Ordered from here again for breakfast. I enjoyed it the first time, see previous review for details. This time, I took advantage of their vegetarian signatures section which was very much appreciated for my dietary preferences. Ain't nobody got time to wade through an entire menu to find something they can eat. I ultimately settled on the grilled veggie pocket and requested, IN ALL CAPS FOR EMPHASIS, no onions and mushrooms PLEASE. We also ordered their mac and cheese to share. I'll start with the good. The mac and cheese was DELICIOUS. It's covered in breadcrumbs and croutons, which is an interesting addition. The sauce is creamy and the noodles were a touch al dente. It was just as good when we warmed up the leftovers the following day. Unfortunately they completely disregarded my request for no onions or mushrooms. If they were unable to do that because the mix is pre-made, which is actually kinda gross as I imagine refrigeration is required and this defeats the purpose of "grilled", they could have done what other places have done which is CALL ME. What if I had an anaphylactic allergy? Fortunately, I don't, but was faced with the decision point of either just not having anything to eat other than a shared portion of mac and cheese or ripping through the pita and sifting through each of the vegetables individually to remove the onions and mushrooms which was EXCRUCIATING to do because the onions were tiny strips. Sigh. There was also no other component besides grilled veggies in a sauce in a pita and the bottom of the pita was soggy. Fuck this place. I will never order from here again. read more

My job made a huge lunch delivery order from here. I'd forgotten we were going to order so I brought my own lunch (deli sandwich) & brought their California Cobb Salad home for dinner on such a hot day. Plus I'd have more elbow room & time to pick thru it & cut things up. Many hours after being made, it was AMAZING!!! The ingredients: FRESH, the portion: GIANT, flavors: & the price: $14.92 (pretax) made it ALL WORTH IT!!! I never heard of this place, but I intend to order again.. Great job everyone read more

Firstly, I ordered broccoli cheddar soup. I have never had a broccoli cheddar soup like it. I thought it had spoiled. Secondly, the spinach pie was extremely disappointing. I'm not sure if it was the dry bottom or the filling, but it was not good. When I called about the soup, to see if was ok, because it seemed spoiled. All I got was that the new chef followed the recipe. No offer to replace anything. Since I bought 2, I'm just out of luck. Same with the spinach pie. The tuna melt sandwich is the only reason for 2 stars. It was good. It cost me over $50 for food I'm mostly throwing away. $12 of that were charges for delivery and automatic 20% tip. Very disappointed and an expensive lesson on where not to go. read more

They are very organized and detail oriented - all items are individually labeled, etc. The service is friendly and easy to work with and of course, the food is really good with generous portions. Not your typical Deli but more of a deli style sandwich place which has bit more than only sandwiches. Gets super busy during afternoon and its always a good idea to call them and order before you go (unless you wanna sit down and eat). The food: I would have loved to give them a minimum of 4 but alas. Nothing to take home kind. I went there 3 days back and took me some time to remember what I had. I love deli food and had some expectations from them but felt Weintraub is much better. The sandwiches get soggy ( my work place is like 2 mins away) fast. The soups generally taste a little bland most of the time. This is a great little Greek spot for lunch. Beware that if you get there after 11:45, you are probably going to be waiting a while, and this is the only reason why I give this place a 4 instead of a 5. The food is consistently good, the service at the counters is great, and best of all, if you are a student and you show your ID, you get a free drink! If you like soup, look no further. There are about 12 different soups every day, and they are all bone-warming on a chilly Worcester day. You also can't go wrong with the Souvlaki or the gyro. read more

I feel like this is a decent place judging by what I've seen others get but all I wanted was a cup of soup and it was awful. It was literally a very SOLID cup of mush. I thought maybe it just had a lot of fat and needed to be heated up more. I kept heating it up but the consistency never changed. It was literally as if they took some rice and boiled it until there was no water left and it just became a solid cake. I don't get how you can mess up a chicken stock based soup this bad. read more

