If you have to go to H&R Block i would strongly suggest going anywhere other than this location. I came here expecting to pay a little more but to have my taxes done quickly and properly, but couldn't have been more disappointed. I was in a rush and needed my taxes done in about a week. After calling to see if this was possible i came out for an appointment. I was told my taxes could be done very quickly for 'no more than $500, and probably not that much'. Two months later -when my taxes were finally completed - they tried to charge $650. Apparently the first person i spoke to quit. She left without notice, two days after we met in her office, leaving my taxes in her filing cabinet and not notifying anyone they needed to be completed. This person has since been rehired. In this time the office decided not to check out her files and (according to an H&R Block employee) a lot of people were left without service in this time. They were only being helped when they called in to find out where there taxes were. After finally getting someone to find my taxes - yes, the office didn't even have knowledge of them - and now having to pay penalties and interest due to their lateness, the bill comes in over the original quote. They offer to 'give me a discount' down to $530 and won't budge off of that. Keep in mind this is after i have been lost in their system for two months, had been given a different quote and now have to pay additional fees and interest. So whatever, i need my taxes and i can put this behind me as a bad decision and can learn that maybe i need to hire an accountant. Seems reasonable. Until i get $1800 of penalties, interest and other fees because my taxes weren't done properly. I had never used H&R Block before, will not use them again. DO NOT recommend. I have had my taxes done for 7 years at H&R Block. Now the IRS letter are starting to roll in stating that my taxes were done wrong. Trying to work with them is a WASTE of TIME. Their "Piece of Mind" Policy is a joke. The won't even call the IRS to investigate the issue. They have thrown the problem back in my lap. I'm sorry but the people they hire to prepare these tax returns say the right things but have no clue what they are doing. read more

Would not recommend! Left local H&R Block due to poor service was recommended this branch and had taxes done 2 years in a row and felt had a decent experience until we received letters stating our taxes were improperly done. Have called corporate office and still no resolution, no follow through. 1 year taxes were filed with all zeros , so of course we didn't owe and didn't think to check to see if it was done properly because we PAID a Professional to prepare them. 2nd year taxes were filled out wrong and received a letter there was a mistake and it needed corrected. Called the office had to go to different location due to it not being tax season. When the tax professional this time reevaluated the tax forms she never caught the mistake the first preparer made because she just redid the math. The first person but wrong amounts in wrong brackets for wrong cities...... We called our local municipality and corrected the issue our self and had the taxes paid in literally less than 5 minutes. The first year is still unresolved and now from 2 years ago. The office manager is unprofessional and lacking tack in trying to resolve the issue. It is pathetic and sad when you are charged for a service you did not receive and are STILL waiting for resolution. BTW, when speaking with the corporarte office which we spoke with both the local and district manager, among others........ the said they would make sure someone got back to us with a resolution from this office and it hasn't happened.
