I was told that i was the only one with this problem for Easter weekend but i know there are more who have had this problem with the crawfish sacks at HEB. I went and bought a 35 pounds sack. I had it transported the correct way in a big cooler with ice in order to keep them cool. When i got home. I opened up the bag and started to clean and purge my crawfish. I discovered the bag had 1 out of every 3 crawfish was dead. Some of them had been dead for a while. The overall ratio was so bad i had to call the store. I talked to a supervisor which was not to thrilled about what I was telling him. He finally told me to bring them all back which I did. Now I live in Baytown and the reason why I went to this particular HEB in League City was the one near me had sold out of crawfish. When I went in to return them the seafood manager referred me as that "guy". You could tell she was annoyed with me bring the bag back.It was like she did not believe me of the bad quality of crawfish they had gave me . I was given the choice to pick another bag which i did..... You could tell she was being petty about it all.. Not even an apology was given... I will never buy crawfish from HEB again. I normally do not write reviews for grocery stores, because let's face it, unless you have a farm and personal butcher, we all need to go the grocery store. But after my trip to H E B, I was so impressed I had to write about it! This store is amazing, no really, it's amazing, haha. Everything you need is here. The bakery display is drool worthy, they make homemade flour tortillas on the spot, and just have a wide variety of items. Fresh veggies, nice cuts of meats, great selection of beer & wine. (because all you really need in life is freshly made tortillas, meat, veggies, booze & cake haha) I dislike grocery shopping, just want to get in and out but at H E B I wondered around. This store is huge and clean too! This shopping trip was as fun as grocery shopping could be, I'm sure when I am back in the area I'll be stopping by again. read more

So I just "had" to shop at the new HEB shortly after it opened to see what all the hype was about. Aside from the sandwich deli that they have, this store really isn't much different than my old standby on the Dickinson/League City border in Bay Colony. In fact, I prefer that store over this one due to this one being poorly laid out and extremely crowded!! My organic strawberries that I bought had apparently come close to being frozen at some point, as they were mushy within days. So suffice it to say, I won't be returning here ... it just didn't do anything for me! read more

My personal favorite HEB location. Not as crowded as the Gulf Fwy location. Pretty fast usually for lines overall. Delivery service to my house has been great with some minor hiccups of getting an incorrect item but was resolved. HEB Salsa Ranchera is the real deal!!! read more

Edit: I came here during normal dinner hours and bought some sushi. When I got home to eat it it was disgusting. Clearly old and unappetizing. It was eight dollars for a simple roll so I actually retuned it! I felt mislead because during the day the samples are fresh and delicious. This was absolutely not the case with the roll I brought home. Dissapointed in the quality. I understand it may be hard to keep sushi fresh after hours but if that's the case then it shouldn't be sold. Previous: this heb is so nice! New and huge and clean. Anything you could want and a bunch of stuff you didn't even know you wanted til you got gere! The staff is very nice. From the guys handing out samples to the cart boy who helped me unload my cart and I didn't even ask him to. Very nice store with very nice people. read more

The HEB Store is ok, however the pharmacists are meddlesome and will override the decisions of your doctor. I recently had back surgery and received a prescription for a pain killer. After several days, the doctor decided to change my medication and gave me a new prescription. The pharmacist, clearly knowing more than my doctor, refused to fill my prescription for the different pain medication saying that I already had 1 pain medication and wouldn't give me the new one; even though my prescription was from the same Doctor. I ended up getting my prescription filled at Walgreens. The only thing that I can say is that I honestly hope that one day the pharmacist one day gives birth and her doctor insists that it be done naturally. read more

HEB make millions of dollars, Why in the world would you have to come in from outside that is a 100 degrees only to shop in another 80 degrees! Seriously guys cool the dang store down. Been shopping here a while. Great store. Usually have everything I need at a reasonable price. I took two stars from them for the extremely poor customer service. It drives me crazy when the register manager starts yelling at everyone about which line they need to move to. Ya know what? I can pick my own check out lane. I love this HEB! It's my favorite store. There's always super fresh produce. Sometimes they have odd fruits like jackfruit and rambutan (the latter being one of my favorite fruits ever ) I buy everything here: Food, makeup, everything. Sometimes I like coming here just to browse, it's super clean and even on busy days you're not waiting in line to checkout for long. HEB has really stepped up the grocery store game. Also, mootopia (the best milk ever ! Lactose free and soooo good). The international section has cool/weird candies too. The seafood here is ever-changing. They have such a variety of crab, lobster, different fish, clams and oysters. The staff here is so friendly. I've even come in here for the rediclinic. The pharmacy is awesome and I get all my prescriptions here, the pharmacists are great and always explain new prescriptions in-depth. read more