If those Woo' people in the know, Spoodles is where you go to get your sandwich on. Sandwiches are super affordable and generously stuffed. My office swears by the turkey and chicken options, but the Veg in my office, also leaves satiated. My favorites include the Turkey Ranch ($6.29): turkey, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion with ranch dressing served on focaccia; the California Club ($6.29): turkey, mayonnaise, guacamole, lettuce, tomato on ciabatta with swiss cheese; and the Turkey Reuben ($6.29): Grilled turkey, Swiss cheese, sour kraut with Russian dressing on dark rye (warning: you must LOVE Russian dressing, or don't order this). The staff are super friendly. They genuinely seem to care when they ask how your day is going, and they are pros at keeping the line moving. There are separate lines for phone-in orders, and people who need to order (yay efficiency!). There is ample seating- and an upstairs where you can hide from people if needed. (Only lawyers avoiding clients they've spent all morning with, understand this perk) All sandwiches are customizable. Love love love. So happy I happened upon this place. I got a chicken sandwich that was ah-mazing. Freshest tasting Bread I've had in Worcester other than Regatta. The place is massive! I came before 11 so it was empty. Super bright and clean. Staff was happy and even discussed what their fave sandwiches were with me to help me decide from the massive menu. Weird little complaint is the pickle spear that came with my sandwich (which I always look forward to) tasted like a cucumber, not a pickle. Which was unfortunate. What a nice little surprise on Main Street in Worcester!The food is definitely on the higher-end realm of fast food/pizza joint but my Greek salad with chicken was 11 dollars so I found it to be an incredible value even if it wasn't the most amazing Greek salad I've ever had. The inside is spotless, the menu is extensive and the employees were unbelievably friendly and went over and above to say hello and make sure I had everything I needed. I can't believe this place has so few reivews and so few stars. If you work anywhere in the central business district, you've eaten here, and you've liked it. Spoodles screams Worcester even though I assume most of the patrons hail from the surrounding suburbs. Hands down my favorite lunch place, and because their prices and quality are so great I've failed to brown-bag my lunch with regularity just so I can try more of the menu. The place is dark and the menu is absolutely huge. The list of sandwiches goes on forever, and they're happy to customize any order. As somebody who leans vegetarian the place is extremely friendly with a great list of veggie sandwiches (hummus tabbouli wrap is A+) and vegetarian soups (the lentil is as good as any I've had). That said - their Cape Cod chicken salad is high on the list of reasons I'll never give up on eating my animal friends entirely. The girls taking the orders are super friendly and in a sea of office workers and regulars, they were quick to begin recognizing me and understanding my daily dilemma: to order the potato salad or not. With sides at only 67 cents if you order a sandwich, you can't go wrong. And the potato salad is tops. For under 7 bucks I walk away with a sandwich of the BEST QUALITY INGREDIENTS and a huge side. I can often stretch it into dinner as well, or split the meal with a coworker for a beyond reasonable lunch. I can't say enough about this place. Everything is homemade and fantastic. I love it here! I work in the area and come here often for takeout lunch. They are fast and friendly! I love their spanakopita meal with the salad and roasted potatoes, their taziki sauce is amazing and they have the best soups and salads too. One of their pasta dishes is enough for two days lunch, and my favorite right now is the pasta primavera. They get to know their customers and are always very friendly and efficient. Once I had to wait a few extra minutes for my order to be ready and they insisted I take a free brownie or cookie to apologize. I absolutely recommend them! read more

I love this place because it's conveniently down the street from where I teach, and it's great when I'm in a pinch to grab lunch. Some of the things on their menu are better than others, but for a deli, I think they're pretty good. Most of what I get from here have been their wraps, which are really filling, but a few of my friends will get the salads from time to time. One of my friends has had a pasta dish. Overall, I think their wraps and sandwiches are their selling point, everything else is average. Again, great for being in a lunch rush, and the food's good, not great. I think I would've given this place 4 stars if the prices were a little lower, but hey, I still come here pretty frequently! read more

In search of fast yummy food on a cold winter day. SOUP! yes! The place is on a busy business street, so there is no parking anywhere. Maybe you'll find a meter...maybe?? Overwhelmed with the menu, I stuck with the basics. Tuna melt and Chicken and Rice soup. Lots of tuna, darkly grilled thick bread, semi melted cheese washed down with salty but tasty soup. For me, it is basically my lunch and dinner so for it being $5.99 a piece, it's great! They are known for their soup, but I haven't tried any so cant comment on it. While I was their, I have seen people ordered chicken caesar salad that is piled onto their plate. My friend had ordered their pasta dishes, but was not quite satisfied, so I might have to say stick with soup and sandwiches. They do serve a huge variety of sandwiches from deli to vegetarian to wraps. They close around 5, and gets pretty busy around 12 for the afternoon crowd. Can always ordered ahead of time and then go pick it up. Will definitely go back. Wished they have Wi-fi though. read more

