I've used the services at this H&R Block location for two years. While I believe my tax returns were processed accurately, the customer service has been consistently disappointing -- enough so that I will not return. In 2023, I worked with Georgia Workman at the Woodland location. She completed the return quickly and called me when it was ready. However, when I arrived to pick it up, I was informed I needed my husband's signature for electronic filing -- something Georgia never communicated. She could have sent the form electronically but didn't. There was no apology for the oversight. I had to drive 20 minutes home and back again just to complete the process. After paying for the return, I received a call informing me that the fees had been miscalculated and I needed to provide my credit card over the phone. Again, no apology. I didn't feel comfortable paying that way. I refused to make the additional trip out, due to their error. Despite this, I gave them another chance in 2024. I dropped off my documents with Georgia again and, two weeks later, hadn't heard anything. Only after I emailed her did she call to say the return was ready. This time, I was able to pay and file electronically, which was an improvement. However, I had requested -- and was promised -- a breakdown showing what I owed versus what my husband owed (something she had done the previous year). I emailed multiple times requesting it and received no response. Eventually, I went into the office. They couldn't locate my file. I asked to speak with the supervisor, Emma Rivera, and was told she was on a call. While waiting, I emailed her and forwarded my prior messages with Georgia. After her call, Emma came out and acknowledged that she'd received and read my email. She found my file quickly -- it had been overlooked by the previous staff member. When I asked about Georgia's lack of response, Emma simply shrugged and said, "I'm not sure why she didn't respond to you." Again, no apology. Overall, the customer service at this location is poor and unprofessional. The staff show little regard for your time or your concerns -- which doesn't inspire confidence in how they handle your taxes. Take some pride in your work and how you treat clients. I won't be returning. I might have to pay more, but it's worth it to be treated with some decency. read more

Needed 3 tax returns done after my mom wasn't doing them right on turbo tax. I happened to be in my hometown of woodland and that's exactly what I got here... was hometown service. It literally felt like I was at home and comfortable the whole time. In a few hours time, Alejandra was able to complete all 3 tax returns and even made follow up calls to Covered Ca and the IRS every time we hit a snag and got everything expedited without waiting for ever. I normally do my own taxes but 2022 was a out of the ordinary year so I opted to get them done with H& R block. The tax person did not introduce herself, she just started asking me questions, she had to ask others about particular situations, she did not ask a lot of questions that I know would have been asked on the worksheets. I called them 2 days later because I did not have any notification about whether my return was accepted, so they checked and home to find out it was rejected due to an error by tax person. No one had called me to let me know. Also she printed out a voucher for me to mail in a check to IRS- without even asking if I needed to make payments. She wasn't rude- just not a personable person. I know I would not have my taxes done again with this person. Most likely I'll have to revise my taxes on my own. read more
