Firstly I was recommended to the Asian lad ( who has 25 years experience of working on tax returns ) however she had no idea how to go about working on a simple schedule C. then another accountant took over the simple return. They are misleading about the prices; advertise $69 and then charge $200+ after they take your paperwork. They are rude, and not accommodating. During the Covid 19 precautions they will not bring your paperwork to sign, even after the work is done, if the tax "professional" who did your forms isn't there. Go elsewhere. read more

H&R Block Summer Stree Office is a nightmare! They prepared my 2022 income tax returns in early Aprill 2023. I never received my state refund and called to find out that my rep at H&R Block had put incorrect direct deposit information in my file so my refund went to someone else and was never received by me. I have spent hours and months trying to work with H&R Block to get the refund I am due with no sense of urgency or care from them. I have to follow up every two weeks or I hear from no one. I have talked to numerous people, including managers, customer service and tax accountants and they all tell me they feel terrible and will work to help me. Here we are 7 months later and I still have not gotten my tax refund from 2022 and I am always the one to have to follow up with them. Now they want me to complete more and more forms - I don't have time for this. It is their huge mistake and they should make good on it. The amount of my refund is nothing for an organization of this size - as far as I am concerned they should pay me the refund I am due and deal with the State of CT themselves! I cannot tell you how frustrating this is and I almost want to let it go, but it is the point and they cannot do this to people. Their customer service is AWFUL. And to top it off, some of the people I have spoken with a extremely rude. Do NOT use H&R Block (I could name people as well) for your tax returns. This was not the first issue I had with them, but wanted to give them another try - do not do it. Don't want to give them even one star, but I could not post the review without doing so. I'm not sure why there are so many terrible reviews for this location. I made an appointment this year for a Saturday at 9:00am. We arrived, the door was unlocked, and we were immediately greeted and shown to the accountant (Gil) who helped us prepare our taxes. Not only was Gil efficient and helpful, he took the time to really review us and our situation and find us some deductions we didn't even realize we qualified for. Overall I highly recommend this location and look forward to working with them again. read more

Made an appointment. Person I made appointment with wasn't there. Office was locked. Had to call the office to be let in to meet with someone who I had not made the appointment with... who also did not know how to use her computer and was setting up her email instead of helping me with my tax problem. In the 40 min I wasted there I spent 10 min talking about taxes and received conflicting advice. What a waste of time read more

These people screwed up my taxes so badly I have to re-file. I got a nasty letter from the Department of Revenue Services demanding to know why my W2 info, federal ID #, and various other basic information was missing from my return. read more
