I spoke with Sarb, and he was very helpful. He told me they still had availability for our event, which was a relief. What impressed me the most was that they offered us time to set up before the event started. When we arrived, the place was clean and ready, making it easy to get everything organized. Since we were working with kids, we didn't use the throwing axe area, but we did enjoy some exciting laser tag. you could bring your own water and cake or cupcakes, but you needed to buy your food from them. They used Mountain Mike's pizza for food orders, which was located off Robinhood. There was a bit of confusion among the workers because some understood the rules differently than others. However, I decided to stay patient and ask questions until I got clear answers. After discussing it, everything worked out well for me. My food arrived exactly on time, just like I had requested. The laser tag room was amazing! It had two stories and was really well put together. Honestly, I can't explain how fun it was--you just have to see it for yourself! The kids had a blast playing there, and believe me, it's definitely a workout! They got to play four different games, so there was always something new to try. When you first arrive, you need to sign some waivers and set up your account. They take a picture of you, which goes up on a big screen at the end of your game, showing your score. Everyone was excited to see who had the most points! The atmosphere was lively, and everyone was laughing and cheering. It was a great way to spend the day, and I can't wait to go back again. It's fun when all my favorite things are within walking distance of each other. Small but mighty, the game selection varies from a handful of pinball machines, to pool and skee-ball, with several of my favorite classics sprinkled in, such as Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, and Donkey Kong. They had some of Dave's faves as well, NBA Jam and Street Fighter II. Most classic games cost a quarter, pinball costs a dollar, so standard prices, nothing too expensive for what it is imo. There's a change machine next to the small seating area toward the front door. When we came through last weekend after eating at Thai Kitchen next door, it was medium crowded close to 7 at night. Folks were coming from Lodi Comic Con, so I don't have a grasp on when it's busy here vs not. Anyhow, a crowd meant waiting awhile for drinks as there was just one bartender doing her best. I think they should have at least two for a weekend evening, but that's just me. Not the one bartender's fault regardless. They have a list of specialty cocktails to choose from, but I went with my usual. We had a good time with what change we had on us. I love pinball but I'm pretty bad at it so that dollar doesn't go very far. They had the Godzilla machine, and that's a favorite of mine. I only ran into one game that wasn't working, but it gave me my quarter back so that's a win win. Overall solid date night spot, and I know we will be back soon. But im not gonna lie, the condition of the store itself has been really disappointing. The outside of the building looks rough and not very inviting. The sign makes it seem like there's a lot of party supplies, but when you go inside, it's actually very limited and feels outdated. Inside isn't much better. The floors are pretty bad- tiles are coming up and it just doesn't feel clean. The walls being repainted is nice and definitely an improvement, but it doesn't fix everything else. my biggest issue is the inventory. the balloons themselves are still good quality, but a lot of whats in the store feels outdated, Qualatex isnt even in business anymore, and that's still a big part of what they carry. There are so many other good brands out now, but they're barely stocked here.I've asked multiple times about certain sempertex colors, and they don't even carry full color lines or all the sizes. Like how do you have one size but not the others in the same color?? That doesn't even make sense when you're trying to put something together. Also, it really feels like the store hasn't been updated in years. There are items that have been sitting there forever and not selling. It honestly feels like old stock that never gets refreshed. I 've brought this up to staff before and they're also so so nice, but I know they're not the ones in charge of ordering or marking changes. The large mylar balloons are fixed on the wall, and for the latex balloons, you can choose how many you want (the price for the # of balloons you want is on the counter). The price of the balloons is on the pricier side, but it is to be expected for a specialty store. The balloon quality is great. The staff is overall friendly and helpful, and when it came down to my indecision about what color balloons to get, they stepped in and helped me out. My first balloon bouquet consisted of 2 numbers, 3 latex, and 1 small mylar for $54.28. They lasted for 3 weeks. This second balloon bouquet consisted of 6 mylar balloons and 1 large mylar balloon $40.22. They are still holding strong a week later. I like this place and I will be coming back when in need of more balloons.
