They restored a book with sentimental value to me. The title is "FUN with a pencil". The spine reads "FAN a pencil". They charged $450. The binding was in bad shape and that was fixed, so that's worth something, but they didn't even offer to fix the misspelled spine, or compensate with a partial rebate. I didn't press for a do over, as they tried make light of the situation, but I could tell they were embarrassed by their sloppy mistake. Stories about working for movies, or in exotic languages didn't take the sting out of the exchange. read more

These artists remade my old beat up King James Bible that I had the gall to glue back together at some point. I need to post before and after pictures. They helped me to custom make the new hard cover for my cherished Bible. It will last longer than the 26 years I've already owned it and make it the next 26 years in much better shape than the last. I've been going to H & H exclusively ever since I found them years ago. After multiple disappointing experiences with other book binders, I found my go-to professionals for book restoration. Their shop is phenomenal and they can pretty much do whatever you need. For my most recent visit, I took my copy of The Great Gatsby's first edition to the shop to get it restored and had them make a clamshell box with design leather binding on the front to match the book itself. Some pages were bent n a few were falling off, along with other issues. I just got my package and the book is now in great condition. As if it was perfectly preserved all these years. If I could give them negative 5 stars I would. I spent over twenty hours personalizing a book and I asked them to foil stamp the cover. They made not one but two mistakes on the cover and the repairs ruined the book. This book was to be auctioned off so it had to be perfect. I had to have another book made and explained to them I was now out of pocket for a second book and they refused to make it right and do the new book at at discount. So basically, they admitted they ruined my book and then told me I was out of luck and too bad. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE and I think the issue with the typos has to do with their English or lack of ... BEWARE they do sloppy work and treat their customers terribly! read more

Binding experts since 1976 Hovik and Hakop, are the BEST. I'm so happy with the service that I received from these two brothers. I had an old huckleberry fin book that was falling apart, the cover was separated from the binding and the pages were loose. They restored it to its original state. Went to two other stores to restore my book and they told me it was going to be difficult. However, they did tell me it might fail and I would lose a lot of value on my book. I completely felt like they weren't capable of doing the job. I then came to H and H book services and without any questions the owner told me it was restorable with no cons. They gave me a detailed description of the job. The great thing is, once they were finished with the job it came out better than I expected. Also, they stated the job was going to take 2-8 weeks, but I got a call just two weeks later saying it was ready. Great customer service and fast with their jobs. Highly recommend ! read more
