it's awesome" shirt. If you go to the website they even offer a tee shirt of the month club. If I was rich I would buy that for all of my southern CT (strugglin' in Yankee territory) Sox fans. On Friday, July 5th 5:45 I encountered a locked door (well inside the regular opening hours). This was the third time in a year that I went to Harvard Square in vain. Occasionally I need repairs. Leather World seems to be the only Rimowa option around Boston. A half dozen repairs were done okay, but not always on the first try. Often they leave glue residues inside and never make an effort to remove dents. I had repairs done in Frankfurt at the the airport and in Beijing with much better results.

The last time I was there, a salesperson talked me out of buying a voltage converter so I could be prepared for every possible scenario on an upcoming trip, and told me that almost all electronics made within the last 5 years have built-in converters.
