I found this place while my partner was getting a tattoo at Tatnuck Tattoo nearby, it came highly recommended for good food, and it absolutely delivered. First of all, everything was incredibly fresh. The flavors worked so well together, just look at my dish! The yogurt tzatziki was the perfect dipping sauce and really elevated everything. The chicken was juicy, well-seasoned, and full of flavor, and the rice was honestly unbelievable, so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The portions are very generous too, this will easily last me at least two meals! On top of that, the owner was an absolute pleasure and made my first dining experience there even better. Safe to say I've found my new go-to lunch spot whenever I'm getting tattooed! read more

Had a great experience at Gyro & Souvlaki! Luckily, this restaurant is open on Mondays when many others are closed. It was clean inside and there was indoor and outdoor seating available. We had a few questions about the menu, and the owner introduced herself and gave samples of the pork and chicken to try. I had never seen fries mixed into a gyro before, but the owner told us this is traditional and encouraged us to try it. The gyro was delicious, the meat was really tender, and the portion was huge. This a rare find in Worcester, no need to go to Boston. Yes, they serve Greek traditional gyro pita, shredded meats (authentic style), tomatoes, onions, tzatziki, fries.... Just tell them you want everything on it, don't be picky. I have been to that establishment many times and always get them for myself and family, biased on their pork gyro (other meats are delicious too; just grew up eating mainly pork gyro pita). By the way, give a try on their lamb souvlaki, it is tender and flavorful. Try their imported drinks from the fridge too. Service is very welcoming and even met the owner, she is very pleasant to talk to. The place is small, so not ideal for big groups to dine in. We stopped in Gyro & Souvlaki recently to have dinner. I had been there once before and loved it and knew my husband would love it too. I got the pork gyro for the second time and my husband decided on the lamb souvlaki plate. I loved my gyro and my husband really enjoyed his lamb souvlaki plate, it came with 2 skewers of lamb, fries, salad and tzatziki sauce. The lamb was delicious, tender and moist. I don't know what spices they use on the fries, but they are so good and I don't generally like fries. We were pretty full by the time we finished so we got dessert to go. They have Baklava and Galaktoboureko (my favorite) and that was delicious too! The woman that owns it is so warm and welcoming and the place is amazingly clean. They only have a few tables (they do lots of to go orders) and they don't have any alcohol. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

I was in Worcester and read the great reviews on this small Gyro and Souvlaki restaurant Inside had a few tables and counter seating as well a a few outdoor tables with umbrellas. I went inside and ordered a pork gyro, heavy on the Taziki sauce was a .50 charge This place was bright and clean The fixings all look great it was such a beautiful day, I decided to sit outside at one of the outdoor tables A person brought my pork Gyro to my table, nice The pork Gyro looks great, there was some heavy tzatziki sauce (garlicky) at the beginning, however not through the middle to end. There was two small slices of tomato and maybe two pieces of raw onion The pork just didn't taste as good as other gyro's that I crave to go back again Maybe it was me, give them a try ! So happy I found this place! I'm a big fan of Greek food and have had a hard time finding good options in this area (there are other good Greek restaurants, but Greek cuisine is varied and the others don't do gyros and souvlaki justice!). I ordered a chicken gyro and a side of pork souvlaki. The gyro was super fresh, with a nice thick fresh pita. They put fries in the gyro, which I wasn't expecting (I thought they'd be on the side).. but liked. I'd probably prefer the fries on the side, but won't fault them for the choice. The souvlaki was outstanding- really flavorful and tender and charred just right! For dessert I had baklava (of COURSE!) and it was delicious. It's light and flaky, very fresh, and maybe a touch citrusy? Good sweet syrup. I always want MORE syrup, but it was very enjoyable. This is going to be my new go-to for Greek take-out. read more

I was in town for my son to visit WPI. The food at this place is delicious!! The person checking me out may or may not have been the owner but was friendly and welcoming. If you are visiting from out of state, go off the immediate path from WPI to check this out. They have shared parking with a real estate agency, limited outdoor seating and about 5-6 tables inside. I would come here again. The flatbread for the gyro was delicious, and honestly? They have mastered the tzatziki yogurt sauce. Everything was fresh and this was a great (albeit quick for us, since we needed to get back on the road to head home) experience. To the staff- thank you for the excellent lunch and for making me and my two sons feel welcome. The only thing I would say is to not put the fries in the gyro:) I personally removed them to eat separately. read more

