Decent sandwich but the service can suck. Was in at 11:30am, 4 people working, one customer who insisted on having her toddler order (ie - took forever). I ended up sitting in a booth to wait. After said customer was done ordering, I figured maybe I could get someone to make me a sandwich. Nope. I just ended up leaving. read more

I came by here for lunch yesterday because this deli gets good reviews for the Chicken Salad. The owner (I'm assuming) and workers were very nice and my wrap was made within seconds. It was crazy how fast they were. They seem to have a lot of regulars here. I can't say the Chicken Salad Wrap was any better than most other places. The side of Potato Salad was basic too. It's hard to rate this place as excellent that I deem as ok. I think it's worth a stop for lunch and I might return, but I'll opt for something else. I'll give it 3 stars as I got my sandwich very fast and it filled me up. My stomach was messed up shortly after though. read more

Went to visit some new friends and they offered to order and pick up from the Haus. My daughter had a cheese wrap with sour cream and onion chips. Large wrap! Good amount of cheese- no complaints. I had a Caesar salad wrap. Not too messy, the sauce was a lite Caesar which I liked. What could have made this better- I am a big fan of the croutons in the wrap! Sorry I just love croutons! Seemed to be a local fav with long lines and all. Got the Exeter veggie wrap and pasta salad. They were both average. The wrap had a lot of veggies but no real seasoning or taste. The pasta salad was a little too overwhelming with the amount of dressing. Too bad they don't have many vegetarian options, this does look like a place I want to give another chance. Terrible customer service. Placed and paid for take out order online. Strike 1 - Arrived 15 minutes later, order has not been started. Strike 2 - Cashier beckons. Order is half done. I'm told the breakfast menu item I ordered cannot be made outside breakfast hours. An obvious lie. Strike 3 - Never called me to fix order, choose replacement, nothing. No explanation. No apology. Strike 4 - Cashier tells me I have to contact the online menu service to get refund. Strike 5 - Arranging refund with online menu service, they call the restaurant to take care of it on their system. The owner/manager then demands $.50 for adding cole slaw to my sub order, which they failed to charge initially. Is this some kind of temper tantrum? I want a refund for food paid for and never received and your idea of "customer relations" is to play hard ball over 50 cents?!? Goodbye Picklehaus! Listen, I get that everyone is hurting with staff right now, but you need to set appropriate time frame expectations when you tell people how long before there food will be ready. I've been standing her for 23 minutes waiting for my paid for food. People come to pickle haus on their lunch hour. I get 30 mins for a break. Quoting people 10 minutes while they wait 20+ is unacceptable. In the time I've been standing here, I've heard three people come up and say the ordered online or over the phone an hour ago and their food is still not ready. Just be honest with people and let them know how long it's going to take. read more

Poor excuse for a deli. If you were expecting anything like a New York or Jewish style deli don't waste your time. Remember Joan and Ed's? This is the complete opposite. The sandwiches are a pathetic joke with a couple thin slices of cold cut meat they call roast turkey, one slice of lettuce and some tomato for $10! Then the counter worker yelling at the other counter person for putting too much tuna in a wrap When you're cheap and skim you lose customers. I'd rather pay more for the sandwich and have an actual sandwich worth eating. You're better off going to a diner for a real sandwich or even to a sub shop. If you come here and think this place is good you don't know what a deli is or a deli sandwich. read more

Probably the best pastrami in this area although they steam it rather than grill it which will definitely enhance the flavor, I would guess they do it this way for convenience. The French roll could very well be more on the crispy side but wasn't too bad. Very inviting little place with very kind and welcoming staff. Definitely will swing by again... read more

Best food around the tomato and spinach soup is the greatest

So the photos on the website are deceiving. I could of made my wrap at home. It wasn't as big as the photos. Not cut in half's. It wasn't tucked in at the ends so the honey mustard I had was falling out. The honey mustard was very running and horseradish was strong in the dressing. I hope that the company can improve the error I notice today. I will say that butternut soup was good and staff was very friendly. read more

The sandwiches are superb. The chicken salad on an baguette is my favorite. Egg salad is good too. My kids like BLT ( a lot of bacon though) and the turkey sandwiches. Bread is always fresh. The food is on display and everything seems clean. The service is atrocious. The staff act like you are an inconvenience to them. Even a mild pleasantry is met with a blank look. One time I mentioned to one of the staff how great their sandwiches were and she replied, "I know" and walked away. If you can get over this then thisis a great place. I'm divided. The food was excellent deli fare. My tuna melt thing (inexplicably, named after a street in Boston, as were 5 other creations. Why is "The Berkeley" a tuna melt? Why name sandwiches after Boston streets at a deli in Northborough that is not Boston themed otherwise? so many questions...) was tasty, fresh, melty and flavorful. The baby, who now gets his own restaurant orders, devoured his homemade turkey tortellini soup, which was truly home made. But lordy, they call it the "Pickle Haus" and damnit, it smells like the inside of a pickle barrel! The tables have antibacterial wipes on them - like, clean up after yourselves? or, like, clean up after the person who ate here before you did? And there were half eaten crusts and napkins on the floor. Iffy. The owner came out and conversed with the baby, rightfully touting her soup creation. Great lunch!! My favorite are the thin chocolate chip cookies & pasta salad! For sandwiches I usually get the corn beef (#9) or pastrami on a bulkie both are really good!! Pickle Haus has been the go to lunch spot when working at home. The service is honestly not overly friendly but it is efficient and business like. They move a lot of people through their line at the lunch hour. While busy the wait is never long. I actually benefit from a bit of a line to give me time to figure out what to order. They have a large number of preset sandwiches and also the pick your meat, pick your bread, pick your topping variety. I've had something different almost every time I've been in and still haven't had anything I didn't like. Overall, a great place for a quick lunch in Northboro. read more

Today was my second trip to The Pickle Haus, and quite frankly the second time I was unimpressed. Both occasions my sandwich had meat that was in the process of turning. Not, quite rotten yet, but a definite slimy funk. The service was friendly enough, however my request to have no pickles on my Italian sub went unheeded. The portions were good for the price and once I removed the offending salami from my sandwich it was terrible, though I prefer mortadella on my Italian sub. I am sure that I have just had bad luck twice, the first funky meat was a roast beef about a year ago, because this place is always packed and seems to have a number or regulars. I was traveling between job sites and stopped by here randomly. I'd been to the Pickle Haus about 10 years ago and remember it being OK, so I thought I would stop in. I asked one of the ladies what the best sandwich was, and they told me it was the homemade chicken salad, lettuce, bacon, and peppercorn dressing wrap. The woman told me how everything was homemade from scratch (a huge plus in my book) and it showed. The chicken salad, which I would normally avoid at a restaurant, was delicious and fresh. I also tried their homemade minestrone soup which was vibrant, fresh, and full of veggies. This place appears to be under new management, so many of the problems in the previous reviews may have been resolved. Definitely worth checking out! read more

I stopped in for a corned beef rachel on a bulkie roll. This is the first time ever that I have had bland corned beef, didn't really taste like anything. Not good quality clearly. The coleslaw had the faint taste of onion. I would not get it again. I did see fresh turkey and stuffing there though for their Thursday special so that I may have to try. The staff was nicer in person than on the phone where the person was rather abrubt. The decor inside is cute. I will give most sandwich places at least two tries but I go to real delis often enough to know the difference in the good and the not so good.
