Everyone had a place to stay, hang out, or get some space. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly - making us feel at home. Their morning breakfast was top notch. The chapel, restaurants, cafe's, and sights are all within walking distance. This is a place that reminds you the history that permeates France with buildings that are hundreds of years old (but don't look shabby) and a friendly atmosphere. If you are planning on exploring Normandie you can base out of here and be within 1-2 hours of everything.

Much of Bayeux was walkable from here, and driving to the American and British beaches was very manageable. You can see the entrance to the museum with the Bayeux Tapestry from their front door. Restaurants we planned to taxi to were walkable. The facility is a several century old mansion, totally renovated by the architect owner who has done everything first class. Our room was huge, everything was new, and everything worked. The staff was outstanding in their efforts to accommodate a couple Americans. Breakfast equaled the facility - in a formal dining room setting and with an extensive selection. I would recommend Hotel Tardif Noble Guesthouse to anyone, whether they're five star hotel people or campers.

But the beds are comfortable, shower has great water pressure, and the staff is extremely friendly. Location is great as you can walk around town easily. Only issue that I don't think you can fix, as you can hear other rooms sometimes. Breakfast is good. I would definitely recommend for a few nights went in town.

You ring the bell at what appears to be the main door and the hosts are responsive. After you're let in, you use a different, more nondescript door, for entry/egress thereafter. This hotel has 4 rooms (2 per floor, on what in the U.S. would be the 2nd and 3rd floor). There is no elevator and the stone stairs are fairly narrow. That is not a criticism; I'd expect few if any guest-houses (and few hotels) in the area would have elevators. It is just something to be aware of if you are travelling with heavy bags. The hosts are willing to assist with bags, also. Parking is on-street, just across the road from the hotel. It is parallel parking and first come - first served. Breakfast is arranged with the hosts, usually from ~ 8 - 9:30 a.m. and served in the common room. Sandrine is a very good cook, and even makes the jams and yogurt herself! Breakfast when we were there was croissants/baguettes with jams, yogurt, and some sort of other baked item (and apple 'loaf' with caramel sauce, for instance; quite good). There is coffee and juice as well. If you are used to a more meat-centric breakfast (I am not), this one is more pastry-centric. We enjoyed the breakfasts. The hotel (actually 'guest house', because the hosts live on-site) is an old house from the mid-1800s which has been completely renovated. It feels old, but in a good / historic way. The room itself was nice; we had a 2-room configuration (the 2nd room was quite small, but adequate for a bed for 1 person). The main room was sized well, and include a desk, wardrobe, and chairs. I don't recall noise being an issue (though I was jet-lagged the first night); Bayeux seemed fairly quiet. The windows from the main rooms overlook the road outside. Our room had a fantastic view of the cathedral from the bathroom. The hosts can provide advice for Bayeux and side trips to the many WWII sites in the area. The hotel is a 3-block walk from the museum housing the Bayeux Tapestry, also. The only issues we had were that, without actively consulting your maps-app on the phone, the hotel was somewhat difficult to find (there are likely ordinances limiting signage, and they *do* have a sign in the window, but we missed it). The location is about 2 blocks south of the cathedral, in case that helps. This isn't a complaint, but more advice to be more prepared than we were. Other than that, the WiFi upstairs was hit-or-miss; one evening it was great, but the next morning it was not great. The owners will be happy to reboot the router if notified, and the WiFi in the common room downstairs was solid. I would stay here again if we returned to the area.

I was placed in a room with a mini split that worked fine for cooling. Now the negatives. The room was at the top of a very narrow winding staircase. Not easy to get up or down those stairs after walking around Paris for days and hauling luggage. Though I could walk around the bed so floor space was more generous than some other rooms I had to watch not to bump my head on the ceiling and I'm not a tall person. There was no coffee maker in the room or an electric kettle to heat water for tea. The bath was a small plastic enclosed shower with one soap dispenser. Water cups were paper, placed on the edge of a small basin with stacked wash cloths and hand towels. Aside from the stairs the worst part was a heavy perfumed smell which was nauseating and took some time to adjust to. The white pillowcases had several long dark hairs and the duvet cover had some staining. Were I not booked for just one night in a very busy town I would have relocated. The price was high for quality of accommodations, $306.84 for one night. My least favorite of 4 hotels across France during my travels and one I would not stay at again.

We have stayed here now twice, so I thought I should write a review…read more Simply put, if you are planning on staying anywhere near the north of France, this is the place you should stay. It is a quaint, quiet and beautiful B&B right in Bayeux, where the famous Tapestry resides. It is a short walk to the shopping and restaurants, as well as the Tapesty and the Notre Dame of Bayeux one of the few places untouched by WWII bombs as the Germans had surrendered by the time the Allied forces got to this town. You will not need to drive to visit any of the places in town. St. Victoire is run by a local family, and setting up the reservation is a very easy process. I recommend email. The rooms are immaculate both in cleanliness and design - a nice mix of modern and classic. The wi-fi works well, so internet connection is not a concern. There are 3 rooms, which we rented one the first visit and all 3 for the second visit (in-laws, son came as well) so we've seen all 3 now. All 3 are equally wonderful, although the bottom floor room is a little bigger. It has a mini kitchen so you can prepare food if you want to save a little money and need a break from the local fare. Note that the rooms are in a tower, so steep spiral stairs are a consideration (the tower was a sniper watch tower during WWII really neat!) if you book one of the upper two rooms. The father and daughter don't speak English, but if you are there on the weekend, the mother can speak some. Don't worry, you'll get by just fine if you don't speak French, they are very open to figuring out what you are asking for with a dictionary, and super helpful. There isn't any onsite parking, but we found no issue on both trips (stayed 4 days each trip) in finding street parking within a block of the location - the nearby park is a great place to park as well as relax. The city is so safe, it's not a concern. One thing to keep in mind is that Bayeux is a small tourist town, so for lunches and dinner, selection is limited. Most of the places are very good, but there are a few "touristy" restaurants to watch out for. Everyone we ran into in the shops and restaurants had no issue with English speakers and we felt quite at home while Cruising the town. Breakfast is included and served whenever it is convenient for you as a guest and is quite excellent. They will coordinate with you as to your preferred dining time in the morning. All of the continental style breakfast is organic and sourced/baked fresh. The croissants are to die for! Normally we never stay in the same place twice, but this place was so wonderful the first time, we had to stay again. Notes: If it's rainy, keep the windows closed, rain will splash in! Also,there is a nice courtyard that is closed off from the outside and private, a nice place to relax. Of course, inside the great room (where they serve breakfast) is a nice place to relax as well. This Manor-House is very quiet, so expect peace and quiet if you stay here.
