My wife and I used Orcutt to file our returns for the 2008 year. After sitting down in office…read more(multiple times) to review our histories, paperwork and overall financial situation we paid out $700 for the "service" of having a tax professional fill in the blanks on a computer program. Needless to say, we are not pleased to realize that two state returns were filed incorrectly (at a loss of $700 in real value; $1600 less than what the examiner verbally promised more than once). We received notice of the error 3 months after filing. Every time I called (or received a call), it boiled down to another preparer had the question / I can't help you / can she call you back when she's done with her vacation in 2 weeks / etcetera. Naturally, no one was interested in hearing my displeasure with the drawn-out process, my paying them $700+ to NOT do it right - the FIRST time; instead I kept getting excuses. Next time, I'll save myself the trouble and get TurboTax instead!

Fermann & Company was the worst accountant I've ever had. They did not carry over some capital…read morelosses from the previous year and did not account for the fact that the Commonwealth of KY does not tax interest income on Treasury Savings Bonds. I found this out because I decided on a firm closer to my home and the new accountant found Fermann & Company errors within 5 minutes of looking at their work. The errors they made amounted to $2962.00 in overpayment on state and federal taxes for that one year. I had to refile that year's return paying the new account for that work. I sent a letter after I received my refund to Fermann & Company telling them of the mistake and asking for a refund of their fee for that year. Fermann & Company ignored my letter. This was most upsetting because if I made a mistake in my profession costing someone money, I would do everything to make it right.

They gave excuses , and filed for extension last year and despite having my taxes to them by Feb 28 had 2 excuses and kept insisting Infid not provide what they needed to proceed. After multi pal request to speak to David, whom is very nice and compitant, never received a phone call from him. Don't think he ever got the messages or system is so broken there right now I have lost all confidence in returning. Sorry I have to leave but NOT getting service I am paying for .
