Love the customer service got greeted as soon as we came inside. Restroom are super clean and smell…read morelike perfume. The store is clean as well easy to look through and organized and have a lot in stock in each selection. There clearance is amazing as well. Definitely will be bringing my family back as well. Shout out to the cashier for wishing us happy holidays.

Update! Something different has happened. I think they got some new staff, maybe a new floor…read moremanager? Perhaps, but it's also possible that the store is just more put together during the weekdays. Usually the place is a complete mess, but there was a surprising new more organized look. There were also more employees around, which didn't make sense, I feel like there should be more employees during the busy times, like the weekend perhaps. Still true that it always takes a long time to do pricing and stuff like that as their little handheld devices seem to only work properly half the time. I've been here on several occasions, and now writing this review, I'm kind of glad I have it another chance. Anyway, I've only ever seen like 2 employees in the dressing room, which seems like quite the set up for burglary, but it's not my store. If anything I'd recommend the order online and pick it up, but lately they've been offering free shipping to the home address. On this occasion I returned something that didn't fit properly that I bought online, simple and quick! The guy really knew what he was doing. On my way out I got some jewelry I liked, there was one worker at the register, she was having a struggle with a customer, which wasn't her fault, but it was not being handled well. I waited over 10, pushing 15 minutes. I think that was ridiculous. Anyway, still questioning if I want to go back anytime soon. But improvements have been made.

Being that it was established many moons ago (1969) by a man and a woman (husband and wife Donald…read moreFisher Doris F. Fisher) it stands to reason it represents clothing both for men and women. I've long had a bit of a sour feeling about The Gap as it bought out The Banana Republic, turning it from a khaki and world-traveller haven (I got maps, safari hats, and other explorer accoutrements there) to one of many woman-heavy nondescript fashion stores. Well, I can't hold 'em against them here ... rather, if I'll take that up if I ever feel like reviewing the Banana Republic about 50 yards away on the other side of the Traverse Mountain courtyard. I digress. The Gap is hopping. Other clothing stores are -- at the same time -- populated with a sales associate to every customer, The Gap is crowded and energized. So, obviously no review is going to stop 'em. Men, women, children, the whole family can find clothes here. It does, however, trend toward the family-friendly (kids running all over), a large section of kids clothes. As for colors (and keep in mind I came in May) the colors trended toward the light and dynamic colors. The Gap -- as it was in its infancy -- big on jeans. Also big on tees (again, I'm here on the borderline of summer). As for style, think the "fun, fashion, and value" and youthful style of another company The Gap bought out, Old Navy. Are the prices good? Well 40, 50, 75% off so there are pockets of pretty good prices (albeit marked down from insane retail MSRP). Not a lot that fit me, so I can't say it has much value to anyone not amongst the healthy heights or weights. In the end there's a lot for you out there ... just not much for me.

You've come a long way, Chuck Taylor!…read more If you're my age (40s) or older, you remember the iconic canvas-covered and rubber-soled Chuck Taylor high-tops worn on the court from the 1920s (yes, the 1920s) until 1980, when Magic and Larry came on the scene, leather started replacing canvas, and Nike rose to take over the athletic shoe business. But somehow, the Chuck Taylor survived ... as more of a fashion statement. If you don't believe me, there's a whole store-worth of Chuck Taylors and other Converse shoes. The Chuck Taylors definitely don't make a great athletic shoe anymore, especially since many brands have great gel and arch support and specialized drop on the soles. Long story short, they are so cool looking ... the cornucopia of colors and selection of styles are incredible. Art designs, neon, and, my personal fave, the dull muted burgundy and gray colored Chuck Taylors :) There are also many non high-top Converse All-Stars in the back of the store. And, most importantly, they have sizes big enough to fit my giant feet! I hope you enjoy seeing and wearing Converse as much as I do!

Cheap shoes that cost way too much, but they're the current fad so my kids want them. Why do I pay $60 for a shoe that my boy will wear out in two months? I think the problem is me.