First visit today was a good one. Typical 'Grand Opening' over staffing and managers everywhere. My advise to HEB is to maintain the effort and you will beat the competition across the street. If you never get to visit another HEB again, you'll want this to be your last one...or if you only get to visit one HEB in your life, this one's the one! It's pretty spectacular is the HEB of all HEBs. Okay, too much hype? Maybe. This location has a cafe, fresh squeezed juices, a floral section, a whole section dedicated to like, decoratig stuff, I guess. It's between the floral section and the bakery and I just don't really know what they call it . But speaking of bakery, they have that...along with a nice display case of goodies. The also have TWO HEB Buddy machines - you know, so your littles can use their Buddy Bucks to get stickers they just end up throwing away anyway? Yea, those. Anyway, staff always friendly, service is pretty good. Great prices, usually. Awesome HEB coupons and deals. There's not much to not like about this HEB. oh, and of cour se there's a pharmacy and a garden section out front. You're probably thinking - "Hmmmmm there's gotta be SOMETHING not so perfect there..." well, there is. Their bathroom look new and hip, but is just a tad on the dirty/messy side. To be fair, of all the times I've shopped here, today was the first time I used thw bathroom, so it could have been a fluke that it wasn't awesomely clean, but it wasn't overly dirty, either. The deli is great the layout is easy and a wide alcoholic beverage selection even non-alcoholic beers and stout beers and very many wines. Being a new Texan I wasn't sure what to expect from HEB. Well, I'm not disappointed. High quality, fresh and clean. Large produce section with great pre-made salads, pre-cut fruits and veggies, fresh veggies and fruits also they have a decent organic section. Meat counter is on point, fresh cut meats and fresh fish counter. Bakery is much better then other grocers local to the area, more bread choices and cakes. Cheese counter is on par with the bakery, much better selection then the other local stores. Dry goods, refrigerated area, frozen food all tops too. They've got cleaning and laundry, pet food and hygiene needs. Top grocery store in the area, and wonderful customer service. My favorite store! read more

This is by far one of my favorite HEB stores in my area. It's always clean, the selections are great (especially the wine selections), products are usually in stock, and the check out is fairly smooth. So far my trip has consisted of waiting at the bakery counter while three people that worked there carried on a conversation. I know that two out of the three saw me but continued to talk without offering to help me. I stood there long enough to be caught up in what they were talking about before asking if this was self-serve. Of course, it wasn't! I also came for Dr. Pepper...they are completely out! I used to shop at Kroger across the street because I had no other choice after getting spoiled food with mold on it twice! I started using heb once they opened I love it !There costumer service is awesome bakery wise not so awesome I would not order a cake from them ever again but shopping wise I love it heb brands are very good with 5 kids you try to save money I tried Walmart great value and kroger brand the kids hated it with heb brand they don't even question the items.I went at 9 at night in pouring rain and I was surprised getting out of my car there was a young man with a umbrella standing there waiting to walk me in I'm a customer for life and I save more money here than kroger or Walmart because of heb app coupons read more

I like the produce department and the meat department but overall H-E-B is more expensive than Kroger. I also don't understand the point of H-E-B's digital coupons if the same coupons are already taped all over the store. I tried to only "clip" the digital ones today and not rip off the little paper coupons and when I got to the check out my most recent ones didn't work and the employee told me there is a six minute delay from the time you select the coupon on the app to when you can use it. I ended up having to go back across the store to rip off a paper coupon for my item and when I returned the employees had already pushed my basket up to customer service and moved on. Fine, if not for the fact that I then had to wait my turn at customer service. What a hassle, I will stick with Kroger and their more efficient digital coupons. read more

The little extras such as the amazing bakery and sushi station make my decision to shop here even easier. Love central market, hate the long drive...finally have a taste of it with this new store!! No matter what I need it always takes me an hour to get through this massive place. I end up spending roughly $40 more per trip over Kroger, but am way more happy with the HEB brand food and in store items like bakery, deli, and florist. My main issue is this: The last few times I've shopped I've noticed employees "hanging out" down the aisles. They seem to have tasks, but the conversations are not really appropriate to have in front of customers. I feel strange shopping as they talk about their weekend plans. Two trips ago a manager and an employee were having what seemed to be a heated argument about another employee's conduct right in front of the deli/ fresh bread, I was choosing bread and they stood there for at least 5 minutes, I actually had to squeeze past them and they still didn't stop. It seems like more training is in order and conversations like that should be held off the store floor. Overall, I love this store but the customer service in the deli, bakery, and meat area are lacking. Smiles and prompt service go along way. Checkout staff and the lady in the makeup section are awesome! Can't wait to give this place a perfect 5 stars!! read more

