I rented a car and called and just before starting the travel i called Ed's office to confirm if rental car insurance (Liability, Collision and Roadside) is covered under my primary insurance. Agent named Michael talked to me. He said no, nothing is covered under my current insurance. Since he asked me to hold the phone to check the information, and also did not sound confident, I asked several questions just to make sure he knows what he is saying. I said, my previous insurance company covered so and so, are you sure. He said, no that is not covered. Eventually, I needed to take the car back to airport, wait in the line to cancel my existing rental contract, go for new contract and pay additional ~$325 for insurance + roadside. My family (wife, 2yrs old, 7 yrs old) kept waiting in car for me to finish all procedures. I sasted 4 important hours out of my travel time (you can imagine 2 yr old's situation sitting in car while I am taking care of business). When I came back to home, I just wanted to cancel the policy and go for the one that covers rental car insurance. Now when I called Ed's office the answers are changed. Yes, they do cover rental car insurance. Came apologies. Jason (manager) said Michael is new so he gave wrong answers but "we can not do anything to compensate my loss". Apologies. Simple...! And the best part is.. I don't have any other option than accepting apologies, accepting monitory loss, time loss, accept mental pain to me and my family.
