The location is just two blocks from the beach in a quiet area of town. The staff is nice but simple things like mention that our safe didn't work and the keys constantly demagnetizing we received the response of yah that's pretty normal. So while they did attend to them known issues here don't seem to be a concern. The pool was nice to have but its not scenic and was currently walled by plywood boards which looks horrible. The pool bar service was either not there or staffed with someone who was untrained. It was affordable and adequate.

It's located less…read morethan 2 blocks from the beach, but the hotel itself lacks any sort of character or any sort of feeling that makes one feel like they're in France. If you like typical American budget chain hotels, stay here. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful when we had questions about the trains and transportation. The front lobby area was also where a new bar area was located, and the front desk staff kindly poured us a glass of wine on request. With no true ambiance in the front lobby area, it's really up to you to create your own good experience here -- we asked them if there was some light music they could play while we enjoyed our wine, and they obliged, but it was a stretch to hear anything and it really just felt like we were drinking wine in a boring and stale budget hotel lobby, which is exactly what we were doing! Our room on the 4th floor was considered a Junior Suite. It was quite small and the bathroom was not laid out well at all. In fact, there was a door stop near the toilet to prevent the door from crashing into the toilet itself, and on our first day I bashed my toe into it. The door stop was attached to the floor, not attached to the door, so it was really easy to cause an injury. Here I am 8 days after I bashed my toe, and I've still got toe pain. Another interesting note is that the hotel was no where near full yet our room assignment was right next to another guest. February is the slow time in France, and we never ever saw another guest at this hotel. However, we found it odd that the room they assigned to us was smack dab next to the only other guest we think was staying in this hotel, and we could hear everything from our next door neighbor through the connecting door. With a hotel so empty, I find it annoying that they placed us right next to another guest. Had we been staying longer than just two nights, I would have requested they move us. WiFi was easily accessible at the Clarion, and the signal was strong and good. Both our room and the hotel itself felt clean and safe, so if that's all that matters to you, you can check the box YES in that regard. For me, I prefer some character when I travel, and this hotel could have been any hotel in any city due to its "vanilla" flavor. Overall, this stay was fine for what it was, but next time around in Cannes we'll splurge a bit and stay across from the water.

Situated in the center of the city, at famous all over the world promenade de la Croisette, it's a walking distance to everything: Palais de Congres where takes place famous Cannes Festival every single year, Casino, shops, restaurants, marina, all tourist attractions and sights. Numerous grand boutiques are right at the hotel or at the corner. Decorated with the photos of famous movie stars, directors and celebrities, visiting Cannes film festival, and most of them were staying at this hotel of course. If you book a regular standard room - don't expect that it will be big and spacious like in the same kind of hotels in US for example. It will be pretty small, but elegantly cozy and with great bed, very comfortable linens and duvet. If you need ice - call room service, there is no ice machine. The suits and penthouses are much larger and some of them have balconies and gorgeous Mediterranean sea view. Minibar in the room, no coffee or tea maker, it's not Marriott... Breakfast is an enormous buffet and it would cost you about 40 euros per person. But it's really something. They offer all you can think of. And Champaign of course - Pommery. Smoked Salmon, cheese selection, meat cuts, order your omlet or eggs of any kind... If you're a breakfast person- you'll indulge yourself. But if you eat just fruits for breakfast- that's offering much more for the price they charge. You can do room service too. SPA is in the building. Looks trendy, but I haven't tried their services. Fitness center looks good too. Occupies two rooms and features various cardio machines, strength, weights, cycling machines, and equipment for functional training and even for boxing. They offer packages, like 5th night for free, SPA package etc. The outdoor pool is right next to the Fouquet's restaurant and it's not big, but enough to relax and have a drink may be. There is a bar right next to the pool. They have their private beach. The rates are really incredibly high to my mind and there are people who are paying the price for some hotels less than they charge for the sun bed at the beach, but for the Cannes standards I would say that it's quite normal. Full day at the beach (9am-6:30 pm) would be 50 Euros average for person. Half day would be average 30 per person. They have slight difference if you reserve at pontoon, first raw or regular beach area. And the water sports rentals are at the pier, invcluding such activities as parasailing, flying fish, water-skiing, wakeboarding, etc. Also lessons with instructor are possible. There is a restaurant and lounge area. Restaurant is open for lunch from noon. Beach looks beautiful. But I noted that after rains or light storm they don't bother to clean it- the seashore and the water there was incredibly dirty, full of disgusting garbage. For the hotel of this level it was very disappointing, especially if you have to pay for the beach 40-50 Euros per person and overlook all this dirt. Of course I understand that people don't go much into to the water to swim, but just stay there the to show off, but if the water was cleaner may be they would go in more... On the territory there are 3 restaurants and 2 bars. Fouquet's Cannes as the one in Paris is really famous in the city as well as the Rotonde Louise Pommery Bar. There are charming helpful concierges working all the time and they will be happy to reserve you a table at the Michelin star restaurant of your likeness or suggest you something nice to their taste. Valet Parking for your convenience. Great place for your romantic holidays at French Riviera.

