Our preparer this year apologized that the cost per form had gone up a bit, but our total wasn't much more than usual, so we can just go with it. And the cost is always deductible for the following year. We make an appointment on a weekend day each year and make a half-day of it. After our 9am appointment this year, we had breakfast while we waited for the computer entry and filing, picked up our info again, and were home by noon.

When I asked when our taxes would be done and if they weren't then I would be happy to pick them up and take them elsewhere, she left me a nasty msg saying she don't like threats. Pretty good accountant with reasonable rates…read more While I don't particularly love the location- the office is in the funky Grand Mall in Grand Blanc- the important things here with an accountant are competency, trustworthiness and decent rates. I'm pleased (so far) with his services. He's done a good job on our taxes now for two years straight after I found him through a recommendation after I bailed on my longtime CPA in Flushing because they fouled up a tax return. Mr. Kubik managed to undo the damage done by my former CPA, and didn't charge me more for the snafu. While the cost of different tax returns will vary, our taxes cost about $150- not too bad.