Delicious, grilled to order souvlaki! I am in town for work, arrived last night in Worcester around 9:30pm, and I needed dinner. Yelped and found Gyro & Souvlaki, and rushed over before they closed. They warned me they only had one chicken gyro left since it was end of the night but that they could grill any souvlaki I wanted and prepare it in pita or platter. I went ahead and got both pork and lamb, served in pita with a delicious garlicky yogurt sauce, tomato, red onion, and fries. I took them to go and when I opened them about 15 mins later they were still piping hot and absolutely delicious. The employees were very friendly and polite. The meat was fresh grilled right in front of me, including a perfect medium temp on my lamb. This place is a gem and I hope every local comes and supports them! read more

I grew up getting Souvlaki and fresh squeezed orange juice from a corner shop in Queens, so my standards are high. This woman-owned and run business does an excellent job. If you're driving through Worcester, it's worth the 15 minutes out of your way, unless you've already got a great gyro/souvlaki shop nearby. Super clean, meats are all marinated on site, and made with care. Bonus points for Fanta Exotic - from Armenia, a great flavor you won't find stateside unless it's imported. We were also treated to a free baklava that was excellent, as we were gushing about our meal - the owner may not be Greek, but she knows how to make great Greek food! read more

Holy tzatziki! My favorite gyro place is Gyro City out in Boston. I've tried restaurants in the Metrowest/Worcester area, and had yet to find one that made actual Gyros. Gyro & Souvlaki most definitely does! The pork is perfectly marinated and cooked. The tzatziki is flavorful. The fries are crispy. The pita is nice and thick. I inhaled my gyro in 10 min. Should I have done that? Most definitely not. Do I regret it? Absolutely not! I think I have a new favorite gyro place! read more

ok! So, I work on Front Street in Worcester and decided to take the drive to check the place out. I am SO glad I did. I ordered the Souvlaki Sandwich (without fries) its put together like a Gyros but instead of the lamb trimmed its smaller chucks of lamb. It was just as delicious! I was waited on by a very polite and helpful young man who explained the difference of the Souvlaki Sandwich compared to the Gyros. I will agree a little, a very little, about the earlier reviewer about the costliness of the "sandwich" but what the hell...IT'S LAMB! I was there shortly after 1pm and it was quiet but the inside was quaint and clean. I will most definitely be going back. I will say this; If you work downtown, as I do, order ahead and either eat there or pick up and go. It'll save you time to enjoy the sandwich and not wolf it down like I had to. Great Great food!!! Went for the lamb souvlaki ($28) and we both asked for double salad rather than fries, as we were looking forward to a mouth-watering Greek salad with the lamb, tzatziki and pita bread. The high-quality lamb was well-marinated and seasoned; served medium rare and was good. A few pieces were not chewable, but that is unavoidable with lamb. The pita bread is superb - seasoned with garlic and served warm. The tzatziki was bland - needed waaaay more cucumber and garlic. The salad, however, was the real let-down. The souvlaki plate is listed as coming with Greek salad, and we asked for extra salad instead of fries. We were served mixed greens with a few sliced cucumbers and tomatoes on top. No peppers; no feta; no olives (all mandatory ingredients in a Greek salad). Greek salad never has mixed greens (in fact, in Greece it doesn't even have lettuce.) The gyros look really good and the meat is authentically prepared, so I might give them another try for that. But kind of expensive - $28 for a mediocre meal with a very disappointing salad. Service was very good, so I'm inclined to give them another chance. Maybe ordering a Greek or village salad and specifying "WITH feta cheese and olives" and an a la carte kebab is a better way to go than the plate. read more

Juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken paired with a crisp side salad, hot crispy fries, fresh fluffy pita, and an addictive cucumber yogurt dip. I added the rice pilaf and couldn't believe how big the portion was. We also grabbed the Greek Salad, which was fresh, crisp, and loaded with real-deal feta. This place is so GOOD! We just came back from Greece in May and I didn't get one last gyro before leaving...however, I was able to get one from Gyro & Souvlaki as soon as I got home. The food is so authentic and delicious and the service is INCREDIBLE. We ordered takeout once and my husband didn't get his side of vegetables. The new Gyro and Souvlaki restaurant has wonderful fresh food. We had the pork souvlaki pita and the veggie salad...all was delicious! The pita's dressing was slightly tart and the perfect amount to complement the pita and dip the fries. Their baklava...flaky, nutty, and just sweet enough...tasted like we have to go back for more!
