The establishment is nice and the escape room we did--the morgue had so many intricate details. The puzzles were detailed and fun to solve. The room was a little spooky but that added to the fun. If memory serves, we paid $35/per person for the Sherlock Holmes escape room. The staff was friendly, informative, and made sure we knew what to expect. The facility was clean and very well themed. We did the Wizarding room with 2 people and it was still fun but man it was so much harder with just 2 people. We were super close to being at the end and the final puzzle ended up besting us. We still had a great time, it was just a bit of a bummer that we couldn't finish and some of the puzzles were less intuitive to us even though we've done a few puzzle rooms like this in the past. The space has a nice atmosphere and good for hangouts next door. Flat bread was good but the Chipotle wrap I got doesn't taste good at all. Quite a bit of beer selection if you are into beer, which im not. I got one of their cocktails and it was a little sweet for me. I would skip the cocktails and margaritas. Tried a friends margarita and it tasted nothing like it. Way too sweet and was a slushie. In addition to escape games, they have axe throwing and other games also. read more

FYI, the Wizard School is not physically possible with just two people. My bf and I thought it was good idea to switch rooms for the sake of us being able to do a room ourselves. However, it was not communicated to us how difficult it is for just two people to do this room. I appreciate the flexibility of the staff of switching rooms for us. I just wish it had been made aware of how difficult it would be to do this room with just two people as one of the staff did let us know at the end of our session ‍‍‍ read more

These escape rooms are so great! If you don't want to be paired with another group go Monday through Thursday and you will be in your room by yourselves! My sister and I decided to bring our party of 6 here for my nieces birthday and it was a great activity that none of them have done before ( I have done about 4 escape rooms before with just adults so doing it with 3 kids was exciting to see them under pressure and excited to find new clues. Colby was the attendant of the day and great helping us pick a room giving us all the information we need. Tip: solve the puzzle on the brochure for $10 off Also check-in to Yelp for 5 extra minutes Room: Bank Heist Did we make it out?! NO (lol) but if we had a little bit more time we might have. Recommend: come with a good size group so you will have the room to yourself (recommend to come on weekdays as weekends they often are busy and mix parties) Room time limit is 60 minutes Up to 10 people for a room The room seemed simple as it was bare and simplistic but you had to work for the clues...try to work your way from room to room, completing all the clues before jumping ahead (we wasted valuable time this way...but it made it exciting and fun) There were 3 rooms within our room You are allowed 5 clues (and given a walkie talkie to ask as well as given a hand sign to show the camera if needed) They will also type in hints (on the TV screen) if time is running out or you have been on something for too long There were word puzzles, number puzzles, keys, mirrors, magnets, flashlights, chains, emails, pin pads and such kind of clues, so it stayed different interesting throughout. At the end of our room Colby walked us thru the next steps and clues we would have found to escape (without actually telling us how they worked or killing the suspense) and let us take photos around the room. Colby also offered us additional rooms at a discount of 20% off if we wanted to do more...time wasn't on our side but had it have been earlier we surely would have. I can't wait to come back and do the Wizard room, we love Harry Potter and I know being in the elements will be so cool. Minus one point because it is kind of pricey! This place was so much fun! Came in with a friend to do "The Morgue" room and it was so fun trying to figure out all the clues within each room. For this specific room we did, there were 3 rooms to get through. Unfortunately, we did not complete it. We only got to the 3rd room so we almost had it! The workers were all really nice and explained what to expect very well. People are always saying "there is nothing to do in Stockton" but this is the perfect thing to do! Once we finished we went over to the Axe place to get some drinks since the places are connected. Would definitely come back to complete the other rooms. read more

The guy working last night really set it all up well and made everything worth it and the game was very challenging (we did wizarding school) but our group escaped with less than 2 minutes to spare. I'm glad that there's an escape room here in Stockton! I finally came and tried out a room over the weekend with my family. Although I think the price is pretty expensive per person (I think it was like $32) for the hour, the actual room was fun and challenging! We did the Sherlock Holmes one and it was difficult but not too difficult. We made it out with a few seconds to spare! Our game master seemed new or maybe nervous because she barely went through all the rules and what not. From doing other escape rooms, the game master usually fits the par of the room and gets into character. I'd definitely come again and try out the other rooms!! read more

This is a pretty good escape room place as it kept us interested, intrigued and was challenging! The escape room itself was a little worn out -- expected to some degree as everyone is constantly touching it, but it could use some updates more often. Overall, the puzzle was really fun and interesting. We attended a pirate themed puzzle and I highly suggest this theme! This was not a puzzle for kids under the age of about 14, it was challenging even for adults. Some of the puzzle parts were too "touchy" and if the dial or anything was not exactly on the area, the are would not unlock. I think this should be fixed as it was a little frustrating and would bring us to think we were on the wrong path, which would make us backtrack for no reason and waste time. Asking for a clue was also a little slower than other escape rooms I've been to, so maybe a little more organization and service would help. This was a more expensive escape room, but it was definitely fun, and I would try it again. read more

The girl at the front desk was great so this is not for her at all. We did 2 rooms back to back for our friends bday and both rooms had issues. The first one had a door already open when we started that shouldn't have been. The second one had multiple issues with the magnets which really deflated the whole group. It forced us to keep spending time on clues we already had right, but doubted ourselves or they just plain didn't work. The sound to finish the game also didn't work which we were told has been a problem for awhile and the owner has known this but hasn't fixed it. We were also given the ending in the middle of the game. Overall, I felt the number of people per game was too much and there were too many issues that really should be fixed if people are going to enjoy the game. read more