Love the store, a few issues at this location. First they always put to much stuff on the floor at the North entrance. Makes it hard to get into the store at times with other shoppers stopped blocking narrow path ways around displays on the floor. Second, at check out they sometimes scan items fast and miss handle my items or pile up my stuff. Smashing or denting items and cans. They must be rated on check out speed. Poor baggers can't always keep up. Don't get me wrong I love HEB and shop there over Kroger's just wished they could resolve my two issues. The rest of the store is great. I got shafted here the weekend of July 4. We came for a couple things shortly before close. No hellos or can I help you. Just employees walking with theirs heads down avoiding eye contact. Before I picked an apple I was berated over the PA system to hurry or they won't check me out. They did this 3 times btw. I was the only one in the store. with 25 employees working away, you'd think a supervisor would make a face to face greeting to make sure we had what we needed. That way we can all leave. I did a relay race thru the isles with people avoiding me like the plague. We used to shop here all the time. I posted this complaint earlier but it was removed. HEB had it removed because they said it was the wrong location. I'll repost again to make sure. read more

So let me start by saying that up until now I have loved shopping at H-E-B and truly enjoy the cooking connection recipes. BUT for the last week or so this store has been doing a Houston food bank fund raiser, ( I am fully with supporting the food bank ) my problem lies with this manager ( I think that's her title ) who has been walking around blowing this LOUD whistle. I complained to the customer service desk the 1st time and then again today.( I'm sorry but if I had been the mom with the sleeping baby who was woken up by this annoying whistle being blown well let's just say it would have ended differently) today the customer service desk person thought it was funny that I had a problem with the whistle blowing. If I wanted to hear whistles being blown I'd be at a ball game NOT the grocery store. I refuse to go back to this store simply because I feel that my concerns were not even considered. Plus Kroger is cheaper, still supports the food bank AND I don't have whistles being blown at me while I shop. read more

I only do Yelp reviews when I am super happy or angry with a business. I did a curbside pickup here yesterday evening. When I got home (which is about 15 minutes away), HEB called and said they left out about 8 of my items. I reviewed my receipt and my grocery bags and they had accidentally left out even more than that! I was fairly annoyed because there are other grocery stores closer to my house, but the curbside pickup saves me time when I have a long grocery list. After speaking to the manager, she DROVE to my house to deliver the groceries they accidentally left out and gave me a gift card for the inconvenience. Talk about wonderful service! read more

This is in reference to their curbside pickup, which I utilize frequently. I am typically very happy with both HEB and their curbside service! I always put detailed notes on my order, as necessary. Today I received some produce (carrots and bell peppers) that was visibly rotten. My carrots were brown and mushy and so were the bell peppers. I started off at the customer service counter, where the lady proceeded to ring up a single item for an employee who got to the counter AFTER I did. After that, I told her about my produce and asked if I could just swap out the rotten items, but she wanted to walk me down to the curbside station. Everyone in there seemed confused as to why I was even there in the first place. The customer service lady told them I had some bad produce and they still didn't even know what to do and asked if I wanted a refund. No, I just want fresh produce people! They all just kind of looked at each other. Finally I said "Can I please just go swap it out?" I brought it back to the curbside station and they bagged it up and finally at least apologized... It was all just a very bizarre experience! read more

I think the reviewers who say this H-E-B is "just another grocery store" are just a tad spoiled. I prefer this store to the Dickinson H-E-B because it's easy to get in and out by car, compared to fighting access road traffic that doesn't stop for you. The layout inside is a bit better than the Dickinson store because it has a middle aisle, although the entry to get in is a bit jumbled and confusing and seems to funnel people right into the girl hawking their regrettable "San Antonio sushi roll". On the bright side, they often put really good deals right in the front of the store - sweet potatoes for 0.20/lb during the holidays, and pomegranates for only 1.00 each. I was surprised that this is the only grocer I could find that actually carries Texas Toast, how weird is that? They have a lot more high-end meat and seafood if you're into that, but still carry all the budget items as well. I wish the produce section had a bit more to choose from but it's not bad. I'd give it 3.5 star, the extra half star is to offset the unnecessarily negative reviews. read more

I am thrilled with the HEB bakery and floral departments in League City! They made the cake and flower arrangements of my dreams for my wedding reception. Yes! A grocery store did it for a fraction of the cost of an expensive bridal cake decorator and bridal florist. Everyone at my reception complimented the beauty and moistness of the cake as well as the elegance of the flowers. My guests were floored when I told them who was responsible for such beauty. The bakery doesn't deliver, but it was no big deal for us to pick up the cake on the way to our celebration. Stephanie and Caleen did an awesome job of stacking a sturdy 2-tier cake within a strong cardboard box. The cake was ready and waiting on us once we arrived; we waited on nothing. Also, Sheryl Brown in the floral department happily and patiently worked with me and my ever-changing mind. She can calm the most panicked bride with her soft-spoken reassurance. She did deliver and set up at the venue on time, and she worked easily with my decorator. I will certainly return to this store for any future bakery and floral needs! No regrets here! read more