It's good, but the wraps are small for what you pay. I formerly worked closer to Boston, and this place would never survive in Quincy, because the competition demands a good value for the food served. The wraps at Spoodles are roughly half the size that I am used to for the price you pay. Would I go back? Sure. The sandwiches and wraps are tasty. The pickles are very good. Excellent menu with all the traditional Greek-American favorites, and the restaurant is very clean, big points for that! Friendly servers and they are happy to explain anything on the menu. Daily specials. I've eaten here 5 times now, and it's very good, but my one and only complaint is almost everything I've ordered/eaten is super salty ... I can actually feel my blood pressure rising and my heart pounding after eating lemon-chicken soup or spinach pie ... can't even imagine how high the sodium content must be! Tastes like someone just held a salt shaker over the food or else the cook is a smoker and has dulled tasting capability. This is my only negative point and it's a darn shame, because the food is delicious and the sodium detracts from the flavors. I'd eat here every day if they only made their food with much less salt, or offered a low-sodium option. read more

Since the new owners took over, the quality of the food has gone down considerably. What used to be very good, is now mediocre. The owner stands behind the cashiers and just seems to monitor their every move, as a customer it is very uncomfortable and you can sense the tension among the staff. Was walking along Main Street when I saw the sign for this place advertising their soups. Walked in and was greeted by owner who just happened to be stocking fridge. I asked about the soups and he got cashier person to walk over with the menu to explain the different flavors and sizes. Got the butternut squash soup which was delicious. With the new management (Toula and Archie Economou bought in 2016) they're bringing a lot of authentic Greek specialities to the traditional deli menu. You can still get the old favorites (like the delicious chicken labelle salad) but now there are savory souvlaki plates of fresh and tender meats, baklava, dolmas and -- my favorite -- the moussaka. The flavors and textures of the moussaka -- which is like a Greek shepherds pie with layers of potato, deliciously seasoned ground meat, eggplant, topped with cheese -- are eyes-rolling-to-back-of-my-head delicious. Eating it is a religious experience. I'm told this is Toula's own recipe. It's big enough for more than 2 meals ... but sometimes it's hard to save it. Highly recommend. read more

Big weekday lunch rush deli with a pretty standard, but large menu. Spoodles isn't an Italian deli, so you can also get Ruebens and gyros and lots of other stuff. They were super friendly & even though they were close to not serving anymore that evening, I lucked out. They had a super tasty spanikopita which is my favorite thing to eat w/ roasted potatoes & salad. The real trick of the trade, if you are just grabbing something quick for lunch, is to order ahead and they'll have your sandwich ready to pick up in 10-15 minutes. This used to be an awesome lunch spot. Since the new owner took over last year, I've yet to have them get my lunch order right. I've been overcharged at least three times. Other times the food I've paid for is not the food I've received. The owner gets highly apologetic, but the problems persist. It's a wide-ranging menu of soups, salads,and sandwiches, now with Greek specialties as well. But the food quality has gone down, the prices have gone up, and I can get a full sit-down meal at a good local restaurant for the price of many of their salads or sandwiches. I had been returning for their Greek specialties once in a while, but the spinach pie I had today was so salty as to be almost inedible, and I'm not shy about using salt. Fantastic!!! We have been here two times now and I believe we will be coming a lot more. Super tasty soups and the softest freshest bread I have ever had at a deli. They have so many tasty looking Greek dishes that we are so excited to try. The prices are on point for all menu items. The only complaint I could think of is that they are not open after 4pm or the weekends. So I will always make sure I don't miss an opportunity to go. Make sure you try the lemon chicken soup! My review doesn't involve food quality or service. My daughter worked for them for a week but due to her not having a car, it involved her needing a ride or bus ride to go back and forth to work. An opportunity showed up right next to where we live and she regretted having to explain to the owner that she would have to leave. This despicable person embarrassed her, told her she was being disrespectful, in front of the whole staff. So, your food could be good or not but your heart is rotten Sir, shame on you. read more

The food is good, but the customer service is horrible. I ate luch at Spoodles today, and I ordered a California club sandwich without mayo. As you can guess, they made the sandwich with mayo. I had ordered the sandwich 'to go', so I had to walk all the way back (in the rain) to Spoodles to get a new sandwich. I was annoyed, but I do understand that sometimes sandwiches aren't made correctly. However, when I returned the sandwich, the man who allegedly made it told me that there wasn't mayo on it and searched through the sandwich in front of me. When I pointed out the mayo (or some other white condiment), he told me that sometimes the guacamole lightens. Really??? I can tell the difference. Basically, this man was calling me a liar. Would I really walk all the way back to Spoodles in the rain for a sandwich that didn't have any problems? The food is good, but don't expect them to make it correctly if you have a special order. And make sure you triple-check it before you leave the restaurant. read more