This is a review on the Monster Squad room and what can be improved for a better experience to future patrons. I think the owners need to stop being so cheap and hire more staff so the GMs aren't spread too thin. When we needed help, we wouldn't get help until a couple minutes later, leading us to lose out on hella time. When we finally DO get help, the GM has to ask what puzzle we are on because she clearly has no idea where we are at in the game. Each room should have one game master so they doesn't have to juggle between greeting customers/running back to hosting games and losing track on where the players are at. -1 Star There are HELLA padlocks in the game and none of them were fun or engaging to do. Approximately 10 number/word locks and 3 locks that needed keys. Puzzles are non linear and didn't really flow with the game. For a company that has multiple locations and making millions a year I expected more from their games. -1 Star One puzzle was broken/finicky where you needed to use a light but it wasn't responsive and the GM told us to smack it a bit. And even then it wasn't really working. We ended up spending a good 10 minutes opening and closing it and smacking it around to get it to talk. LOL whut? -1 Star If you are an enthusiast and actually enjoy a solid story line then I'd avoid this room. The other Limitless games are a LITTLE better but still mediocre and none of them have a story line to it besides a themed room with a bunch of pad locks thrown in it. Ambience was decent but the room was COLD AF lol. Felt like it was set to 50 degrees and blowing hard. Stepping into the room felt like walking into the dairy section at Costco except you gotta stand in there for an hour and being frustrated at all the padlocks around the room that had clues that either didn't make sense or didn't work correctly. TL/DR: One GM running multiple games = Poor experience. Too many padlocks/word locks Lack of story line/puzzles weren't engaging. Finicky prop that was crucial to opening another padlock. read more

This place has me hooked. I've already done most of the games and won most of them in time besides two which was Dimond of Destiny and The Morgue. The staff has been a lot quieter lately but I still enjoy the fun in getting to enjoy time with friends. It really brings everyone closer. I loved all the props and the stories. I wish they came out with a new one every so often. They would make a lot more money. In fact, the other day, my boyfriend and went out to the one in San Jose and traveled out there just to find out a 7 year old was also joining. With not one word from me, the front desk insisted on them booking another day because the policy was that on a weekend day for 10 years and younger needs to book the whole room. We got to the front desk, and no one was there. We pressed the button and the woman came out to help us but told us there were no more rooms available. We walked outside, went online and booked a room 30 minutes out. When we came back inside for our booking, the same woman came out surprised and with attitude. She was unhelpful and unkind. We did not feel comfortable going in after the experience and we asked for a refund. We had a bad experience tonight at both the Axes and Ales and Escape Room. Sheesh. read more

On the website it says that you have to get a private room if you have children under 10. Believing that they enforce this rule THEY put in place I brought my older children. We ended up in a room with a small child and my kids were miserable because they are polite and didn't want to ruin it for the young child. This child ended up snatching things from my kids hands and the adults with her were also rude and took over, guess that's where their child gets it from. My kids ended up sitting in the corner and stopped participating, all they offered me was store credit, why would I ever go back if they don't enforce their own rules? When I pointed this out the woman told me I could pay for a private room, um what? So I have to pay more because they won't enforce their own rules, sounds like a grift to me. I would not have spent my money on this place if I would have known there was even a small chance of something like this happening. I will never go back, store credit be damned. Edit due to Business Owners response: STILL 1 star, I will NOT be reaching out because the response tells me he didn't even read the above! My problem is with the business NOT following their own policies. Wanting to "look into the mother" is ridiculous because if they followed their own policies, this would have NEVER happened. Plus the offer of store credit verses a refund, on top of telling me to pay more for a private room is a joke but he didn't address that, only looking into the other customer. There are shitty people in the world and I can accept that, what I don't accept is manipulative business practices. Side note, when did I say it was a he or that the adults were a woman/mother. I DIDN'T!!! Further proof the business owner did not read or comprehend what I posted. read more

The staff is friendly and helpful. The game was interesting and challenging. The room was ok, but I was hoping for more interaction and movement into several rooms. I can't imagine doing this more than once or twice with the price of admission so high. We did this as a family and the kids enjoyed finding the clues. We've been here three times, so we definitely recommend. Every time we had great service, staff is always courteous and helpful. The rooms are always clean and organized, I'm sure they get their wear and tear but you wouldn't notice. The games are fun to do, my family loves coming here. We've done the wizardly world, the pirate one and just recently the Bank Heist. You get a whole hour to complete the game and believe me you'll need it lol...the puzzles are sometimes challenging but fun to complete. Plus you can ask for help if you're really lost which is cool. We still have one more room to do so we will def be back, a def recommendation. With Covid they are very mindful of cleanliness so that's much appreciated. read more

Will say, I wish there was a bit more guidance in the story of what direction to go in once the timer starts, it's nice to have a debrief of the story , but I almost feel like a deer in the headlights every time the timer starts because the information is so vague lol read more

1 hr later still didn't solve the murder mystery. We were on the last clue when the time run out. Most of clues were solved last 30 minutes. Highly recommend it for a group game. Will be back to try other games and maybe come back to finish this one. read more

Brought my nephew and some of his friends to try this out for the first time. I've been several times and have always had a blast. There website didnt mention that there would be a limit of 3 clues and neither did our game keeper. So of course we ask for the clues in the very beginning because it's always been limitless. Apparantly it's in the video so pay close attention. The game keeper tells me they had to limit it because she was there by herself. I understand COVID sucks and maybe they are short staffs but maybe dont have that many rooms open at once if you have to limit the clues. I paid $188.00 and I was so pissed off I I'll not be coming back. If your looking for a fun experience dont come during COVID. read more
