Was behind on taxes and freaked out when I got scary letters from the State for outrageous taxes owed --I wasn't sure why it was so much. Called here and she assured me I just needed to at least call the Franchise Tax Board and follow up. She gave me extra phone numbers to try just in case for the FTB. There are excuses for why my Offers-In-Compromise never got reviewed: confusion over employee versus self-employed status, two government shutdowns, and the pandemic. Ultimately, I had relied on her assessment of my chances for approval, and that led to a horrible outcome. Who wants to call the IRS 7 times within a 3 month period! Not me, never again!!!! So here's the story. I was due a return from our lovely IRS, a return I was counting on to reinvest into my business. It was delayed and so I called the IRS to ask why I hadn't received my check. After waiting for over an hour, they said....oh we are backed up you should get something in the next two weeks. I waited, nothing. Called back, same drill...waiting one hour than a lame excuse. After the third call I spoke with my accountant, mind you this is three months after tax season. He suggested I try Madison Debt and Tax Relief.
