Since we received this gift two weeks prior to Christmas, I felt that item was purchased at regular price. I asked her why the credit was so low since I had a gift receipt. She told me store policy is to issue the lowest sale price after a certain amount of time has passed. I didn't question the policy as we were returning an item in February that we had received in December. She then proceeded to say "Well, that's how much the person paid for the item anyway." I don't know why she felt it necessary to tell me that. Was she trying to insinuate the only reason my daughter received an item from Janie and Jack was because it was marked down ?!? It was a rude & unnecessary comment to make. We, later found out that the pajama was actually purchased at $50.00. Had my experience with the cashier been more pleasant, I would have made a purchase and willingly paid the difference. However ,what she said made me feel uncomfortable and I didn't want to spend another minute in that store.

I've been getting targeted ads on social for cute plus size clothes - spring nauticals and the like. However the ills of capitalism and Ozempic have colluded to steadily decrease the availability of plus size clothing in stores for years. I was STOKED to see Lands End had a brick n mortar with plus sizes in store. The last time I'd seen them was in Sears before they went the way of the dodo. I mean if you're gonna have a regular degular cardigan for $89 I'm gonna need to try it on and feel the material before I part with my coins. We went to this location and while my husband tried on pants I stealthily made my way around the store looking for the plus sizes. I'm still not over the hour drive to Anthropologie in Short Hills a few years ago only to learn they had removed their plus sizes. I wanted to save myself from similar embarrassment and heartbreak here. At first I didn't see any - just a sign on the wall that said Sizes 16w-24w shop online for more selection. As I planned my strongly worded yet classy crash out to corporate, I noticed some plus sizes on the shelf. Mixed in with straight sizes. :GASP: I'm so used to being relegated to a dark corner in the back of the store it didn't occur to me that the clothes would be right in front of my face. Now don't get too hype because the selection was somewhat limited - though they did have the sweater and pants I had seen online. Truthfully though the women's collection in general was a bit limited because they had given over 1/2 the store to women's swimwear. I'm interested to see how the store changes as we get deeper into the season headed towards fall. Everything was 40% off and the sales associates were very friendly. Now that I have a better idea of sizing and material I can shop for other pieces I wanted online with more confidence. I hope they continue to stock plus sizes in store and expand their offerings. In the meantime I'll be swapping my disappointing letter to corporate for an encouraging one.

This is certainly a well kept up store and seemed to have more employees present on the floor. There are vast amounts of home goods and decor mixed in with the arts and crafts. For the hell of it I looked for a pair of my ideal scissors, no luck... buts that's not why I came so no marks off. I was even thinking about rounding up to 4 stars as I approached the checkout, but then I saw all the religious propaganda at the front of the store. I did know of their strong Christian leaning, and in general I don't have an issue with that. But when they are selling this stuff and making a profit on it, I suddenly don't feel like I'm in a craft store anymore. Had there been equal time devoted to other religions I might have had a different reaction. I'd still come back as long as I didn't burst into flames upon entering.

I have purchased gift cards and that takes a while, because I buy 15 at a time, but the team there is always helpful. Today, a young staff member offered to carry my boxes to the car with me AND refused the $5 tip I offered. Honestly, that was so nice. They just kept saying it wasn't necessary. It helps with choosing what book you might want to read before you get them so you know if the book is for you. And the atmosphere is good too as it is mostly quiet along with having a Starbucks which is good for if you're thirsty or hungry and want a quick bite or something to enjoy while you read. Again, utilize any Barnes & Noble left before they're all gone as they're still the best bookstore to go to that is still around.

I have a weird pride in it. But when I asked my mom to finally teach me how to knit (she's the pro) we took a trip to Michaels for the perfect yarn. It's been a while since I stopped in here and was reminded how nice this particular Michaels actually is. The staff is very nice and helpful. You may have a little trouble finding them, but when you do, they seem to go out of their way to help. The store is usually pretty clean and organized. Lots of little odds and ends on sale! A good place to grab some post-Christmas Christmas stuff since it is all like 80% off. You can always find a quick coupon with a google search. Do it! Yeah, in general things can be pricey. I used to shop here a lot of painting materials and loved the variety and convenience, but could probably have saved money by shopping elsewhere. I spent about an hour picking out the perfect yarn to learn on. But think I got it. Future scarf/flag (?) in the making!
