Willie made four simple mistakes on my 2018 taxes. When I called to try and have H&R Block fix this I was met with a series of lies by MANY people in this office. Eventually I reached out to manager Joslyn Harris, who never even bothered to respond to me. The lies I have been told by the people in this office are staggering. They cannot be trusted. Don't make a mistake and go here. They don't back up their work and getting them to take ownership and fix their mistake is next to impossible. Now I have to respond to IRS by April 8 and nobody can be found. I understand there are extenuating circumstances- but this has been going on for one month. It's a complete shame. Tax preparer made an error on the return. As a result, had to pay penalty to state. Had purchased the Block "error insurance" but guess what ... they refused to honor it. Sent me on a wild good chase to two different locations. Let's see ... I think that's called fraud. Should have sued them. Maybe I still will. BTW, if you think H&R Block is cheap you'd be wrong. You can get the same service from a registered CPA tax consultant for about the same price. read more

I came in 7:30 pm without an appointment and was seen immediately. My visit was very welcoming !! I was so pleased and educated me on what I need to know. I'm definitely returning every year to this exact location . David and the manger made me feel right at home . Wasn't even expensive . Customer service surpassed my expectations! I made an appointment on a Tuesday, I needed it first thing in the morning, so they were open for Thursday at 9am. Then, Thursday they call me at 8:30am to let me know they weren't going to be able to take me in, if I'd like to re-schedule for 11am! Wtf! I was already ready! How unprofessional of them! I told the girl to cancel everything. She didn't even care. We schedule appointments because we go to work, or have our responsibilities to take care of. Then my husband calls them again, because we really need our taxes made! And schedules at 7:30pm on the same Thursday. Later on my husband called them at 6:30pm at to confirm that he's coming and they told him there was no appointment for him made at all whatsoever! Wtf I'm really f&$@en pissed. The older woman who's a secretary making the appointments answering the phone is very rude too. read more

Pretty standard stuff, I came in here for a free second look at my taxes. They checked it but didn't find any errors or extra money. I had to wait awhile even though I had an appointment, but it wasn't too bad and they did acknowledge me and apologize for the wait. Location is good and parking is easy. Personally I think they charge way too much to do your taxes, but it's nice that they offer a free second-look. read more

I had a very nice experience with my tax preparer Christine Ito. She was very knowledgeable as well as being funny and sweet. She even hooked me up with the first time customer discount which altogether made it cheaper than doing it online. We had a pretty crappy experience here. The guy who helped us file jointly for the first time (we just got married) didn't seem interested in really helping us get the most out of our tax situation . Our return was so low (we almost owed) that we left and decided to use turbo tax. When we asked questions about why it was so low or why certain numbers changed(not in our favor) he was not clear in explaining why. I found this frustrating. We ended up with a much bigger refund from turbo tax and just felt that the service was impersonal. read more

I have been coming to H&R Block for two years now and so far they have been pretty reliable with no mistakes at all. The only issue I have been having is not a reflection of their customer service but on their service fees. I did pay about $400 to do a Schedule C which is way too much in my opinion. read more

I went in here for a second look at my taxes to see if my regular tax guy was making any mistakes. They were not able to identify any major problems with my previous tax returns, but i definitely appreciated the free review and the advice that I got. I'm not sure that I would go to them again because they charge significantly more than the accountant I normally use, and they didn't really provide anything of value to me. But overall they definitely can get the job done and somebody else's scenario could be totally different than mine. Also, their staff is nice and professional. The location is also convenient and easily accessible, which is a plus. Plenty of parking available. read more

My taxes are relatively simple. I have a w-2 and a 1099, I'm single, my only asset is my car. They advertise $59 for the most basic (single w-2) preparation, and $99 for the next level up complex income preparation (which is where I fall). Now I understand that there are always a few fees that get tacked on and that an advertised $99 can usually look more like $150-$160. After over an hour, my tax "professional" making several trips to the cubicle next door to ask someone how to do something, it was determined that with my write offs and refund, I would basically break even (what a relief!!), and the only thing left to do would be to pay my preparation fee to hr block (~$150 expected). Almost like magic, the final page of what I owed HR Block showed (hold your breath)... $348!!! $99 advertised. $350 grand total. The nice (but incompetent) lady, bless her heart, tried to explain and validate/justify all these extra fees. I could tell she was confused herself as to where all these were coming from. Have you ever had somebody try to sell you something that they themselves would never buy? It was like that... I felt really bad for her. She then got up from the desk to go attempt to call the manager (who was not in the office) at which point I began collecting and packing all of my documents, and heading for the door. Another woman chased me out the door saying "she's got the manager on the phone, she's got the manager on the phone!!!" I turned back to her, smiled, and said no thank you. I know it's not the employee's fault, but I don't tolerate being lied to by anyone. So long and goodbye forever, HR Block. read more

I have my tax prepared at this location, and by Ken Brandon every year. I have to say Ken is a great guy, and I trust that he is always looking out for me. I would highly recommend him, and H&R Block. My only gripe would be do NOT use the automated scheduling system, it does not work! You (like me) will show up thinking you had an appointment, and the secretary will say nope, nothing here for you. read more

The receptionist that works the front desk was very professional. But I'm sorry, the level of incompetency that resides here is intolerable. Some questions and concerns that I had before filing were not answered. Without typing out all the details, the inexcusable part of it was not that the "professionals" here didn't know that answers and solutions to my concerns were that no one even bothered to even use the resources provided by H&R Block to locate answers. So without pressing my dissatisfaction of the service provided, I casually leave only to return 3 days later (nearest H&R to my job). My 2nd visit I just needed some info from my previous years return that, I filed with them, because I decided to file elsewhere and I was told to go to the office that I filed in because they don't have that access. So I called 4 different H&R's to check the validity of what Christine Ahi told me and they ALL confirmed that that was not true. read more
