The Church I attend in Covina was having a terrible problem with people using the large bushes around the Church to drink, drug, sleep, use the bathroom, and who knows what else. It was terrible. We decided to just remove all of the bushes. I had several people come and give estimates, and H&E was $200 dollars less than the lowest. They came out, and within short amount of time, cut the bushes down, shredded them, ground the stumps, and did the clean up. After reading the great reviews on Yelp, I decided to send Edwy a text, I really thought he would take forever to reply, but to my surprise, a couple of seconds later I got a text back, so I decided to set up a meeting for a free estimate. I usually hate it when people are not punctual, but Edwy show up on time the very next day, (two thumps up for that!) he was very professional, respectful and most importantly knowledgable about his work. After searching on Yelp for a good tree service to trim my palm trees, I came across this one. I sent a request through yelp and was contacted within 10 minutes and spoke on the phone within the hour. Edwy quoted me a great price and said his brother would be at our house the following morning about 10am. Right before 10 Enrique pulled up. Very kind and polite. He and the gentleman with him had the two trees trimmed and cleaned up within about 30 minutes. They took the time to move some of my yard pottery and planters. He even swept out the pool. I even received a follow up call to see if i was happy with the job. I was incredible impressed and happy with the results and will call again when they need trimming in the future. I had actually called another tree service, we used before, in early August and was quoted a higher price and they'd come when they had time. After waiting a few more weeks, I called again and said I needed them trimmed for my daughter's birthday party and I needed them to come the next week. I was told they would. H&E Tree Service trimmed 10 Queen Palms, 3 very large Pittosporum, 4 fruit trees, and 3 other trees for me, in addition to removing 5 trees/large shrubs. They work hard! Everything was done in six hours, including stump grinding for all that they removed. I was pleased with the work they did, but would caution anyone hiring a tree trimming service to be specific about what you want. I thought the charge for their service was reasonable, and the job they did with clean-up was exceptional! Very few contractors who have worked at my house have left it as tidy as H & E. H & E gave me a good price to cut and reduce 2 large Chinese elms. The team of 5 arrived on time at 8.30 am in a new truck towing a powerful chipper. Two and half hours latter they were finished. I had quotes from 4 different tree services to cut down a large dead avocado tree that was tangled in some power lines and cut back a massive oak tree overhanging the side of the house. The gentleman who came to give a quote was willing to negotiate prices where the other 3 services didn't really want to budge. He gave me the lowest quote and we joked around a bit. Upon the day of the job the team arrived early and really hustled. They helped me move an a classic car out of the way that wouldn't start, then helped put it back. Edward and his team are absolutely great. We have a HUGE oak tree in our front yard that hadn't been properly trimmed in years. They knew exactly what to do, to not only comply with Pasadena requirements, but also focus on the areas we wanted and to keep the integrity of the shape of the tree. It looks amazing. I called for a tree trim and yard clean up at the beginning of the week. Edwy answered right away and came the next morning to give me an estimate. My backyard was overgrown with an insane amount of weeds, it was a huge mess. I told Edwy I tried tackling the weeds myself but didn't get too far before burning my weed trimmer out. H&E is great -- from the first visit to provide a bid to the final day of work. We had three large sycamore trees that had to be cut down because of the shot bore beetle. Edwy came out right after I call and emailed me a bid later that evening. One of the trees had a bee hive in it, so Edwy and his crew had to wait until I could safely get all of the bees out. They were very patient, and having to split the job into a couple of visits was very accommodating of them. I HIGHLY recommend this family-owned business.
