Then when you call him in on it he yells and threatens. Case in point, I just got charged $600 for two phone calls! My attorney, who is quite pricey, doesn't even charge that much. My bill with John YTD is almost $5,000 dollars just for filing my taxes. When we told John we got a letter from the IRS that he was off by $14,000 (!!!!) in the IRS s favor on our returns he told us to just ignore it. My wife had to handle the issue because John couldn t be bothered. We asked John to give us an estimate before providing services and he refused. Then he hires his daughter and she gets put in charge of my account. What are her qualifications? What is her experience? We get told not to ask. The first thing she does is completely reconfigure my chart of accounts. With no notice and no explanation. It was fine for last year and fine for John for the first 11 months of this year. Now suddenly it has to be completely revamped for no reason. And I get billed for it. John was asked to provide notice and reasons for services, not to just do something and charge us for it. John's response was he does what he wants and anyone who doesn't like it can leave. When John was told this was unprofessional he just exploded and hung up the phone. This guy is predatory. Lots of others with similar experiences. Stay away! ****Just an update on John P Cataldo. After publicizing Mr. Cataldo's unethical and unprofessional behavior, he has resorted to sending me harassing emails, calling me names and even making veiled threats of physical violence against me and members of my family. And I quote: "I will be dealing with you.". I have reported him to the police. In this day and age you just can't be too careful when someone starts making threats!!

I ended up choosing them only because they have worked with the franchisor before, but after a few months i just wasn't happy with the service..At that point I was just kind of stuck with them because it would have been more of a pain to switch companies and review and educated a new company. I was on the west coast and core was on the east coast. 1)The time difference made it extremely difficult to do business. Their rep would typically call in the middle of our rush which was annoying. 2) I was charged for all the fedex packages ( even though during the sales pitch I said I wouldnt be.. I even made a note that I was credited 1 fedex shiping charge per month) 3) It was basic data entry they were doing for me.. I was charged on average $500 a month plus shipping charges.. so almost $600 a month for their services. 4) Since I was charged for shipping, I limited it to once a month which meant they were always a month behind and even sometimes 2 months behind on inputting my information. ( this made it painful when I had to pay quarterly sales tax) 5) My assigned person kept locking herself out of my banking and reports website... so literally I had to call every single month to unlock my online banking for her.-- that was annoying. She even locked herself out 2 times in one week! Even thought I knew 3 months into this, that it was going to be a painful relationship.. i was far too busy running a restaurant to start over so I was just kinda stuck. I did get a chance to interview other companies, and most that were near me were willing to pick up my financials without any charge and also came up cheaper.. So in hindsight.. I would recommend that you find a company close to you and spend the time with them upfront so you aren't "stuck" in a similar situation as myself.