They apologized and promised to upgrade us to an even better room than the one we had originally booked. When the room was finally ready, we were completely shocked. We had paid nearly €10,000 for a 7-night stay, yet the room was under 25 square meters, had no balcony, and barely had enough space to walk around. The staff were rude, especially the older French woman at the reception, whose only explanation was, "human error." We had booked this stay 1.5 months in advance, so this excuse was simply unacceptable. They eventually moved us to another room that was only a few square meters larger and located right next door--even though she had insisted the hotel was completely sold out. On top of that, guests have to pay for Wi-Fi, €75 per day for parking, and breakfast wasn't even included. To make matters worse, the omelet station uses the same pans and utensils for pork products despite the large number of Muslim guests staying at the hotel. This shows a complete lack of consideration for their guests. The hotel itself is outdated and poorly maintained. One of the elevators was out of service throughout our stay, resulting in long waiting times. We checked out after just 24 hours and were offered no refund, no discount, and no compensation whatsoever for the nearly €10,000 we had paid. We didn't even receive a genuine apology or a smile from the older lady at the front desk. I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel. Save yourself the disappointment and stay far away.

HOWEVER, we arrived much too early for our reservation and instead of allowing entry (which I do understand, had it been explained politely and apologetically), we were looked up and down with an air of dismissiveness and told to return later. When we did return we were AGAIN looked at askance because we arrived in shorts - though we explained we brought more appropriate attire to change into as we had had been shopping in Antibes earlier in the day - and nearly denied entry AGAIN until the more senior security person deigned to approve our entry. To top it all off, I never felt welcome to enjoy anything beyond the bar and grill area, the martini was only OK at the bar, my moules were COMPLETELY oversalted (and I like salt!!) and when I told the wait person, all she did was repeat what I said with surprise and clear the table... no offer to bring a comped dessert or drink or knock some $ off the bill. All in all very disappointing. I live in San Francisco which is full of tech billionaires and yet to feel so excluded at the start of this experience and to end with such mediocre food, really was a sad thing. I would have expected more given the glowing article I had read in Condé Nast. Perhaps if you are a straight couple it's a different experience - we are two women, and the whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth...

Staff was professional and helpful, breakfast was expensive but worth it. Had an issue one day with not getting neither housekeeping nor turndown service, which in the July heat is more than frustrating when you're lacking clean towels without sand from the beach on them for the next day. Asked the staff if we could have housekeeping when we noticed we hadn't gotten turndown either, but sadly it was too late at night. We went to the hotel lobby bar, where suddenly the hotel manager came and apologized and offered us complimentary champagne, and we discovered the next day the housekeeper had left us a letter of apology and some chocolate boxes for our inconvenience. They absolutely more than redeemed themselves, which says a lot about the level of customer service. I am definitely staying here the next time I'm visiting Cannes.
