Miguel and his team are true professionals, they did an incredible job removing a crape myrtle that was overgrown and causing too many issues for me as a homeowner. We were looking for a company to cut down some trees in our backyard. We got estimates from 6 companies and narrowed it down to M&M for their professionalism and reasonable estimate. They had to reschedule our appointment because of another job they didn't get to finish, so they came a day later. A team of 6 people arrived with a wood chipper first thing in the morning on the day of the job. They started around 8:00 and finished about 6 hours later. I liked that the crew worked hard and did a good job cleaning up the yard afterwards. They did bust a pipe in the process and didn't say anything about it until my husband pointed it out. I went to check it out and happened to touch one of the nearby sprinklers only to find that it was broken as well, but put back in place. I then went to all of the other sprinklers to see if any other ones were broken. They did repair the two items, but I wonder if they would have said anything if my husband and I weren't there to point out the damage. read more

Wow. just wow. Look no further, if you need to remove or trim any trees, make sure you call M&M. you don't really need to check elsewhere, M&M is fair and they get the job done. It's a father and son business. I had a few tree of heavens growing in my backyard and it was becoming too cumbersome to maintain. Leaves and branches constantly fell and it made the backyard messy. I wanted to remove them, but was afraid of the cost associated with removing them. I called M&M and they gave one of the best quotes around. a few days before they were sit to arrive, Miguel called me to confirm. On the actual day, the workers were actually at the property before me, Miguel told me he was going to be there between 10-11 and was the team was there at like 9:50am (i rent out the property and don't live there)... his team is very punctual. when they actually got to cutting the trees, it was an interesting approach. They needed to remove the limbs of the tree from the roof, as the backyard door was too small. They also bought in a industrial sized tree shredder and they were considerate to only turn it on when they amassed a pile of branches and stumps (that machine is very very loud). We had a HUGE pine tree growing into and nearly pushing over one of our walls. We also had another pine tree growing from the side of our hill and the roots were uplifing the concrete slab upon which our pool equipment sits. Needed my very large and bushy tree that is over two stories high and over 20 feet removed. Upon getting a quote, Miguel was very quick to respond and was able to come over to see our tree. After getting a couple of quotes, we chose this company because they seemed very professional, reliable and knowledgeable. I hired Miguel and his team at M&M Tree Services to remove a number of trees from my backyard and grind out the stumps in February 2022. I was going to put in a block wall, and I had a massive rubber tree/ficus that was out of control. He and his team did a terrific job at the tree removal. It was a fairly large job, and they were efficient and knocked the job out in one day. I paid them an extra fee to transplant my grandmother's Camilla tree from one area of the yard to another area of the yard. The person removing the tree wasn't very careful or deliberate with the transplantation. He hacked at the tree roots, and did not take ANY of the root ball of the tree - when he removed the tree, he took only the tree's roots, and NONE of the soil around the roots. (No root ball was transplanted, only the bare roots.) Unsurprisingly, the transplanted tree died. I was really sad that the Camilla tree died because it reminded me of my grandmother who passed away several years ago. I would not recommend hiring M&M tree service for any transplantation services, I would hire an arborist instead. During the removal, the team accidentally knocked out several sprinkler heads. They did come back at a later date to replace the sprinkler heads. As part of the job, M&M tree service was going to grind out the stumps for all the trees. They did grind out the stumps for most of the trees. They missed a few tree stumps though, and have been promising to come out to grind them for the past 10 months. I keep calling, and they keep pushing me off. I am still waiting. I am disappointed that they have not completed this part of the job 10 months later. Our friend had used this M&M last year, he told me how reliable this company was. So this year I called and connect with Miguel Jr. very polite and he asked if he can call me back, and he did, we set appointment on Friday to meet, he showed up on time , after agreeing on the price. I agreed, he right away set up schedule to do palms and trees trimming on the next day which was last Saturday, exactly 830am, his crews showed up with 3 trucks and 1 grind trash truck. Contacted M&M to get a quote to cut down one of our palm trees. Miguel and his dad came to give us a quote and also gave some recommendations regarding the lemon tree that was next to the palm. Both trees were too close to the wall and was slowly pushing the wall out. So we decided to get those trees removed and also wanted to get our large avacodo tree trimmed at the same time. Very professional team. We set up a time and they came to do the work at the time scheduled. These guys work fast! Did an awesome job! And cleaned up after the cutting. This is a real professional tree trimming service and not some random lawn service guy. They had all the correct tools to do the job and the crew all did their part. One guy was the tree expert (climbed the tree to cut it down and also knew how to trim the avocado tree that we asked them to do). Another guy cut down the lemon tree and there were 2 other guys who were putting the cuttings in the tree grinding machine. Also they grinded down the tree stump/roots and leveled everything out. Everything was cleaned up after and my yard looks cleaner than how it was before lol All cuttings were hauled away and no mess left behind! ** highly recommended. ** these guys are legit, professional and have great prices and service. a true find. we had several tall, spindly eucalyptus trees that were definitely in need of maintenance. especially since in the crazy winds we had like a month ago, a big droopy branch on one snapped and came crashing down! no damage done-- but certainly a sign that we better take care of these trees sooner rather than later. so of course did the yelp search. found m&m with their great reviews, and put in a contact request with job details and pics. also hit the button to contact others for bids. everyone who answered (all very promptly) sounded nice in messages. and a handful came out to take a look and give a quote lemme tell you. the first people to come out gave me quotes that were thousand$ and thousand$. enough to make me think, i'ma gonna leave those trees there forget about it! then m&m came out, miguel jr (the other m is miguel senior) was courteous, efficient, friendly. assessed the trees quickly and gave a firm bid on paper that described the work and cost - and beat the others by a tremendous margin. he also emailed all their insurance and license paperwork which was important to me because i was not going to have any unlicensed, unbonded, uninsured company doing work like cutting down trees! we quickly decided to go with m&m, but it did take a while to get on the schedule for the actual job. but that's because these folks are busy-- another sign they are good. when the crew did come it was 6 men, a big truck with a chipper, and a large cherry picker / bucket that reached up about 4 stories or so which we did need for some very tall trees. i watched the guys work, and let me tell you they know what they are doing. roping tree limbs. cutting, carefully chopping, cleaning. we had about 7 thin but tall trees (some with very wide drooping crowns at the top) cut down and it took about 2.5 hours total. during the whole time one guy was in the street making sure anyone or any car going by was safe and clear. and that trucks were not in the way since its a twisty street in the hills. and there were guys putting wood in the chipper as everything was coming down. then they blew away all the debris including leaves that we totally needed cleaned up anyway haha, and left the scene cleaner than when they came. they also cleared off portions of the roof where smaller branches and leaves had fallen and i was glad they did that 'cause i was wondering damn do i have to break out the ladder! nope- i do not. net net- was very happy to find and use m&m. very relieved unsightly icky trees are gone (although i love trees...). it has not only totally opened up our view but also made the place safer. bottom line- if you have tree troubles, call these guys. cause when they're done, you won't have tree troubles! miguel(s) and co will take care of you and you will feel like a smarty, having made a great decision! believe me... It was over 100' tall and had been there for decades, and I hated it because it dropped endless amounts of leaves for months and months. I hired them partly because their estimate beat the other tree companies I contacted. Some were way more expensive than M&M. But I also used them because they made good sense in what they said they could do, particularly in using a very powerful stump removal machine that removed all traces of the stamp. And they were very low pressure in dealing with them. The work was done just a few days after I hired them, it was completed in two days (it was a very large tree), and cleaned up well.
